Lil’ Bush: Comedy Central’s new anti-Bush show

Here comes another offering from BDS TV:
Comedy Central has ordered “Lil’ Bush: Resident of the United States,” a cartoon satire that re-imagines President Bush and key executives in his administration as elementary school misfits.
The title character is surrounded by close pals like Lil’ Cheney, who grumbles unintelligibly, and Lil’ Condi, who pines for Lil’ Bush and does his homework for him.
Portraying Condi as Bush’s servant? How original.
Here’s a preview of the pilot titled “Hot Dog.” Let’s hope this will be a smashing success–you know, like “That’s My Bush” was:
Greg Tinti opines.

Is Soros funding this moronic network? Some wealthy, power-monger liberal has to be.

The Republicans lose one election and the cockroaches come out. How brave.
It isn’t really a very clever cartoon. The guy who did this also worked on “The Simpsons”? As what? Janitor?
Comedy Central…where’s the comedy? If I want political invective and childish vulgarity, I’ll go hang out over at DU.

If it weren’t for Southpark and Mind of Mencia the network would be worthless…

This is so stupid that it has actually pulled me out of my Nov. 7th funk. Libs are completely humorless. And I say that now with a smile and hope for the future. Thanks!

Comedy Central’s first network name was “Ha!” Even those morons realized how stupid that sounded
but, if the shoe fits………..
Thay could go back to the one-word exclamation concept, and call their network “Crap!”
Janos Hunyadi on December 4, 2006 at 6:11 PM
Boy that’s all really original
Defector01 on December 4, 2006 at 6:16 PM
…that’s true…at least Southpark and Mencia are crass, vulgar, juvenile and pointless with *EVERYONE* in fairly equal measure.
Maybe they should change networks.
Puritan1648 on December 4, 2006 at 6:19 PM
What really really gets me is the irony. Try this in any number of countries and you get a bullet in the head. The only thing sacred to leftists is under the politically correct, multiculturalist veil…
Matt. Tre. Go to work boys.
Theworldisnotenough on December 4, 2006 at 6:23 PM
wow. i’m truly speechless.
oh, not really.
The Daily Show and Colbert are funny even though they’re so far left of center, South Park is unsurpassed satire even when they puncture the right, and Drawn Together has it’s moments, but Freaks is nearly unwatchable and if this clip is any indication of lil bush, CC has finally jumped the shark.
But the DUmmies and the rest of Olberman’s fans will love it. It will have ratings along the lines of Olberman’s show right out of the box.

