Bolton looking to get into TV?

posted at 2:54 pm on December 5, 2006 by Allahpundit

That’s the word on the street in Bel Air. My sources tell me he’s hoping to land at MSNBC since it’s the only institution in New York more desperately in need of reform than the UN.

No, I kid. We all know where he’s going to end up; they’ve probably already set up a desk for him. Being a novice, he’s bound to be stiff in front of the camera at first, so they may have to give him a co-host to keep things flowing. It’d have to be someone with guts. With grit.

With balls.

Regis and Bolton in the morning.

Good Lt on December 5, 2006 at 3:00 PM

He would make a good Judge Wopner replacement for the People’s Court.

He would also be a good host for “Cribs: Despot Addition”

Molly Henneberg!

RedWinged Blackbird on December 5, 2006 at 3:08 PM

It would be awkward if he ever had as a guest one of the congressional Democrats…

Alex K on December 5, 2006 at 3:12 PM

Captain John and Mr. Greenjeans? I know I’m dating myself!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on December 5, 2006 at 3:13 PM

It’s gonna be Bolton & Barber… Tikki & John. Whatever you want to say.

Editor on December 5, 2006 at 3:16 PM

At this point ..I believe the best thing Mr Bolton can do is be on tv EVERY day to counter what the MSM says about the tratorious UN.

davy on December 5, 2006 at 3:16 PM

Michelle and Regis would rock! Of course, you can’t go wrong with Juliet Huddy either.

Pablo on December 5, 2006 at 3:20 PM

I suggested somewhere in the past 24 hours that he should be high profile. As long as he doesn’t wear a bowtie or do special komments.

How about Beauty and The ‘Stache?

If he’s on some obscure channel (see Rather, Dan), we might have to call it Where’s My ‘Stache?

JammieWearingFool on December 5, 2006 at 3:24 PM

Oh Lord.

honora on December 5, 2006 at 3:25 PM

Count me in, I’d watch a show with him as the host. It’d drive the MSN nuts with someone who is a straight talking, no nonsense kind of guy like Mr. Bolton.

Yakko77 on December 5, 2006 at 3:26 PM

Regis and “Regis.”

Attila (Pillage Idiot) on December 5, 2006 at 3:26 PM

I don’t know ’bout y’all, but the way he’s lookin’ at the Boss disturbs me.

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on December 5, 2006 at 3:26 PM

I think they should put him on a debate show and give him a wiffle ball bat. Considering he’d probably be the only one on with balls it might not do any good.

:)

Shocking News: Bolton Did His Job

BTW, if he doesn’t get his own show, should FNC ever need to move Eric Shawn or Jonathan Hunt away from reporting on the UN cesspool, it would be delicious if they made Bolton the UN correspondent. Watching him chase the louts, thugs, and thieves around would be high comedy.

JammieWearingFool on December 5, 2006 at 3:28 PM

Maybe he can replace the show currently held by the Queen of Missing Teens, Greta.

LakeRuins on December 5, 2006 at 3:35 PM

Jessy Helms on Bolton “he’s a brilliant thinker..the kinda of guy I stand with at Armageddon”. SonnySpats on Bolton “He’s a rare breed……If I was still getting in bar room brawls I’d like Bolton on my side”. I coulda been a Senator (contender).

sonnyspats1 on December 5, 2006 at 3:36 PM

Speaking of the UN Donald Trump has some good comments this morning about the waste of money being spent to refurbish the UN Building. The money quote
” They are either incompetent or crooked, and I don’t think an organization with as many smart people as they have is incompetent” (or something like that.)
/On Fox and Friends this morning

Or Lincoln Chaffee … but I repeat you.

thirteen28 on December 5, 2006 at 3:53 PM

Or Lincoln Chaffee … but I repeat you.

Heh. Yeah. Speaking of MSNBC, someone on it last night said something like “even Lincoln Chaffee said he didn’t intend to vote for Bolton…” Yes, even Lincoln Chaffee!

Alex K on December 5, 2006 at 4:00 PM

“Balls, with John Bolton” to compete with “Hardball”, with you know who.

Or “Bolting Balls”…

To put MM and JB together would not provide that “opposites attract/diverge” or “fair and balanced” thing. Also, there’d be almost too many balls in one basket show.

