The coming Muslim majority in Russia

posted at 8:27 pm on December 3, 2006 by Allahpundit

A birthrate gap, a huge unassimilated minority, the first stirrings of an ugly backlash, and the world’s largest stockpile of nuclear weapons: the wingnuts at the famously conservative Toronto Star sound worried.

Not much new here to Mark Steyn fans, but this did raise an eyebrow:

Since 1989, Russia’s Muslim population has increased by 40 per cent to about 25 million. By 2015, Muslims could make up a majority of Russia’s conscript army and they could account for one-fifth of the country’s population by 2020.

That war with the Chechens is going to look mighty interesting ten years from now, huh? Not to mention the dynamics of a Russian president potentially having to deploy a majority-Muslim army to crack down on the country’s Muslim population. Steyn considers a lot of dark scenarios in his book, but as far as I can recall, he never contemplates the possibility of a coup. Perhaps he should start.

Anyway, read it all. Especially the last paragraph.

Yes, it may be just a matter of time.

“The image of Muslims presented in the media is very distorted,” says Rusham Abbyasov, a spokesman for the Council of Muftis. “When people hear the phrase Allahu akbar (“God is great” in Arabic) they immediately think of people shooting at them or blowing themselves up.”

Gee, I wonder why. Maybe because that’s what splodeydopes shout before they blow themselves up?

NO wonder the women have no rights…they just have babies.

tomas on December 3, 2006 at 8:55 PM

This might explain Pootie’s kissing of the Iranian’s ass.

Dammit, they’re like cockroaches, infesting the world. How much longer can it be sustained before backlash “causes” jihad in EVERY
nation on earth?

What would Stalin do?

Dammit, my 2nd post didn’t show ’cause my phone rang just as I was posting it. I was saying something about maybe putting saltpeder in their water supply and Russiastan with all of those nukes we’re gonna need a pre-emptive strike. I forget the rest of it so it must not’ve been that important :-)

Tony737 on December 3, 2006 at 9:32 PM

Dang, Allah. You’re just full of good news tonight, aren’t you?

Next thing you know, you’ll be telling us about an Abba reunion, or a Michael Bay film festival.

As I stated in an earlier post, it appears my biggest concern is coming all together. The resurrection of the Soviet Union…but this time with a twist. Remember the ill-fated attempt of the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 80′s? Why didn’t this work? Socialism and fascism are brothers, so one has to ask why the Afghans didn’t accept the invasion. One glaring reason; religion. The Russian style of totalitarianism excluded religion. Islamo-fascism is based on the extreme-perversion of a religion. They believe in the same economic collective, and basically the same social restraint and oppression. If you have the Soviets acquiesce(did I mangle that word or what)on agnosticism, then you have in place the new axis of the new World War. Russia, Iran, and China. In working together they each get from the other what they need. China gets it’s oil from Iran, while Iran gets military secrets from China. Iran gets military(nukes)from Russia and Russia gets oil from Iran(and access to the other oil-fields in the Middle East). They all three seek dominance over the Gulf region. By standing together, China and Russia really get what they want…a weakened and defeated America. Events are seemingly coming together to make this a reality. The jounalists murdered over the last few years and now this spy-poisoning, Russia and Putin(KGB) are back in business. Russia and China conducting joint military operations together. China and Russia not suffering any terrorist attacks over the last two years. Could it be an agreement has been reached by these nations to squeeze the U.S. out of the top-dog status it has held for all these years? It’s not as crazy as it sounded two years ago, nor even two weeks ago…….

That’s amazing.

And as Russia advances headlong into being a Muslim-majority country, there may be a whole new dimension to the Putin/Litvinenko “poisoning”.

Put simply, Putin could be the white hat or at least blameless and Litvinenko our deadly enemy.

This seems to satisfy Occam’s Razor.

Why choose a relatively huge quantity of an extremely expensive rare and easily trackable radioactive isotope?

Why?

Because it may have been no poisoning. It may have been contamination while transporting radioactive isotopes for use in a dirty bomb or nuclear trigger.

Litvinenko had recently converted to Islam, let’s not forget, and had ties to Chechen fighters.

AJ Strata has the theory, and I think he’s on to something.

If we try to sterilize the Muslims, though, we’ll probably get yelled at.

frankj on December 3, 2006 at 10:23 PM

ritethinker, you are at odds with what seems increasingly obvious: political structures matter a lot less than DEMOGRAPHICS: The country is a reverse-population-bomb exploding in slow-motion, literally fading away like the Cheshire Cat in those Alice in Wonerland books.

It won’t matter what the Russian elite wants, or whether they are commie or fascist or democrats or neo-nationalist-nazis, or whatever. Muslims have only one god, and that pedophile moon-worshipper is his prophet. If Russians continue to die early and not have children while Moose-lims continue to crank out babies at a record pace, Russia as you and I have known it will no longer exist

The only hope of the Russian people ( if they can’t kick-start their birthrate ) is to detach those areas of central Asia where Muslims are concentrated. But without reproducing themselves, even such a drastic measure will only be a stop-gap.

Communism and the USSR are gone; soon the autocrataic bureaucracy of Russia will probably follow

Putin should have built a border fence I guess. This wouldn’t be the first time population was used as a weapon of war and it won’t be the last.

Buzzy on December 3, 2006 at 11:45 PM

2050? Hmmm, I think I’ve heard that number before.

Oh yes, that is the year that the US Census Bureau has projected that caucasians in the US will be the first racial majority of a nation in world history to willingly give up their majority status without a war.

Perchant on December 3, 2006 at 11:55 PM

…for the last 90 or so years, the Russians have had an amazing talent for “solving” demographic “anomalies”…and deleting demographic surpluses.

It should be something to see.

Puritan1648 on December 4, 2006 at 12:01 AM

The Russians won’t deal with their slow decline in as elegant and pacifist a way as the EU will. They don’t believe in the one-world, peace-at-all-cost, PC, international laws, etc. bullpucky.

The Muslim is using breeding and population as a method of conquest.

Why fight when they can just breed themselves into conquest and facilite the takeover of the Islamofacist?

tomas on December 3, 2006 at 8:55 PM

In the contemporary West, women have “reproductive” rights, while under Islam, men have reproductive rights. One sees which side has had the greater success.

Has anyone picked up a copy of Allan Bloom’s The Closing of the American Mind lately and reviewed his remark on men and ownership? There’s a free, one-year subscription to HotAir.com waiting for the first person to find and quote the passage.
