Well said, Bryan.

Melba Toast on November 27, 2006 at 8:28 AM

Good work, Mr Preston.

I like how you are able to talk about such an annoying, tedious topic whilst keeping a straight face and without raising your voice - I know I couldn’t :)

Isn’t it funny that Hastings probably couldn’t get a clearance to work as a schoolteacher, police officer, soldier (and so on) let alone become the head of the congressional advisory of United States’ national secrets?! Words fail.

lazerua on November 27, 2006 at 8:29 AM

Fox News just wants to ask controversial questions? What does the Democrat leadership want to do? Witch hunts, fostering corruption, undermining positive programs? As far as Hastings is concerned, I personally have denied security clearances for less. But, if they gave Bill Clinton a clearance, why not Hastings?

DAT60A3 on November 27, 2006 at 8:46 AM

Somehow, I don’t think Barney even beleives what he is saying.

bloggless on November 27, 2006 at 9:04 AM

We knew this would happen and have no one to blame but ourselves.

Aunt B on November 27, 2006 at 9:05 AM

Wonder what Barney’s payoff will be for backing ‘Lugosi’? Maybe homosexual marriage?

Wade on November 27, 2006 at 9:19 AM

Thanks, Bryan. This topic needs more air time than it’s getting. Keep the heat on.

jdpaz on November 27, 2006 at 9:48 AM

Stop being nice, people. Take your anger with the Liberati to the street. The disgusting Liberal neighbor with that smug smile? Tell him he can borrow somebody else’s ladder to hang his “holiday” lights.

They are going to make the next two years hell. No need to be nice to the foot soldiers who put them there.

seejanemom on November 27, 2006 at 9:52 AM

Tell him he can borrow somebody else’s ladder to hang his “holiday” lights.

What holiday lights, festivus?

Wade on November 27, 2006 at 9:58 AM

Its amazing that somebody convicted of fraud can represent us. Why is this legal?

infidel on November 27, 2006 at 9:59 AM

Why does this surprise anyone? The Dems lie, cheat and steal, so apparently Nancy feels most comfortable surrounded by those who are accomplished at those virtues.

BuckLEA on November 27, 2006 at 10:04 AM

Its amazing that somebody convicted of fraud can represent us. Why is this legal?

infidel

Are you kidding? If we started weeding out the corrupt politicians there would be no one left to represent us.

Benaiah on November 27, 2006 at 10:59 AM

Fraud?

Who in the Democrat party engaged in fraud?

Also, who in the Democrat Party is racist?

No one, right?

William

William2006 on November 27, 2006 at 11:21 AM

When she drained the swamp, did she find Murtha and Hastings? Letting these morons run the show is like letting a monkey drive your new car on the expressway. I don’t know if I can laugh about all the certain catastrophies over the next two years or longer. I find myself wanting to drill a hole in my forehead when I see these fine examples of dumbocratic leadership.

Vanquisher on November 27, 2006 at 11:30 AM

Brian, Why not play a little joke, and just introduce yourself as Michelle, and see who’s paying attention?

Fox asking controversial questions? Well, then why did you bob and weave and dodge the questions like Rocky?

They want an impeached judge… I guess they want to impeach Bush because they really like him after all…

Mazztek on November 27, 2006 at 11:38 AM

Oh they have their own agenda? wow. Why can’t they just be part of the country and help win this ugly damn war on terror we didn’t ask for? We are a country divided against itself and its no wonder we can’t get anything done. Well, back to Dem control…oh goody… stoneage here we come.

johnnyU on November 27, 2006 at 11:39 AM

BTW, that KEY looks great. It really looks like your actually sitting in a room in front of a computer screen.

:)

Seriously though, good job sitting in for the boss….

johnnyU on November 27, 2006 at 11:49 AM

Alcee Hastings was and continues to be a damned disgrace. The MOST disgusting part is these fools keep getting elected! I still dont know what happened at the last vote. Perhaps it was ‘the PEOPLE” sending a MESSAGE. I hope that is all it was and will be corrected in 2008. If not, God Help Us All for we are surely doomed.

labwrs on November 27, 2006 at 12:03 PM

Great job Brian. keep ‘em coming.

I find it interesting that Mr Frank would speculate, ala Clinton, on Chris Wallaces’ tone. Could it be that the clintenistas will always call into question the motives behind certain inquiries from Mr Wallace when they don’t like this question or that one?

“Really Chris, you should be ashamed of yourself for even asking that!”

As for Mr Hastings, I would really like to see him nominated for the chair if only to be “shot down” by his not being able to get a security clearance. Now that would be fun to watch! Come on Nancy, pull that trigger!!

JohnnyD on November 27, 2006 at 12:20 PM

Vanquisher,

Letting these morons run the show is like letting a monkey drive your new car on the expressway.

Even better.

mikeyboss on November 27, 2006 at 12:33 PM

Worst peaker ever? You can tell that after only two weeks? Pretty bold statement without any evidence.

