Anyone else notice a high pitched tone in the background when MKH speaks? I've noticed this on several of her videos.

Be a good little fella and stick it where the sun doesn't shine, Billy. Good dog!

That's not the point. I have a popup blocker. The principle is that Townhall is using a deceptive practice to show ads. In some security circles, "pop-under" ads because of their reliance on javascript directives are considered "browser hijacks," because malware and trojan horses can be installed as part of the loading of the hidden ad with the user's knowledge.

In addition, pop-up ads are hated by almost everybody who sees them, and does it do our cause any good that one of our premier web sites engages in a deceptive practice?

Great job MKH, and the timing was right on. Do a few more to wind up the leftoids and let them know that we accept them to cross over this time of year or anytime they feel in their heart (hopefully they have one) Merry Christmas to all and Peace come soon.

This is completely off topic, except that it relates to the spirit of Christmas.

In true Christian sense or humanitarian impulse, please let us all take a moment to pray and send our best wishes to the staff at CNET.com and to the family of senior editor, James Kim.

Mr. Kim and his 30-year old wife, Kati, and 4-year old daughter, Penolope, and 7-month old daughter, Sabine, are missing possibly due to inclement weather after a Thanksgiving road trip from San Fransisco to the Pacific Northwest.

National guard, federal, multiple state and local authorities are now searching for them.

Those of you who use the internet frequently may recognize CNET.com as the innovative technical review and tip company based in California. Their tech gadget and software reviews are top-notch, fun to watch (especially the videos and James Kim often uses his light-hearted sense of humor as well as his technical insight to help people learn the relative value and shortcomings of different things), and have saved me many a dollar or added enjoyment to my life as after watching/reading one of CNET's reviews, I've tried something I wouldn't have otherwise.

Considering CNET.com and James Kim's impact on the Internet, perhaps Hot Air could even consider doing a post on this?

Hunky Husband claims to have slept with every beautiful woman in Athens. While I know MK was a bit after his time, I would have been HONORED to share his loins with the likes of her.

I’m sorry. I am sick to death of you fair weather conservatives. I miss the days when the “Conservative Movement” consisted of Ronald Wilson Reagan, WF Buckley, and Judge Bork. Back in the day, we won 49 states; there were no “swing” states.
Now, we cling to GOTV efforts, hoping to hold on to a majority in one House, or the White House.
Take your “alternative media” andv Rush Limbaugh and #### yourself.
Turn off the internets ( and Talk Radio) and read a book.

You've got a point, but I fear to the wrong audience. I would wager that most of the audience here is relatively literate and do keep up on their current events.

For instance, I have read Cobra by General Bernard Trainor, Jawbreaker by Corbin Berntsen, A Hand to Guide Me by Denzel Washington in the last couple of weeks, and am working on War on the Middle Class by Lou Dobbs as well as King Solomon's Mines by Rider Haggard.

None of which means much other than what I read - I am sure that compared to some here, that is lightweight fare. It is, however, illustrative of the fact that folks here do read (some of us remember the intertube :) )

This does not include the posts, news articles on various news sources, etc..

Books are good for opposing and varied viewpoints (try reading the latest by Carville/Begala, you won't be real disappointed), but as far as print media is concerned - It's old befroe it hits the stand and is therefore close to worthless - if you're lucky, you can find an occasional article that is relevant, but that is rare.

It's not so much that people want another of this or that - it's that they want integrity, honesty, and accountability in government and in the way that government moderates and regulates the affairs of state and of the country.

The net, blogs, etc.. are but informational tools to be utilized both to inform and to intelligently exchange ideas, thoughts, etc..

I'm not a big fan of much talk radio either, though, due to overwhelming negativity and repitition. Also, depending on the host, their take, like print, is old before it hits. It's almost like listening to Congress.

To be fair, some are engaging and informative - that's rare in our area (Central Ohio) where most of the media is owned and controlled by one family. That doesn't make for much in the way of diversity or the true exchange of ideas.

So until then, quit hatin' technology and enjoy expanded learning!

and start being part of the solution.

So… is there any particular reason that our favorite lefty, the lovely KP, hasn’t made an appearance lately? It’s like after the elections she disappeared.

Speaking of disappearing, has anyone seen Bethany lately?

Okay. I'll admit it: "I want another Reagan"
George H. W. Bush a "moderate" crushed Dukakis in '88. George W. Bush barely snuck past J F'ng Kerry. What has changed?

Dear Mary Katherine,

While I love your "hamnation" videos, townhall has begun a practice that I personally abhor -- pop-under ads. For those who don't know, a pop-under ad is an advertisement opened UNDERNEATH the web page being looked at. So that when the original web page is closed, the advertisement is right there, and in your face. I consider such behavior tantamount to an attempt at "browser hijacking."

It is one thing to place ads on a page, it is quite another to hide ads underneath a web page that already has numerous ads on it. Yes, I have software that blocks the content of the ads in the pop-unders, but it is the underhanded nature of it that offends me.

Sorry, but I won't be back. Nor will I read any other columnist or blogs at townhall as long as you continue the practice.

Warm Regards,

So MKH is the problem, billy?

Do you not remember that the Democrats controlled congress throughout, Jimmy Carter was just president and Bill Clinton soon would be?

Things happen in cycles. Not everyone is Reagan. Good leaders are rare and great ones rarer, but they've happened before and will happen again.

Do we all just give up until Reagan -- whom MKH, Rush Limbaugh, and myself admire -- or his like appears on the scene again?

Why not lead yourself, billy?
