Chavez: Re-elect me to defeat the devil

“We are confronting the devil, and we will hit a home run off the devil next Sunday,” said Chavez, who ruffled feathers in October by calling President Bush the devil in remarks at the United Nations.
“On December 3 we’re going to defeat the most powerful empire on earth by knockout,” Chavez said.
This coming from the guy who wants to rule Venezeula for the next 25 years.
I won’t go as far to say Chavez is declaring war on the United States, but when will we draw the line?

What’s wrong with the link?Obviously, I know what’s wrong with the link. That’s just a way of asking for it to be fixed.

well, if Chavez wants a war, then all the U.S. has to do is send a couple of nuke missles towards Venezeula….
Starblazer on November 27, 2006 at 1:10 AM
or at least threaten Chavez with a couple of nuke missles, if he really wants a war with the U.S.

Don’t you just love the way he talks about himself in the third person? I can just picture him ordering breakfast…
“Chavez will have bacon and eggs. Chavez wants the eggs sunny side up. And don’t burn Chavez’s toast again, amigo, if you know what’s good for you.”

At some point the rhetoric of Chavez will produce actions that are detrimental to the United States. Until that time Chavez is a discontent with limited effect.
The solution to combating the likes of Chavez is economic and political, not military, at this time.
Development of alternative energy sources, such as fission and hydrogen, that will remove much of his funding – and with it the public support he enjoys from the poor will go a long way to eliminating Chavez’s influence. Direct economic competition to that which Venezuela provides, and cutting off it’s hard currency supply, is the most effective method of reducing Chavez’s influence at this time.
International politics are based to great degree on economic and military realities. To the degree that the United States is successful in economic competition to reduce funding to Venezuela political cooperation from those in the area will surely follow.
The notion of military action to “nuke them all and let God sort them out” is not realistic nor morally acceptable. I believe that Chavez is too smart to challenge the United States in a direct military confrontation.
The key to minimize Chavez and encourage him to fade away is to remove his funding through development of realistic alternative energy sources and direct economic competition.

I’m amazed that an al-Reuters story calls Chavez-speak “leftist rhetoric”
The pot calling the kettle black; amazing that those idiot-clowns actually cite an obvious fact. THey’ve gone from being 99% F.O.S. to 98%: idiot-progress
and yes, Chavez needs a ‘Columbian Necktie’

Well what’s it gonna be chubby, baseball or boxing? Can you even make an analogy that doesn’t involve American sports? Here’s a better analogy for ya: 1 inch groups at 200 meters with a .308, your face as the target.

Chavez is one of those people that make say that it is nice being a dictator. See you 2031 suckers.

“Hit a home run off the devil”?
Mix a metaphor why don’t ya, Hugo?

That should be “Saturday Night Fever”.

Omeg is correct, but wouldn’t it be more fun if the we sent the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan to steam pass Chavez’s coastline and he ordered his shiney new MiGs to attack her? Watching those MiGs get splashed by Navy Hornets might prevent another war and lead to Chavez being overthrown or just behaving himself like Mohmar K’Daffy. How perfect would it be for the Reagan to be that ship? Hopefully we won’t hafta bomb his house like we did in Libya, but hey, if that’s what it takes! Just to replay the situation in the 80s, the Air Force could “accidently” drop one on the French embassy again. “Oooooops! Sorry, my bad!”

He does need a good scare – like a few SEALS sitting in his bedroom when he walks in to welcome him.

The Chavezzz Agenda:
1. Rid his country and the world of crop circles
2. To be able to sit through the full “Halloween” movie without covering his eyes.
3. Same as Agenda item 2 but for “Jaws”.
4. Bring back 8-track tapes
5. To finally get the name of that American woman who keeps showing up at his house.
6. To build an even larger Lego Death Star.
7. To help Luke accept Vader as his father.
8. Become a card carrying member of the Film Actors Guild.
9. To build the largest Micro-Machines attack force ever assembled through the use of nanotechnology and magic dust.
10. To defeat the devil and takeover as earth’s supreme underlord.

Who cares? Chavez is nothing. Block Citgo imports and Venezuela goes bankrupt. *shrug*
And what exactly does “draw the line” mean? After we “draw the line” and he crosses it, then what?
Theworldisnotenough on November 27, 2006 at 2:45 PM
Well, people around Beantown think the Citgo sign is such an eyesore anyway, so let’s take it down!