How ’bout pitching a new series to Comedy Central called Lil’ Bubba. You see Lil’ Bubba lives in a trailer park with his squeeze Lil’ Hill who steals silverware and envisions a Orwellian state where she rules supreme. Lil’ Bubba has his friends Lil’ Sandy who stuffs things in his shorts. Lil’ James who likes to beat up girls. Yup, drag a $50 bill through a trailer park and you never know what you’ll catch
Child In Time on December 4, 2006 at 6:27 PM
Guess what? “Li’l Bush” will be a success.
Because even if Comedy Central never makes it past the original order of 6 episodes it will succeed because of the hype…
This cartoon will be lauded as the funniest thing ever by leftists on and off that network. The cartoon was featured on YouTube and had plenty of “OMFG!!! LOL!!!1!!” comments and high ratings pushing it to top 300,000+ views in a couple of days back in September, which is exactly how Comedy Central found it.
Once the cartoon is on Comedy Central, Colbert will feign indignation about the cartoon which is nothing more than a promo for the cartoon on his show. If ratings are bad enough, Jonny Leibowitz will bring the head writer of the cartoon on TDS for a hard hitting sitdown in the seat of heat sponsored by Amp’d Mobile. The DVD sales of the “Li’l Bush: Too Right For TV!” edition won’t set sales records but will more than make up for the initial capital outlay that Viacom paid for those 6 episodes.
C’mon, this cartoon cost next to nothing to produce–the animation is not going to win any awards for technical innovations (although I’m sure the content will win all manner of pats on the back from the like-minded writers’ guilds in Hollywood, Chicago, and NYC).
What many on our side fail to admit is that this cartoon will succeed mainly because conservatives laugh at cartoons like “Li’l Bush” or “Family Guy” or any of ther other 8,247 cartoons out there bashing them as hateful, ignorant, racist oppressive thugs and justify their laughing at the cartoon that ripped them a new one by sheepishly saying: “Well, it’s just entertainment.” This is the response you’ll often hear when pointing out the anti-traditionalist themes and dialogue from “Battlestar Galactica” “Star Trek: TNG” “Heroes” “Superman Returns” ad infinitum.
Note that if a conservative uses a witty remark to point out the hypocrisy of the so-called “progressives”, the left immediately comes together across the cybersphere, print, and all forms of mass media to brand the conservative as one of the many hateful, ignorant, racist oppressive thugs with no sense of humor that are ruining the world with their conservative views.
Hey, aren’t Republicans supposed to have stolen all of the wealth in the world? Then I must ask why aren’t Republicans buying TV networks, movie studios, and newspaper printing presses? If you did you would see talented conservative comedians, cartoonists, actors, directors, and screenwriters actually produce entertainment that the traditionalist majority in the world would want to see and pay money to see it (i.e. box office hits such as “The Passion”).
Instead you tell your daughters: “Nice poetry, dear. Now if you want to write for a living, you must learn to write business proposals because your dream to live in Paris and write for a fashion magazine is nonsense.”
Instead you tell your sons: “You want to be an actor? But you can’t make a living doing that–and people will say you are homosexual. If you want to use your talent for public speaking, you should go into sales and join the Toastmasters down at the Lion’s Club.”
And meanwhile, the liberals will tell your sons and daughters that parents are always wrong, dreams always come true, and if your dreams don’t come true it was the fault of your right-winger parents that held you back from thinking freely and expressing yourself…
Who’s the only Republican that has had the–wait for it–balls to put their money where their mouth is and created a media company with traditional values?
Michelle Malkin, that’s who.
That’s right… A girl.
A brown girl of Filipino ancestry.
A girl with Filipino ancestry that is not a mulitmillionaire corporate mogul but is more American and with more balls than any Republican rich guy I can think of.
I only wish that any white Anglo that actually has money and balls should read this and crumple into a heap of shame where you stand. No, instead you’ll retreat behind your gated community, stick your head in the sand, and complain to your friends at golf tomorrow about how those darn kids today with the cell phones and baggy pants are so disrespectful.
ScottMcC on December 4, 2006 at 6:38 PM
That’s my Bush wasn’t that bad. It was more about making fun of sitcoms than Bush himself.
Number 2 on December 4, 2006 at 7:10 PM
Sadly it probably will be a hit. I mean, you’ve got millions of people who get their news from the Daily Show… that audience will eat this up.
By the way, since when is Laura fat? She’s actually in damn good shape, especially for her age, as far as I can tell.
RightWinged on December 4, 2006 at 7:33 PM
ScottMcC,
Next time you attempt to make a point, try to make it in fewer than 10,000 words. This is a blog, not your diary.
I bet this show fails miserably. Not because Republicans won’t watch it (which they won’t because of the obvious) but because Democrats won’t watch it either.
Why would a Bush hater watch a Comedy Central show that merely hints that Bush is the devil when you can go to Kos or Huff and get full venom BDS? The target market for this show is not known for their love of subtlety when it comes to bashing Bush.
Rosetta on December 4, 2006 at 7:35 PM

It already exists. Instead of being the vicious attack that Lil Bush is it more resembles a full on version of the act that Lil Monica did on Bill. Especially the full on ass kissing it gives to Lil Georgie Stepho.

