Video: Contessa Brewer compares imams booted from flight to Rosa Parks; Update: Tucker Carlson unloads on CAIR

Remember that wave of suicide bus bombings by civil rights activists in Montgomery in the early 1950s? Neither does Robert Spencer.

It’s nice to see Ibrahim Hooper so happy, though.

Update: Not everyone on MSNBC is this stupid. LGF has video of Tucker Carlson hammering a CAIR spokesman for the group’s exploitation of this incident.

We have not gone “all back of the bus” on them in any way.
I found out today in Coulter’s column that three of them had one way tickets and no checked in luggage.Say too many red flags to ignore on that bunch.

Contessa used to do local news here in Milwaukee. Nice to see she made good.

And by “good” I mean lame.

But darn it, she’s still a sweetheart.

Enrique on November 22, 2006 at 6:57 PM

That’s so dumb I’m speechless.

ekuspa40 on November 22, 2006 at 6:57 PM

These imams hate America, praise suicide bombers, danced on 9-11 and support Usama bin Laden, and they wonder why normal people don’t like them.

JackM on November 22, 2006 at 6:59 PM

Darn, I already wasted my ’sheiks on a plane’ line on your old imam thread :(

The Rosa Parks comparison was just so out there…

CrimsonFisted on November 22, 2006 at 7:04 PM

She had that Parks quote at the top of her notes and it was waiting to be queued on screen by the producers… and she seemed excited to make the comparison.

So am I to assume that the whole point of this entire segment was to compare these Imams to Rosa Parks?

Gotta love MSNBC

CanaryinaCoalMine on November 22, 2006 at 7:23 PM

In a post-9/11 environment we have to be really careful about not singling people out and taking them off of airplanes.

Funny. In a post-9/11 environment, I thought we had to be really careful about not letting Muslim extremists hijack airplanes and drive them into buildings.

And this guy was the opposition point of view.

Laura on November 22, 2006 at 7:29 PM

Would a reference to the Weird Al parody, “Another One Rides the Bus” be too obvious?

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi: “Since September 11, many Muslim Americans have been subjected to searches at airports and other locations based upon their religion and national origin. We must make it illegal.”

If Pelosi goes that route, I would like to see her also allow passengers flying on non-refundable and promotional tickets be allowed to take the next available flight without incurring any additional costs when they deem the flight not to be secure. I could not imagine that Speaker Pelosi would agree that only the wealthy should be able to act when they perceive danger.

rw on November 22, 2006 at 7:49 PM

The only profiling was “Threat Profiling”. I frequently flew on a one-way ticket and was always thoroughly searched, at the counter as well as at the gate. I felt safer that they were at least trying to do their job and protect us. Just a guess, but absolute cooperation with security officials can turn a potential several hours of scrutiny into only only several minutes.

That reporter was obviously just mindlessly reading Liberal talking points when comparing this to Rosa Parks because the insertion of those comments doesnt even make sense after the Imam apologist claimed that the report of them refusing to leave thier seats was false!

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi: “Since September 11, many Muslim Americans have been subjected to searches at airports and other locations based upon their religion and national origin. We must make it illegal.”

Did she seriously say that? I don’t think that’s true at all. People have been searched based on their behavior, but not because of their religion or their national origin. Mineta has opposed any sort of racial profiling. It doesn’t happen.

see-dubya on November 22, 2006 at 8:26 PM

Mohammad never flew * -so why are his devoted imams flying?

’sounds as if they’re scoffing at the pedophile paragon of all Muslim virtues.

Allah ain’t gonna like that.

If these airborn Koranic scholars don’t have the collective brains of two year old peahen, and they can’t contain themselves theologically on public transportation -especially after a national terrorist calamity caused by their doppelganger brethren – then they’ve failed the mental smell test.

Just ship ‘em back to Mecca.

They can pray for the whole flight.

(We could start a national lottery to pay for the fares.)

Tucker argued very well. How nice of Arsalan Iftikhar to say

we’re just trying to make our societyeven better than is already is

…by claiming racisms, by fighting for the Blacks and the Jews. What a twisted mind these people have.

Tucker nailed it when he said “being wary of Muslims is not being racist, it’s the mannerisms…” or something similar.

Why don’t all people pray in silence in such public and sensitive areas.

And for all the liberals, how come all of a sudden defending prayer has become so important? But only for Muslims…

Entelechy on November 22, 2006 at 9:01 PM

True – I haven’t had anything alcoholic to drink…

s/b “we’re just trying to make our society even better than it already is”

…that’s why we are against the war in Iraq, bla, bla, bla…

Entelechy on November 22, 2006 at 9:03 PM

“We are concerned that crew members, passengers and security personnel may have succumbed to fear and prejudice based on stereotyping of Muslims and Islam 19 other Muslims who hijacked four passenger jets, broke into their cockpits and slit the throats of the pilots and co-pilots,” said CAIR’s executive director, Nihad Awad.

(my correction)

There, that’s better. Just saying …. Mr. A wad.

Here’s a thought for you all – if you are an American in another country (pick one out, it doesn’t matter much) and you say to your host country government, you must:

1. Print your signs in my language because I don’t understand yours and, frankly don’t care to learn to..

2. Make my national culture a basis for special treatment and preference when it comes to employment, etc.

3. Give me free college and business loans..Oh, while you’re at it, change your schools books to my language since my kid will have no interest in your language, either, and …

4. Give my kids a fairer chance of success than yours,

5. Subsidize my housing, food, bills, etc..

6. Respect my religion as being equal, if not superior, to yours – even if I believe in sacrificing poodles to Zorpan the Space God on the first Friday of the Lunar month.

