Bush Toon To Air On Comedy Central...

Well, after watching that pilot clip, I'd say we can categorise this as dark comedy. The Bush groupies will be driven mad by this nonetheless. To them I say: Deal with it, he sucks. And we told you so. BTW- That Lil' Rummy is just adorable, eh?...

I'm pretty much of the same opinion here as I was about the ACLU Nativity. It isn't very funny. Almost every joke was ridiculously obvious. I guess left and right both have their share of uninspired, faux artists. The difference, though, that I see here is that the left's uninspired apparently get paid for their yawners.

I've seen good Bush humor. This isn't it. That was lamer than a quadroplegic dog trying to chase a parked car.

Seriously, I couldnt get through the first thirty seconds.

It's one thing to bash the POTUS in a cartoon...after all, liberals will be liberals...but is it too much to expect some artistic talent when you're doing it? I mean, come on, it's not as if this is being drawn by us non-artistic conservatives, right?

I've seen way too many styles of cartooning, in both comics and animation, that if not for the liberal political content wouldn't even merit a display on the refrigerator at a second-grader's house. Intentionally bad drawing doesn't somehow become good drawing even when you make the script a farce.

Janos, with respect, I think you're still off in what you think a syllogism is. A syllogism is just a deductive logical argument. It's tough to "commit" a syllogism, unless you have a beef with logic. There are both valid and invalid syllogisms (Aristotle famously categorized every logically distinct type, both valid and invalid), but the word "syllogism" does not imply invalidity. I don't know if tautology was what you meant to mean, but in re "syllogism", in the words of Inigo Montoya: "You keep saying this word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Duh, uh, freelancer, actually, man, I meant that ScottMcC done BOTH. Syllogisms and circular logic /tautologies go together quite well, like paprika and stewed peppers, plums and brandy....

I just want to chip in that I don't think THAT'S MY BUSH was BDS, it was really just a satire of sitcoms and stereotypical elements of sitcoms. It was done right at the beginning of the Bush administration, and in the planning stages they were going to go with whoever won the election, calling it EVERYONE LOVES AL if Gore won, and THAT'S MY BUSH if Bush won.

It was from Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the SOUTH PARK guys, who have ably demonstrated their willingness to lampoon just about everybody equally.

This, however, is just liberals trashing Bush in the most petty way they can think of.

How boorish. Liberal writers and their "clever" comedy. Even the jokes about Bill Clinton's sex life are running long in the tooth on Leno and Letterman - just to name two late night shows with no new ideas on comedy. Actually, this cartoon could have been funny (in the vein of Colbert) if it weren't for the usual pedantic lines liberal comedian's always fall back on. Yawn.

This is ridiculous.
I am so DAMN TIRED of seeing this crap on my T.V.
No one is shown any damn respect anymore unless they have a D after their name and it just pisses me off.

What is there to do about it besides raise my blood pressure? Nothing, because ordinary people could give a crap less who our president is, what he does or how he got there.

Sorry but CRAP like this just throws me over the edge sometimes.. the disrespect for the office our president holds is dispicable.

I can laugh at "Bush is dumb" humor--even though I think that only dumb people make those jokes--as long as it is clever and is actually funny. This is neither.

Without even knowing who made the cartoon, its creators came across as relatively unintelligent guys with a BARELY passing knowledge of current events. Any reasonably intelligent person who has a firm understanding of current events could have come up with something that was at least slightly clever.

So if Comedy Central made a cartoon called “Lil’ Hillary” and portrayed her as a socialist nutbag who attempts to kill Vince Foster every week as part of satire, the left would have no problem with that?

The left would call it offensive, sexist, racist, fascist, and fattening.

The Comedy Central viewpoint, and that of the MSM, is that the root of true comedy is repeating the same old 'Bush Dumb' gag ad nasueum.

Of course people not watching the show will be interpreted as the government 'silencing' artists like they did with the <strike>Chix With Dix</strike> Dixie Chicks by somehow convincing them with their mind-altering Dick Cheney mind control technology to not buy their <strike>crap</strike> stuff.

Right now the best way to show if a writer's completely burnt out if the best idea he can muster is putting George W. Bush in some silly situation.