So, ScottMcC, you are saying that I and others should have encouraged our children to seek out Hollywood / Pop Culture as a vocation? And because we didn’t, we are responsible for the steady stream of scheiss that we see on TV and in the mooovies?
I plead Not Guilty
’scheiss is a German word: change the double-s to a ‘t’

CyberCipher on December 4, 2006 at 8:00 PM
You’re wrong.
I’d tell you exactly why with sources and statistics but this is a blog not a diary.
You are only not guilty if your kid is an outspoken politically-conservative working artist or owns a media company with programming that highlights traditionalist values… if not, then you’ve proven my point.
Liberals aren’t going to make cartoons, movies, TV shows, books, and video games with traditionalist values. Period.
No matter how big the market for traditionalist media might be, liberals will not as they themselves would say: “stoop so low as to pander to the lowest common denominator” because the liberal already has enough money from other liberals and the conservatives that say “Well, it’s only entertainment and I like it” rather than take a stand against it (like a liberal would take a stand against any bit of media that might dare to be traditionalist).
The question must be asked: Who will ever produce traditionalist media for us if only liberals ever produce media?
ScottMcC on December 4, 2006 at 8:40 PM
Okay, ScottMcC, before I or anyone els can prove your point, you need to actually make one. I bee-leeve you have committed a syllogism in stating your case, and Circular Logic don’t go nowhere
Janos Hunyadi on December 4, 2006 at 8:47 PM
Look Mr. Spock, you’re ignoring the facts:
Comedy Central has already made backend deals with Amp’d Mobile on advertising and DVD sales to make “Li’l Bush” profitable. It is therefore a profitable deal for Viacom and is considered a success.
You are avoiding the truth and proving the point that on the whole political conservatives are unsupportive of artists. You and other HotAir commenters are attacking me for pointing out what should be blindingly obvious.
I am a 100% gun-toting Texan Republican. I am a writer/editor at a software company to pay bills but I write, produce, and voice a 3D cartoon on YouTube with traditionalist values.
Why would I or any other traditionalist ever want to continue creating art if all we get is attacked by liberals for being a right wing hatemonger and by conservatives who want to show off their L33t mad logical skillz and say “The Daily Show may be left leaning but it’s sooooo funny”?
ScottMcC on December 4, 2006 at 9:01 PM
So, we are all guilty for what we AREN’T DOING. Hmm. Ok, I’m guilty for giving 22 years of my life to the Navy instead of trying to become something I’m not, an artist/media wag.
That means I’m also guilty for not becoming a politically-conservative [sic] professor at any major university that is otherwise overrun by liberal faculty, and I’m guilty for not becoming a politically-conservative lawyer fighting for “real” justice instead of the hypocritical liberal-styled justice we’re all sick of.
Nah, doesn’t fly. Do what you think is right, let others do what they think is right. Calling down condemnation on folks for their choices, when you know nothing about them, is mighty hollow.
Janos, I’m guessing you meant a tautology, not a syllogism.
Freelancer on December 4, 2006 at 9:10 PM
Yet another attack against one of your own when you should be saying: “Interesting point. What would be some of the most effective ways to encourage more Michelle Malkins and HotAir.coms in the near and long term?”
Is it any wonder P.J. O’Rourke called us “the dumb party”
Keep digging that hole, folks… Keeeeeeeep digging.
ScottMcC on December 4, 2006 at 9:17 PM
So if Comedy Central made a cartoon called “Lil’ Hillary” and portrayed her as a socialist nutbag who attempts to kill Vince Foster every week as part of satire, the left would have no problem with that?
JG2K6 on December 4, 2006 at 9:21 PM
I question the timing.
RightWinged on December 4, 2006 at 9:42 PM
The left would call it offensive, sexist, racist, fascist, and fattening.
The Comedy Central viewpoint, and that of the MSM, is that the root of true comedy is repeating the same old ‘Bush Dumb’ gag ad nasueum.
Of course people not watching the show will be interpreted as the government ’silencing’ artists like they did with the
Chix With DixDixie Chicks by somehow convincing them with their mind-altering Dick Cheney mind control technology to not buy theircrapstuff.Right now the best way to show if a writer’s completely burnt out if the best idea he can muster is putting George W. Bush in some silly situation.
