No surprise after she torpedoed Hastings and Harman. He’s a Vietnam vet, a former Border Patrol officer, and once served as chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. Plus, he’s got the “right ideas” about immigration.
Just to balance it out, here’s a little Tancredomania for our true believers. The feud with Jeb is over — for now.
Update: The boss reminds us of a skeleton in Reyes’s closet. And Dan Riehl says heckuva job, Silvy.

I love how he disagrees with Bush’s amnesty program because it doesn’t offer enough amnesty.
Hay Caramba!

The one good thing about losing Congress? We’re on the offensive now.

Be interesting to see how the DUms and the KOStics react. I can’t bear to see for myself though.

Depressing that, as ameripundit said, “We’re on the offensive now.” We should have been on the offensive for the last 2 years…so much could have been accomplished. I wish it didn’t take Republicans in power having their backs against a wall before they stretch and shuffle out of their inaction.

Well I’m so glad the feud is over; I was losing sleep.
Also on the bright side, we FINALLY have someone in charge who has the “right ideas”. I am filled with feelings of safety and security.
Where was it again that Michelle reported on the 9/11 hijackers and how they got their fake IDs? Oh well, must not have been important or I’m sure I would remember.

Has anyone notified the president?

This committee is all Hispanic & all democrats, which sounds very well balanced to me./BIG SARC/
Does our new intel leader bring this same type of open-mindedness and balance to spooksville now?
Say good-bye to the southwest, our new intel committee chair wont even bother to look at the border to our south, just let ‘em in.
Does Atzlan now have a foothold with someone in a position with exceptional power.
Islam also has taken their first steps into US congress.
What , Me worry? Nah

Buy on the rumor, sell on the news.

I agree. We should have been playing both Defensive and Offensive this whole time, and especially now.

Liked the Fightin’ Words: Congressman Tom’s Greatest Hits from the Tancredomania link above.

this is vaguely tolerable

Congressional Hispanic Caucus? I demand to know if there is a Congressional WASP Caucus! After all, we are the minority here.

who?
I knew jane harmon was screwed when i saw her on meet the depressed (props to m.levin) and she didn’t bad mouth the president. so the republican guest and the dem guest were both on the same page. Good thing russert was there to bash the administration and provide some balance.
That is his job right? to bash the administration?

From the frying pan into the fire.

…watch out for Reyes.
On his pager, linked above, he uses the phrase “fail to present a comprehensive plan”. That’s Reconquista and Democratic Newspeak for “hasn’t yet caved and given us everything we wanted”.

This is not surprising. The Dem win will have far-reaching disastrous consequences for our national security, economy, etc…
And ALL Americans will be “taught a lesson” - not just the Republicans. *shudder*

Right - it seems more and more that it is his job - and he does it well, that “providing balance” thing!
