Video: America’s dumbest cheerleader

Too much hard news lately.
“She’s actually one of the smartest songleaders,” says the, um, guy who used to date her.

Much needed humor relief..thanks!
Pam on December 4, 2006 at 3:17 PM
Well, she was the only one with her back turned to the team.
Kokonut on December 4, 2006 at 3:18 PM
Get her a job at the NY Times!!
morganfrost on December 4, 2006 at 3:23 PM
USC, University of Stoopid Cheerleaders.
right2bright on December 4, 2006 at 3:25 PM
She is to USC what our media is to the US.
thirteen28 on December 4, 2006 at 3:26 PM
And she’s not even a blond. Shoots my theory all to hades.
CyberCipher on December 4, 2006 at 3:34 PM
Songleader?? It’s no longer cheerleader?? Do I want to know why….Oh mercy.
honora on December 4, 2006 at 3:36 PM
USC. UCLA. Hey, all those letters can be confusing to a cheerleader.
Maybe she was dyslexic and thought the ACLU just scored. That would make any college student in Kaliforny stand up and cheer.
fogw on December 4, 2006 at 3:36 PM
Wow….California girls :)
danarchy on December 4, 2006 at 3:37 PM
She’s just taken to heart what she’s been taught -there are no losers! So stand up and cheer or you may damage the psyche of those who played for the non-winning, but also non-losing team!
taznar on December 4, 2006 at 3:42 PM
Must be the day for cheerleader news…
Entelechy on December 4, 2006 at 3:42 PM
I just had a disturbing thought. Could this cheerleader be the older sister of the “littlest Moonbat?”
CyberCipher on December 4, 2006 at 3:45 PM
Man, that was such a great game.
The look on USC fan faces……..priceless.
The Ugly American on December 4, 2006 at 3:47 PM
Nice to lighten it up a bit.
I love the USC cheerleader outfits – traditional, conservative, yet hot.
forest on December 4, 2006 at 3:50 PM
Oh, bless her heart.
marykatharine on December 4, 2006 at 3:58 PM
Maybe she just wants to be a NFL referee one day? Or she was happy b/c a USC fan caught the PAT?
Or she could be a retard.
Hoodlumman on December 4, 2006 at 4:01 PM
I’m mean, c’mon guys, does it really matter which side a hot girl in a cheerleader outfit is cheering for as long as she shows some life?
It was probably a chick who caught this originally, no dude would care! ;) In fact, I would prefer they ALL cheer every time EITHER side scores! That is a perfect game in my view! YEAH! ‘)
Bearhopi on December 4, 2006 at 4:01 PM
That’s just what they call it at some schools.
Sounds like you owe blondes an apology. And for the record, I remain convinced that bleached blondes give the rest of us a bad name.
Esthier on December 4, 2006 at 4:01 PM
Ah yes….U S C…..University of Spoiled Children…..daddy’s dollars spent well.