I’m waiting for BUSH’S ISLAND with Bush and his cabinet stuck on a desert island replaying scripts from Gilligan’s Island, all done with claymation.
MoxArgon on December 4, 2006 at 9:48 PM
I can laugh at “Bush is dumb” humor–even though I think that only dumb people make those jokes–as long as it is clever and is actually funny. This is neither.
Without even knowing who made the cartoon, its creators came across as relatively unintelligent guys with a BARELY passing knowledge of current events. Any reasonably intelligent person who has a firm understanding of current events could have come up with something that was at least slightly clever.
DaveS on December 4, 2006 at 11:03 PM
This is ridiculous.
I am so DAMN TIRED of seeing this crap on my T.V.
No one is shown any damn respect anymore unless they have a D after their name and it just pisses me off.
What is there to do about it besides raise my blood pressure? Nothing, because ordinary people could give a crap less who our president is, what he does or how he got there.
Sorry but CRAP like this just throws me over the edge sometimes.. the disrespect for the office our president holds is dispicable.
lgodfrey88 on December 4, 2006 at 11:29 PM
How boorish. Liberal writers and their “clever” comedy. Even the jokes about Bill Clinton’s sex life are running long in the tooth on Leno and Letterman – just to name two late night shows with no new ideas on comedy. Actually, this cartoon could have been funny (in the vein of Colbert) if it weren’t for the usual pedantic lines liberal comedian’s always fall back on. Yawn.
thedecider on December 4, 2006 at 11:32 PM
I just want to chip in that I don’t think THAT’S MY BUSH was BDS, it was really just a satire of sitcoms and stereotypical elements of sitcoms. It was done right at the beginning of the Bush administration, and in the planning stages they were going to go with whoever won the election, calling it EVERYONE LOVES AL if Gore won, and THAT’S MY BUSH if Bush won.
It was from Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the SOUTH PARK guys, who have ably demonstrated their willingness to lampoon just about everybody equally.
This, however, is just liberals trashing Bush in the most petty way they can think of.
Mibrilane on December 4, 2006 at 11:49 PM
Disgusting and stupid. The moonbats will both love it and understand it.
JustTruth101 on December 4, 2006 at 11:53 PM
Duh, uh, freelancer, actually, man, I meant that ScottMcC done BOTH. Syllogisms and circular logic /tautologies go together quite well, like paprika and stewed peppers, plums and brandy….
nice try at trying to look Real Smart, though
Janos Hunyadi on December 5, 2006 at 12:06 AM
Janos, with respect, I think you’re still off in what you think a syllogism is. A syllogism is just a deductive logical argument. It’s tough to “commit” a syllogism, unless you have a beef with logic. There are both valid and invalid syllogisms (Aristotle famously categorized every logically distinct type, both valid and invalid), but the word “syllogism” does not imply invalidity. I don’t know if tautology was what you meant to mean, but in re “syllogism”, in the words of Inigo Montoya: “You keep saying this word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
flip on December 5, 2006 at 12:43 AM

I give it one month.

iNeXuS on December 5, 2006 at 3:56 AM
It’s one thing to bash the POTUS in a cartoon…after all, liberals will be liberals…but is it too much to expect some artistic talent when you’re doing it? I mean, come on, it’s not as if this is being drawn by us non-artistic conservatives, right?
I’ve seen way too many styles of cartooning, in both comics and animation, that if not for the liberal political content wouldn’t even merit a display on the refrigerator at a second-grader’s house. Intentionally bad drawing doesn’t somehow become good drawing even when you make the script a farce.
James on December 5, 2006 at 9:08 AM
I’ve seen good Bush humor. This isn’t it. That was lamer than a quadroplegic dog trying to chase a parked car.
Seriously, I couldnt get through the first thirty seconds.

I’m pretty much of the same opinion here as I was about the ACLU Nativity. It isn’t very funny. Almost every joke was ridiculously obvious. I guess left and right both have their share of uninspired, faux artists. The difference, though, that I see here is that the left’s uninspired apparently get paid for their yawners.