I'm waiting for BUSH'S ISLAND with Bush and his cabinet stuck on a desert island replaying scripts from Gilligan's Island, all done with claymation.

You are avoiding the truth and proving the point that on the whole political conservatives are unsupportive of artists.

So if Comedy Central made a cartoon called "Lil' Hillary" and portrayed her as a socialist nutbag who attempts to kill Vince Foster every week as part of satire, the left would have no problem with that?

Yet another attack against one of your own when you should be saying: "Interesting point. What would be some of the most effective ways to encourage more Michelle Malkins and HotAir.coms in the near and long term?"

Is it any wonder P.J. O'Rourke called us "the dumb party"

Keep digging that hole, folks... Keeeeeeeep digging.

So, we are all guilty for what we AREN'T DOING. Hmm. Ok, I'm guilty for giving 22 years of my life to the Navy instead of trying to become something I'm not, an artist/media wag.

That means I'm also guilty for not becoming a politically-conservative [sic] professor at any major university that is otherwise overrun by liberal faculty, and I'm guilty for not becoming a politically-conservative lawyer fighting for "real" justice instead of the hypocritical liberal-styled justice we're all sick of.

Nah, doesn't fly. Do what you think is right, let others do what they think is right. Calling down condemnation on folks for their choices, when you know nothing about them, is mighty hollow.

Janos, I'm guessing you meant a tautology, not a syllogism.

Look Mr. Spock, you're ignoring the facts:

Comedy Central has already made backend deals with Amp'd Mobile on advertising and DVD sales to make "Li'l Bush" profitable. It is therefore a profitable deal for Viacom and is considered a success.

You are avoiding the truth and proving the point that on the whole political conservatives are unsupportive of artists. You and other HotAir commenters are attacking me for pointing out what should be blindingly obvious.

I am a 100% gun-toting Texan Republican. I am a writer/editor at a software company to pay bills but I write, produce, and voice a 3D cartoon on YouTube with traditionalist values.

Why would I or any other traditionalist ever want to continue creating art if all we get is attacked by liberals for being a right wing hatemonger and by conservatives who want to show off their L33t mad logical skillz and say "The Daily Show may be left leaning but it's sooooo funny"?

Okay, ScottMcC, before I or anyone els can prove your point, you need to actually make one. I bee-leeve you have committed a syllogism in stating your case, and Circular Logic don't go nowhere

ScottMcC,

Next time you attempt to make a point, try to make it in fewer than 10,000 words. This is a blog, not your diary.

I bet this show fails miserably. Not because Republicans won’t watch it (which they won’t because of the obvious) but because Democrats won’t watch it either.

You're wrong.

I'd tell you exactly why with sources and statistics but this is a blog not a diary.

So, ScottMcC, you are saying that I and others should have encouraged our children to seek out Hollywood / Pop Culture as a vocation? And because we didn’t, we are responsible for the steady stream of scheiss that we see on TV and in the mooovies?

I plead Not Guilty

You are only not guilty if your kid is an outspoken politically-conservative working artist or owns a media company with programming that highlights traditionalist values... if not, then you've proven my point.

Liberals aren't going to make cartoons, movies, TV shows, books, and video games with traditionalist values. Period.

No matter how big the market for traditionalist media might be, liberals will not as they themselves would say: "stoop so low as to pander to the lowest common denominator" because the liberal already has enough money from other liberals and the conservatives that say "Well, it's only entertainment and I like it" rather than take a stand against it (like a liberal would take a stand against any bit of media that might dare to be traditionalist).

The question must be asked: Who will ever produce traditionalist media for us if only liberals ever produce media?

Who’s the only Republican that has had the–wait for it–balls to put their money where their mouth is and created a media company with traditional values?

Michelle Malkin, that’s who.

That’s right… A girl.

A brown girl of Filipino ancestry.

A girl with Filipino ancestry that is not a mulitmillionaire corporate mogul but is more American and with more balls than any Republican rich guy I can think of.

YEAH! That's right. A GOOD girl that drives a Subaru and has the audacity to actually WEAR her underwear.

Oops! Sorry. Just tryin' to help.
