O’Rielly says that Webb disrespected the President, Webb isn’t some ordinary citizen with a grudge. But when an ordinary citizen with a grudge attackes, O’Rielly thinks that is wrong. That is why O’Rielly is rarely wrong, he is for it before he was against it.

And four years later I had grown up and seen just how close we came to collapse. Jimmy Carter made me a Republican. And judging from the 1980 election, he helped make a lot of people Republicans.

For that, I salute you Jimmy. With one finger.

And what was Carter doing here anyway?! Shouldn’t he have been in Venezuela to “validate” their elections again? …then do some high-fiving and glad-handing with Hugo Chavez?

Liberals are trying to prepare the world to accept the – to them – inevitable liquidation of Israel. Step by step, they are trying to make it seem “OK” that the Jewish state cease to exist. I don’t know if it’s a conscious plan from their side, but it is surely the jist of everything they are saying about the Middle East…….Carter is only the tip of hte iceberg in this regard.

This is absolutely the crux of the matter. Whatever other evils he is guilty of, being on the tip of the anti-Israel spear is the gravest. He’ll have a memorable legacy alright – that of standing against God’s chosen people. Woe unto him.

I would be more inclined to blame congress for our economic woes.

No expert or to belabor the point or more importantly to show you are wrong (which you are not), but Carter had a Dem congress that went along with his approach. Hand in hand they marched to continue, and increase, the economic decline he inherited. Gov. price fixing, gov. interference in commerce (oil, grain, etc.), increase in taxing resulting in a decrease of revenues, his economic advisors were doom and gloom and so was his speaches. To this day he set the tone for Dems.; the government as saviors, the people as lazy, greedy consumers. He gave 4 major energy speeches, cancelled the 5th (went to Camp David and got blasted for 4 days by his advisors) because the American people had stopped listening to him. In July of 1979, he fired every member of his cabinet and replaced them; trying to save the election. Reagan came in, and even with a Dem. congress, changed our course. And the rest is history. He (Carter) was the worst post-war president for domestic and foreign policy.

This is a lesson to future callers: start with the reasons for the name-calling, then the names.

CyberCipher, Carter was even worse at handling domestic problems. Double digit interest rates, government price fixing of gas prices, it goes on and on. Reliogously he was a tool of Satan, for all of the seculars he was a liberal democrat. Pelosi may be his spawn.

Indeed, Carter presided over us at a time when inflation ran something like 20% or more. I have not forgotten this. I am not certain how much ANY President has in the way of control over this kind of stuff. I would not be willing to hazard a guess and I would recommend consulting an “expert on economics” when pondering such matters. I suspect that blaming Carter for the economic woes of 1980 is like blaming Reagan for the Savings and Loan scandals that cropped up years later. I am FAR more willing (eager?) to saddle a president (or ex-president) with the follies of his foreign policy than I am blame him for the failings of the American economy. I would be more inclined to blame congress for our economic woes. Feel free to tell me that I am wrong. I have always believed that Carter is good Christian man, albeit an extremely misguided and naive individual. I’m even willing to admit that ANY man that takes a seat next to Michael Moore at the Democratic convention has to be a complete moron.

On the matter of Pelosi, IMHO now you are talking a different breed of cat. With her “San Francisco values” you might very well convince me that she has a boiling cauldron in her basement and that her unholy utterances are akin to casting wicked spells on her adversaries. Yes, it may be that Pelosi is indeed possessed by the devil. Witch! (If you WANT a witch hunt, I can be very accommodating.)
