Drunken troll calls Bush “numbnuts” on The View; Update: Troll apologizes to Barbara Walters

posted at 2:34 pm on November 29, 2006 by Allahpundit

Every day I tape this idiotic show. Every day. And the one day something happens that ends up on Drudge, my g-ddamned Tivo chokes on it.

Newsbusters has a short clip that captures the flavor. He’s short, he’s drunk, he hates Bush. The comedy writes itself.

Judging from Rosie’s reaction, this is the funniest thing she’s ever seen. Click the image to watch.

Update: He’s formally apologized to Barbara for being the most entertaining thing ever to happen to that program.

Isn’t there anyone in Hollywood I can watch without wanting to throw up anymore? Lieutenant Dan is the only one that comes to mind. That’s all I have to say about that…

lan astaslem on November 29, 2006 at 2:38 PM

Hilarious!

Please, by all means, all you celebrities and liberals that want to come out into the open and tell us what you really think? Please. Please proceed!

How about a little early morning debate between Condoleeza and DeVito?

Rosetta on November 29, 2006 at 2:38 PM

I was wondering why Drudge beat you to this one.

You’re hooked aren’t you?

vcferlita on November 29, 2006 at 2:39 PM

That’ll learn you to tape “The View”. It’s far better to tape “The Vent”.

This wormy little jerk is just more Hollywood trash.

Just saw this on Drudge.

Glad someone keeps up with stupid people tricks.

Get back in your cage louie.

His new holiday film, Deck the Halls, was horribly panned on last weeks Ebert and Roeper.

The Ugly American on November 29, 2006 at 2:53 PM

Yup,so glad he hates the fact that he and Clooney can go out drinking and not have to worry about being blown up , arrested or killed for spouting off against the leaders. We’ve gone how long w/o an attack on our soil?
More inbred maroons that assume their liberties are owed to them for free.

Here is someone else that would be working in a coal mine if he didn’t have the ability to read words that someone else writes. POS

DoctorDentons on November 29, 2006 at 2:55 PM

Though the earlier bit Rosie did on The Post’s “Bimbo Summit” was a bit of a chuckler ; )

The Ugly American on November 29, 2006 at 2:56 PM

Fat, drunk, and four feet tall is no way to go through life.

You’ve surmised that because he doesn’t like Bush and shows this dislike by doing bad, drunken impressions that he somehow hates freedom?

JaHerer22 on November 29, 2006 at 3:01 PM

Oh, that kind of troll. I see.

I wonder what he thinks of Arnold.

What we need is a love scene starring Rosie and Danny – play it in all the 7th grade health classes and abstinence will be all the rage for the next generation!

Dearest Allahpundit:

We find your characterization of Danny Devito as a “drunken troll” to be demeaning and offensive. We demand a full apology, and several cases of Old Milwaukee (as restitution).

I try and try not to believe the stereotypes…and now this.

What is with all the anger, vitriole and irrational behavior? Can we legalize marijuana now before we have a “Scanners” scenario?

budorob on November 29, 2006 at 3:30 PM

He took his clothes off? Now that’s a vision I don’t need to see…Poor Louie…best Bush impersonation I’ve ever seen…?

JetBoy on November 29, 2006 at 3:32 PM

I don’t care so much about Danny making a fool out of himself.

What I care about is him doing it on national television thereby embarrasing the nation. But Rosie is on every day embarrassing the nation, so what does it matter that Danny is taking his turn?

Lawrence on November 29, 2006 at 3:39 PM

Hmmm, I can only imagine what he and Clooney were talking about the night before.

Rick on November 29, 2006 at 3:42 PM

Gad, I used to kinda like the guy.

DeVito,

“I was lucky to visit the White House when it had that Clinton feeling.”

So true.

First rule of intern training …. duck and cover.

fogw on November 29, 2006 at 4:25 PM

His impression of Bush’s poor communication skills were the most cogent part of his appearance according to my wife, who now says she has watched The View for the very last time.

Thank you, Danny, for your service to my family. Now go away.

Yup,so glad he hates the fact that he and Clooney can go out drinking and not have to worry about being blown up , arrested or killed for spouting off against the leaders.

You’ve surmised that because he doesn’t like Bush and shows this dislike by doing bad, drunken impressions that he somehow hates freedom?

JeHerer22, you know, sometimes you navigate awfully close to lucidity. This isn’t one of those times. The sarcastic quoted comment is precisely that he doesn’t hate freedom, but that he, like so many others, is clueless about how those freedoms are maintained. They aren’t just there because we feel them, they must be guarded by men with guns backed by the law. If you don’t believe that, then go live in a French Sensitive Urban Zone.

The women who watch the View remind of the the same women who watch Oprah.

“Stepford”-esque, and do whatever they’re told to do whilst nodding their heads in approval.

Well, another Hezbollywood star has managed to lose my respect.

Dave R. on November 29, 2006 at 4:34 PM

Ok, the update link made me chuckle:

Rosenfeld said he has no idea whether DeVito was drunk during his appearance but emphasized that the actor has never had a problem with drinking.

I believe this statement, if he had a “problem with drinking” it’d be hard to be that drunk.

DeVito to attend rehab for drinking in Arizona in 3… 2…

Update: He’s formally apologized to Barbara for being the most entertaining thing ever to happen to that program.

Bah. This is bad pre-opening pub… The Danny DeVito equivalent of Britney flashing her hoo-ha in advance of the Bimbo Summit, which was, prima facie, a herald of her return to “relevance”.

You’ve surmised that because he doesn’t like Bush and shows this dislike by doing bad, drunken impressions that he somehow hates freedom? — JaHerer22

…no…by being a drunken, miserable, loud-mouthed jerk on national TV, bad-mouthing the chief of state, he’s pissing all over his freedom is all.

This one-upping on “The View”, seeing who can top Rosie at being a talentless, smart-alecky moron is getting old. It’s like watching national values and civil discourse experiencing a long, slow train-wreck.

Interesting downward trend in Box Office Receipts since 2002, about the time I began to notice my own annoyance growing with the hezbollywood traitors like Clooney, DeVito, Sarandon, Robbins, Penn, Baldwin, et al, date-coincident with when my wife and I stopped going out to the movies. Hell, I’m just about fed up with Leno at this point, for that matter. Dammit.

The link has a lot of very interesting info on what we as an entertainment-consumer public are willing to pay for – Hezbollywooders need to get hit with a big fat cluebat.

Benthoven on November 29, 2006 at 10:20 PM

Sorry I’m late to the party, but I just watched this.
Not only were his remarks about our President appalling, but his comments about staying in the Lincoln Bedroom in the Clinton White House were even worse and more disrespectful about what is Our House.
What is wrong with these soi-disant entertainers that they have to air their juvenile, ill-formed, even more poorly-conceived Leftist political opinions instead of their alleged talents?
At my house, we don’t go to the movies or watch very much that’s “current” any more; it’s Turner Classic Movies and buying DVDs of movies from the ’40s, ’50s and 60s for us.
I can’t watch these people anymore in anything without literally getting acid reflux.