As the son of a militantly partisan UCLA alumnus, that game did my heart good. I was actually at drill when it happened and alienated half the bus on the way home by cheering when I heard the news (for some reason all Oregon residents who are not rabid OSU/Oregon fans cheer for USC. Go figure). The CHEERleader (I loathe the term songleader; they don’t sing!) story was icing on the cake. Thank you, AP, for lightening my day!
Militant Bibliophile on December 4, 2006 at 4:07 PM
Maybe she, like myself, just knows her stuff. That being her team, USC, stinks! And I think she, like me, had a few bucks on UCLA +13. Which at this time put us up 3 touchdowns with 2 points to spare. I cheered too! Show me the money! Show me the money! Show me the money!
soulsirkus on December 4, 2006 at 4:08 PM
‘Dumb’ and ‘cheerleader’. Now there’s an oxymoron.
Ian on December 4, 2006 at 4:10 PM
I wonder if you have the same bookie as Georgia Tech’s QB. He has managed to make the point spread 2 weeks in a row.
LakeRuins on December 4, 2006 at 4:15 PM
Give her a break guys, she just got caught up in the excitement of the home run.
Buzzy on December 4, 2006 at 4:16 PM
Hey, give the girl a break!! She’s probably the first in her family to make it out of Rio Linda!!
BigOrangeAxe on December 4, 2006 at 4:16 PM
Good job both of you.
Esthier on December 4, 2006 at 4:17 PM
They don’t call it the University of Second Choice for nothin’.
/full disclosure: I went to Cal. :)
Bob's Kid on December 4, 2006 at 4:19 PM
Oh yeah Go Army Beat Navy :(
And you think you’re having a bad week.
LakeRuins on December 4, 2006 at 4:25 PM
Educated beyond her intelligence.
Wade on December 4, 2006 at 4:27 PM
I think she needs to be consoled… I will volunteer.
x95b10 on December 4, 2006 at 4:32 PM
Hey, this is a conservative leaning website – that means we are all rich and spoiled, and don’t care about anything else but ourselves – right??
Rick on December 4, 2006 at 4:38 PM
I was friends with a cheerleader in high school, who was actually quite smart (and who is now a marine biologist) and yet one day in class the teacher called her name. And the cheerleader sat there. And I turned around and looked at her. And finally she said “Oh, that’s me.”
True story.
BTW I am married to a (different) former cheerleader. Not sure how it will save the world, though.
Neo on December 4, 2006 at 4:40 PM
It would have been funnier if the other Bambis and Britneys beat the snot out of her for her stupidity.
Black Adam on December 4, 2006 at 5:02 PM
You mean redundant. Oxymoron would be a smart cheerleader or an intelligent liberal.
right2bright on December 4, 2006 at 5:12 PM
i bet she gets out of a car in a skirt like a pro though.
jummy on December 4, 2006 at 5:13 PM
Or a witty conservative.
honora on December 4, 2006 at 5:18 PM
All the haters going after USC. Is that jealousy I detect?
So she cheered for the wrong team. Isn’t it the thought that counts?
JammieWearingFool on December 4, 2006 at 5:21 PM
Or a snotty liberal.
JammieWearingFool on December 4, 2006 at 5:30 PM
Heh.
Jaibones on December 4, 2006 at 5:33 PM
as my late Father might ask her concerning major subjects “What are you taking up… space?”
(He had a great sense of humor)…
Zorro on December 4, 2006 at 6:02 PM
She said “alright, we hit a home run with a football bat to win our first soccer game of the year”. Future leaders of our nation? Allah help us all………

Refugee from Berkley ….
omegaram on December 4, 2006 at 6:41 PM
Yay! A touchdown!
SouthernGent on December 4, 2006 at 6:46 PM
This only proves we Bruins are smarter and better academically.
Well, better than USC anyway…
wherestherum on December 4, 2006 at 7:40 PM
Jeeeez, man, she heard people cheering and started to do her pom-pom thing for a second or two, then caught herself.
Serious Slack need to be cut here…..
Besides, I thought one of the rules was that cute chicks can do pretty much whatever they want—am I out of the loop again?
Janos Hunyadi on December 4, 2006 at 8:01 PM
who’s the littlest moonbat?
i heard this thoroughly conditioned little 8/yo snot on the michael medved show once. the audio was supposed to be published by dan sytman but i keep going back to his site now and then and he still doesn’t have it availible.
jummy on December 4, 2006 at 8:39 PM
This reminds me of this classic. Hilarious.
RightWinged on December 4, 2006 at 9:44 PM
Maybe she was doing it in the name of Diversity, you know, because it’s not right that the cheerleaders cheer ONLY when their team scores, gee, they should cheer for everybody.
Maxx on December 4, 2006 at 10:14 PM
Actually Ian, ‘Dumb’ and ‘cheerleader’ are much closer to being synonymous.
Oxymoron: a phrase in which two words of contradictory meaning are used together for special effect, e.g. “wise fool” or “legal murder”
Maxx on December 4, 2006 at 10:28 PM
Funny!
Reminds me that my wife knows absolutely nothing about football and doesn’t care to ever learn.
She takes her willful ignorance of the game a step further. Just a few weeks ago, our daughter who’s in 5th Grade brought home a couple of math word problems, one involving football “yards and number of plays to touchdown”. So, I explained football concepts to her and she eventually understood enough to correctly complete the problem.
My wife literally flipped out, equating this innocent little math problem with unfair “football indoctrination” of our children.
I think my wife should view this video clip to see what happens to girls who don’t understand football.
CliffHanger on December 4, 2006 at 11:43 PM
Fake but accurate? Good leaks? Well, those aren’t exactly oxymorons.. but I just felt like mentioning them.
RightWinged on December 4, 2006 at 11:47 PM
My 15 year old sophomore is a straight-A student and cheerleader. Sadly, I could see her doing this at a game. From day one of practice since she’s been a cheerleader, they’ve been given only instruction on cheering…nothing about football. Heck if I can help her! And now they’re moving into basketball season….
serpentineshel on December 5, 2006 at 9:13 AM
I’m disappointed in the video. I was expecting a Britneyshot.
