Yawn: Olby smears O’Reilly over Iraq war claim

posted at 1:05 pm on December 2, 2006 by Allahpundit

This is so typical of Olbermann that it barely warrants a post, but the shamelessness of this particular distortion and Media Matters’s apparent role in feeding it to him push it over the top. Those of you who don’t read Olby Watch don’t realize how heavily our modern-day Edward R. Murrow depends upon the nutroots and left-wing spin outlets for his content, which is fine except for the fact that he’s either too lazy or too stupid to fact-check their crap before he puts it on the air. And so this happens. O’Reilly claimed recently that he had called for the U.S. to impose law and order on Baghdad on the very day that Saddam’s statute fell. WRONG!, says Olby, O’Reilly said no such thing that day. True — it turns out that O’Reilly said it in the very next program. He had misremembered the timeline by two days. Could Keith have checked that? Yes. Did he? Maybe. Did he mention it on air? No.

I blame Media Matters, though, not Olbs. As someone once said, if a man gives a gun to a chimp and the chimp shoots someone, you don’t blame the chimp.

Olbermann’s penis envy with regard to O’Reilly is really getting tedious.

Yawn is right.

Is it possible that O’Reilly taped the show on the day he claimed he “said it?” If so, it makes this slander even more off base.

Now wait just a gosh darned minute! George Soros’ lickspittle at Media Matters have never been wrong about anything.

Harumph!

A chimp banging on a keyborad would produce more lucid thoughts than Olberdunce.

Chimps feel indignant.

A chimp would probably have typos as well, like yours truly.

Chimps are outraged!

We are still giving olby blog-time

Ouabam on December 2, 2006 at 2:31 PM

Is there a way to measure NEGATIVE ratings: the number of TV sets which are turned off whenever OlberMonkey comes on, in addition to the Known Fact that no one watches this sh*t?

A whole new avenue of media research could open up here: the number of people watching OlberAsshole is ( like him ) LESS THAN ZERO

No comment. Just isn’t worth it anymore.

rmgraha on December 2, 2006 at 2:50 PM

I dont see Olberman as a chimp that is unfair ?

An obnoxious poop flinging Babboon maybe but not a chimp.

What a meanless existence…

meaningless… duh.

maintenanceman on December 2, 2006 at 3:28 PM

This guy spews anything for attention. News! Ha thats laughable, this dude still thinks he’s calling the play by play at some sporting event. Facts don’t matter, if he makes a bad call he can always go to the instant replay. What a chimp!

sonnyspats1 on December 2, 2006 at 3:35 PM

Calling this a$$hole a clown would be insulting to the clowns of this world.

hillbillyjim on December 2, 2006 at 5:32 PM

as i have said before, who cares what olby says or does.
nobody views his show.

Hey guys, in regards to the chimps, let’s not forget the example of the Gieco/caveman commercials. We all know how hurtful that was to the cavemen, hell one of them even lost his appetite. Imagine how distressed the chimp community would become if they found out they were used as a comparison/contrast with “Olber-Dash”. A little respect for the chimps please, no Olber-doin it here……

What about his “team”? You know, doesn’t MSNBC supply him with staff, researchers, etc.? Or do they just give him the camera and let him go with it? I guess that actually wouldn’t be that surprising, considering it’s MSNBC we’re talking about, but that doesn’t make it okay.

RightWinged on December 2, 2006 at 6:39 PM

I always blame the chimp.

Precisely – that’s why I said the chimps feel indignant.

FOX Newswatch gave out the ‘turkey award’ last Sunday. Apparently Mr. Olbermann was indignant because his name was misspelled as “Olberman”, with one ‘n’. Today, FOX Newswatch corrected itself to stand by its original award, but by correctly showing Mr. Olbermann’s name next to the turkey.

Olberkind received his due respect folks; take notice!

Entelechy on December 3, 2006 at 12:58 AM

After MSNBC for Olby, there will always be Air America, or … oops, sorry, guess not.

laelaps on December 3, 2006 at 2:08 AM

According to Nielsen Media Research, Olby’s number are on the rise with 11,000 viewers more than Paula Zahn.

The measurements include all persons over the age of two??

Wow, Paula’s ratings dropped to 11,000 below Mr. Olberkind’s popularity. She must be in baaaad shape now.

…something my Daddy once told me…”Geeks think they’re cool. Cool people don’t care if they’re geeks”. This guy cares very deeply.

This is what you get when a sportscaster becomes a political pundit. He has watched to many coaches on the sidelines ranting and raving.
