All thanks and praise to the guys at Op-For for rescuing this from YouTube oblivion. The accent comes and goes but the funny abides.

Video Rescued by Allah. That was pretty damn funny, especially the UXO wrestling segment.

In 34 years, nothing has changed sense-of-humor-wise, from the Good Old Days in Two Corps. Without a sense of humor, fear either gets you killed or makes you almost worse than dead

That was hilarious. I’d never seen it before. Also a humorous salute to Steve Irwin.

thedecider on December 2, 2006 at 2:42 PM

I’m very glad to see that the men and women in uniform are maintaining a level flight in the midst of all of the media turbulence. A sense of humor goes a long way. Keep it up!

That’s fantastic, and I’ve left comments on a couple great blogs linking back to here.

On a more serious note, here is the best analysis of the war in Iraq you’re likely to find anywhere, Allahpundit.

Great vid. Thanks AllahPundit.

Absolutely great video, funny dialogue, and inventive, too. It’s nice to know that some things never change – like the sense of humor that keeps you going when far from home.

You have made the day of many brighter (mine included) – Thanks for the save, AP!

Cpl. Hodges is the new croc hunter! Very very funny lol. Those boys are doing a tough job. Thanks Allah. Thanks Cpl. Hodges and your crew for all you do.

Simply awesome. Stick that in your pipe, and smoke it, Murtha.

hillbillyjim on December 2, 2006 at 5:20 PM

Very funny. Everyone in my family was watching it. Very creative. I think Steve Irwin would have a gotten a kick out of it.

vcferlita on December 2, 2006 at 5:32 PM

YouTube shows this has had 6,080 views. I think that’s going to go up quite a bit thanks to OP-FOR and AP. God bless those guys over there.

I hope that’s a 155mm training aide that he’s wrestling with. Otherwise he’s dumber than Kerry thinks he is.

BohicaTwentyTwo on December 2, 2006 at 5:37 PM

robo on December 2, 2006 at 5:52 PM

I Love It

Opinionnation on December 2, 2006 at 10:16 PM

Not quite sure why there’s such a jarring edit when he talks about the Iraqi children; that being said, rather good attempt at the accent

Reaps on December 2, 2006 at 10:24 PM

You think about it, some of our great writers and creators ofr TV Sitcoms, Movies, etc, started when they were in the military.

StuLongIsland on December 2, 2006 at 11:40 PM

Maybe he’s talking about the IRaqi children that they’re taught to ignore because they may kill them but thought they didn’t want to be too anti-PC. I love it. I think he has a career in Hollywood waiting for him when he gets home. I think we can replace George Clooney with CPL Hodges for Sexiest Man Alive-A)he’s a real man, B) he has a helluva lot more talent then old George.

Catie96706 on December 2, 2006 at 11:46 PM

Good point Catie. George Looney could be replaced at any time and I’d be happy. I think the only movie he ever did worth seeing was “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou”? A great movie, indeed, and the only credit I can give him.

thedecider on December 3, 2006 at 1:17 AM

Uh oh- stand by for another stupid inquisition. The good corporal referred to an Iraqi as a “Hadji”. Can’t have that now, can we? NJP for all involved is definitely on the way…

rotorhead on December 3, 2006 at 2:26 AM

Maybe he’s talking about the IRaqi children that they’re taught to ignore because they may kill them but thought they didn’t want to be too anti-PC.

Uh, no.

Our soldiers do not kill children — ever. American soldiers in Iraq get mobbed by children all of the time because our soldiers make sure that they carry things that they can hand out to the children when it’s safe. Sometimes it becomes a bit too much when they get swarmed or are not prepared. It’s such a common thing that it is joked about — as in the video.

If we were killing children, I think they would figure it out and not come running in large groups every time they see a US soldier.

Iraqi families are very close, they are more protective of their children than we are. The fact that you can see any picture of an American soldier with groups of Iraqi children says an awful lot.

mesablue on December 3, 2006 at 6:53 AM

That just make my heart feel good. These kids are the best and yes, smart too.

CrankyNeocon on December 3, 2006 at 10:56 AM

A friend in the know says,

“IED Hunter was kind of funny. Also, an indication IEDs are not as effective now.”