GregH on November 27, 2006 at 12:35 PM

I didn’t say “Worst peaker ever.” I said “may be the worst speaker in decades.”

As for evidence, just look at the two battles Pelosi has picked, and the positions those battles put her own party in. Then look at the implications of putting a corruptocrat in charge of House Intel.

Bryan on November 27, 2006 at 12:38 PM

Correction noted - however, I do still believe that the jury is out on her effectiveness as Speaker. Seems a bit premature to be slamming her after just two weeks. Let’s give her some time to screw everything up before condemnation.

GregH on November 27, 2006 at 12:46 PM

You can tell that after only two weeks?

She isn’t even on the job yet, but it’s clear that she doesn’t command the respect of her caucus. If they don’t even trust her judgement, how can she possibly be an effective Speaker?

Pablo on November 27, 2006 at 12:52 PM

DAT60A3,JohnnyD

Is there any security clearance that Hastings needs as Intel Chair above that which he may already have been issued as a Representative?

If so, is there any chance Mme Spkr doesn’t already know about it and the results

eeyore on November 27, 2006 at 2:37 PM

Screen glitch “submit”
meant to say “If so, is there any chance Mme Spkr doesn’t already know about it and what the results would likely be.”

eeyore on November 27, 2006 at 2:41 PM

Brian.. very well done. I can see you are not just another pretty face. :-)

Spot On, Brian!

Another great Vent.

Lawrence on November 27, 2006 at 5:41 PM

Super job Brian.

Michele? Michele who?

UnEasyRider on November 27, 2006 at 6:23 PM

A Masterful job, Brian!

Well done!

Jack.

Jack Deth on November 27, 2006 at 7:41 PM

Who knew that before the election, when Pelosi kept talking about the “culture of corruption”, she meant that it was her goal to create one. Somehow this message was reversed in the MSM.

Resolute on November 27, 2006 at 8:25 PM

Nicely done Brian. I love the Bwarney Fwank clip. Let’s talk about tax fairness and the environment. Yes, that’s the burning issue out in America…I don’t want to know about a corrupt judge being appointed to the intelligence committee; I want to talk about the latest statistics in cow flatulence. And this is all we have to look forward to…John McCain will hammer the final nails into the coffin that Jorge Arbusto has put the GOP in…and we’ll have nothing but this batch of monkeys engaged in football fornication to watch..at least until the cavemen strike again. What a downer…nice vent though.

austinnelly on November 27, 2006 at 9:23 PM

Good to see you on a vent again Bryan. You’re definitely not a novice at this trade.

If the times wouldn’t be so serious, I’d say “let them proceed” and “why point this out?”.

Alas, the times are sober and s/b sobering, and we are the laughing stock of the world. Some confidence we must inspire…We sure are teaching someone a lesson - I just don’t know what it is.

Entelechy on November 27, 2006 at 9:37 PM

Great Vent Brian! We need this type of Vent that is well thought out, with relevant material, and that is well presented.

I say again, the Left will do unto themselves as no one else can. This is only the beginning of 24 months of nonsense by the Left, get to used to it, and please tell me no one here was surprised.

We on the right should make use of this opportunity by giving the electorate a clear choice. After being disgusted with the Left, and seeing a glimpse of what they really are, the contrast will be to the advantage of the right.

Well thought out positions, presented in a polite and rational manner, by the right will go a long way to providing the electorate with a clear choice to the mistake they have made in this last election.

omegaram on November 27, 2006 at 9:43 PM

Way to go, Brian! Great exposure and great coverage of the issue on Hot Air!

I can’t help but think that either way Pelosi will come out a loser on this one. If she sticks with Hastings, her fellow Dems (at least the reasonable ones) will be in a bind, and we may see a party revolt, making Pelois 0-2 on the nominee front. If she gets her way, the long-term perfomance of Hastings will be a drag on all the Dems ‘08 aspirations. Unfortunately, the downside of this is our country will have to suffer through the mess. If that’s the case, here’s hoping Joe Lieberman can save the day.

Pablo on November 27, 2006 at 12:52 PM

Exactly. Peaker Peloser has dreamed of this, and she had months to plan and prepare for the first few weeks (or even the first 100 hours) and after all that time and planning and thought, SHE BLOWS IT BIG TIME! ( maybe she spent too much time thinking about frickin CURTAINS?)
Her ‘team’ is tired of defending her, even Barney was looking a little purple around the gils.
First impressions, right out of the starting gate, the foundation of her office, there are many other profoundly appropriate sayings of the importance of beginning something correctly.
I’d say Bryan hit the bullseye, peaker peloser will spend most of her term climbing out of the crater she dug.

The DimWits advertise many, many investigations,
claiming lots of scandals.
OK, how about starting with Nancy P. herself
and her hiring of illegal immigrants.

Why is everyone on Hotair TV so beautiful and smart!

Maybe Brian can host “Press Play” if Bethany does not recover from the elections.
