This sort of allegation that our National News Media would attempt to sweep something like this under the rug is outrageous! I call upon Allahpundit to apologize at once for his slanderous and unfair characterization of the U.S. media as being willing to minimize or disregard allegations of sexual abuse of this sort.

I know for a fact that our MSM is relentless in searching out and exposing wrong-doing by military forces who abuse the public trust. Just look at the response of the MSM to the abuses in Abu Ghraib! Lyddie England and her boyfriend Charles Graner were on the front page of almost every paper in America! For abusing grown up Iraqis who were accused of being insurgents! Surely the actual rape of innocent children would attract the same level of attention, right?

Let’s just look at the Washington Post Article Allahpundit linked to. I’m sure it is on the front page, above the fold, right?

Excellent point JasonG, I meant to get back to that, but got off track thinking about what a POS the UN is.

Seriously, even though the worldwide UN continued sex scandal has been called “the UN’s Abu Ghraib”, it is FAR WORSE THAN ABU GHRAIB. Let’s see, naked terrorists in a pyramid while a redneck girl points at them and THOUSANDS of little girls being raped, impregnated, and filmed by the UN ALL OVER THE WORLD. Yeah, those are the same.

Quick, someone put in a FOIA request for the rest of the Abu Ghraib photos, and NY Times, it’s time to get back on the 65 Abu Ghraib stories in 70 days run again (or whatever it was). Move, move, move! We can’t let the public outrage fall where it truly should.

The travesty here isn’t that the UN is failing to prevent every crime before it’s occurred, it’s that the suspects are free to act with near-impunity.

I posted a round-up on the UN’s Worldwide Rape in May. IT goes beyond Liberia and Haiti, to Congo among others. My lengthy post is here. I even had a commenter claim to be a former UN volunteer who’s contract was cancelled when she tried to complain about one of her fellow volunteers being raped by a higher up. She agreed that the UN needs to be disolved and replaced with a body that holds itself accountable.

But it wasn’t just a few isolated incidents. It was THOUSANDS of little girls. They’ve been raping, impregnating, and filming sex with children around the globe for a long time. I’m having trouble running across it at the moment, but I’m quite sure these issues were also problems in Bosnia, etc.

He is a disgrace to Africa. They wake up every morning to talk about Israel, instead of Sudan.

For the record, I was being sarcastic.

At the time, the U.N.’s top official in Cambodia, Yasushi Akashi, played down the gravity of the allegations, saying, “Boys will be boys.”

Imagine the furious sh*tstorm that would be hurled down upon a commander of our troops if he’d made a similar statement about a similar situation.

NOW and other feminist groups would be calling for his head. The NYT and other papers would “flood the zone” with calls for his resignation and congressional hearings into what went wrong.

With the UN? Not so much.