Entelechy on December 5, 2006 at 4:24 PM

Why am I hearing all this nonsense about Regis on the “Regis” show? Or Regis on Fox with Michelle Malkin?

Pernicious nonsesne, all of it!

Regis on Fox? Bah.

Regis on MSNBC? Double Bah.

There is one place, and ONLY one place I want to see Regis.
.
.
.
.
Permanant Co-Host of “The View.”

The ‘Stache vs. Rosie O’Donnell.

Can’t. Wait.

EFG on December 5, 2006 at 4:24 PM

Eh, I suppose I should explain that last post of mine.

Jeff Goldstein of protein wisdom gave John Boltons Moustache the name of “Regis”.

I don’t know why he did this. But it works. He wrote an ongoing saga of short posts about the UN adventures of “Regis” and his nubile young admirers, cuban cigars, fine single malt scotch, and a regular administation of a beat down of Kofi Annan.

Probably one of Jeffs funniest series, in my opinion.

And now it will all be gone, like tears in the rain….

(oh the pathos!)

EFG on December 5, 2006 at 4:29 PM

He is going to start a moustache replacement service for men who cannot grow a proper one.

He should donate some of that moustache hair to Britney Spears….she seems to be hair-deficient in places.

(Yeah, I know….I’m banned for that one)

quax1 on December 5, 2006 at 4:39 PM

Talk about the “DREAM TEAM”! Now that would be a ratings BOFFO!

labwrs on December 5, 2006 at 4:40 PM

Watching him chase the louts, thugs, and thieves around would be high comedy.

For some reason, the song that always played at the end of a Benny Hill show started going through my head.

taznar on December 5, 2006 at 4:49 PM

What a world. We have crappy leadership around the world; while the good thinkers write columns and are on TV complaining about the leadership. Nice planet.

lorien1973 on December 5, 2006 at 4:49 PM

I heard that he was actually in line for new Fox News Daily Show spinoff.

JaHerer22 on December 5, 2006 at 4:51 PM

You’re probably just kidding…

I heard that he was actually in line for new Fox News Daily Show spinoff.

JaHerer22 on December 5, 2006 at 4:51 PM

…if not, you’d disappoint GregH (from yesterday’s Bolton-leaves announcement thread)…

Sweet! Now I guess it’s on to some cushy job at Exxon or Bechtel?

GregH on December 4, 2006 at 11:06 AM

Personally, I hope he goes into a very public job. It would drive the MSM and the Olbermann’s nuts.

Entelechy on December 5, 2006 at 5:21 PM

Somebody needs to write an update/spoof to the song Money by Pink Floyd: “…keep your hands off my ‘stache…”

urbancenturion on December 5, 2006 at 5:22 PM

Wow. I’d have to take MSNBC off my TiVo’s “skip” list!

aero on December 5, 2006 at 5:34 PM

Somebody needs to write an update/spoof to the song Money by Pink Floyd: “…keep your hands off my ’stache…” — urbancenturion

…really worked for that one, didn’t ya…reached *DEEP* into the pocket and pulled it out…lint and all….

Da ‘Stache on the tube…look out, O’Reilly….

Puritan1648 on December 5, 2006 at 5:51 PM

Sorry Puritan1648, I’ll admit I have an odd sense of humor.

urbancenturion on December 5, 2006 at 5:54 PM

“John and Michelles Excellent Adventure”. A Fox News
special or replacement for that mushy O’Reilly.

Texyank on December 5, 2006 at 6:23 PM

“Desparate Recess Appointments”

“Monday Night Political Football”

“Hallmark Hall Of Fame Presents: The Christmas ‘Stache”

“Who Wants To Be A Cabinet-Level Diplomat”

…get Bolton and Geraldo on the same program and you’ll probably have to get out the weed-wacker and shave the TV screen….

Puritan1648 on December 5, 2006 at 6:32 PM

Personally, I hope he goes into a very public job. It would drive the MSM and the Olbermann’s nuts.

Yes, and he doesn’t seem to be the sort who’s in it for the money.

Pablo on December 5, 2006 at 7:28 PM

I’m not sure what he reminds me of with that mustache, but I want to say it’s some kind of cartoon cat…. Maybe he could do something in that field.

RightWinged on December 6, 2006 at 3:39 AM

My bet is that Bolton will take over on 24 after Jack finally, actually, really, seriously dies. The terrorist will cower in fear at the mustache.