7. Arrest those who disagree with me because they’re disrespecting my culture and that could be a hate crime.

What do you think your chances are of getting any (or all) of that off?

If you have traveled even a little, you know the answer is, “None!”

Why do we kowtow to every special interest and preference group that claims “foul”?

Rome tried to be all inclusive, too……does any one remember where that led?

We need to learn from, not constantly repeat history.

Emmett J. on November 22, 2006 at 9:31 PM

Hmmm … do ya think that maybe if the rest of the airlines could piss CAIR off too, we could do without all those insane security checks at the airports?

We may be on to to something here …

I’m just sayin’

LissaKay on November 22, 2006 at 9:42 PM

Total set up, like I said initially. They planned this the moment Pelosi said something about ’security checking muslims in airports or on airplanes should be illegal.’

That’s f—ing priceless!

Eddie Van Halen / Kurt Cobain

Joe Montana / Joe Theisman

Audie Murphy / John Kerry

Tom Selleck / Rodney Dangerfield

Mother Teresa / Modonna

Will Smith / Kevin Federline

see-dubya , I can’t tell if you’re serious, Pelooser did very much say that. She wants open airports and open borders.

The Rosa Parks comment was the stupid comment of the year. I can’t remember Rosa being involved with any TERRORIST organizations that had already attacked America using their religion/government as sole motivation.

Contessa Brewer (and/or whoever came up with this unmitigated shit) has a lot of nerve and NO class to suggest a comparison of the brave actions of Rosa Parks to the disrespectful, intentionally provocative behavior of these six play-actors. I wish someone with the authority or a court order would do a search of phone records between CAIR and these six. Unfortunately, as far as I know, they did nothing illegal (that day.)

MSNBC is “stupiding” itself into irrelevance–a tiny bright spot in this dark tunnel.

Was Rosa Parks ever politician? If not then why the [D] New York after her name?

Sammy316 on November 22, 2006 at 11:31 PM

I think there’s a world of difference between “civil disobedience” and “unabashed misbehavior”; especially (mis)behavior designed to play on the fears created by an act of war perpetrated on our nation.

I’ve a feeling that these “Imams” were testing the System. Seeing just how far they could go before passenger panic ensues.

If the “Imams” keep pushing and testing, while using Rosa Parks as an excuse, they could wind up beaten to death by passengers for their efforts.

That was a great comment Emmett. Last night I spoke with an acquaintance in Berlin. He told me that the Muslims in Germany not only don’t integrate but are now demanding or asking for “reverse integration”, in other words asking the Germans why they don’t adapt their lifestyles, traditions,…you watch, religion. He also said that not only do they separate into neighborhoods, but they run their own schools and that German children and youths pick up their languages before they pick up any German. Not much different in any other EU country.

Tony737, always love your comments. Congratulations and all the best to the entire family. Post the news on this thread and we’ll look for it.

————-

On to the subject at hand….

CAIR is a HAMAS FOUNDED FUNDRAISER/LOBBYIST organizaton. Never, EVER, forget that they have terrorist ties of origin.

One of their founders even said that he looked forward to America being an ISLAMIC Republic. Keep this in mind and ignore the rest of their bleating nonsense.

Here’s a clue that NOBODY has tumbled to, yet….

Every major airport has a NON-DENOMINATION CHAPEL INSIDE THE TERMINAL. If they want to pray — they can do it there! Nobody will stop them. Nobody will care or bother them. Such facilities are open to ALL!

Point 2: What these six men did was commit the crime of “disturbing the peace.”

From law.com:

disturbing the peace
n. upsetting the quiet and good order particularly through loud noise, by fighting or other unsocial behavior which frightens or upsets people. It is a misdemeanor, punishable by fine or brief term in jail.

These 6 men committed a crime by UPSETTING and FRIGHTENING people and should have been charged accordingly. They were given special treatment and I find THAT offensive!

The rank hypocrisy and outright lies of MSNBC comparing kicking these disturbers of the peace off an airplane to Rosa Parks needs to be confronted. They must stop defending a terrorist front and people who CHOOSE to disturb the peace by not availing them of a public facility set aside for their use and upsetting and frightening people.

The act of the Imans was a DELIBERATE attempt to intimidate people, and should be treated as such. It was not a simple act of “freedom of religion.”

georgej on November 23, 2006 at 4:23 AM

Great post georgej. I stand corrected.

What these six men did was commit the crime of “disturbing the peace.”

Absolutely. Now, if the Attorney General, District Attorney, (or whatever the equivalent in Minnesota,) would use his/her discretionary power to seek a court order for the purpose of including, or excluding, conspiracy charges, we might get to the bottom of this charade. Upon reflection, some federal avation-related laws may also have been broken, thus bringing more scrutiny.
However, I’m not going to get my hopes up for such an outcome. That would require someone, somewhere, growing a set, and putting away this “politically correct” mind-set.

“Thank YOU for sharing with us”

Wow, it takes class to say something like that. I take back all those mean things I said about hill billies! HA! Just kiddin’. I ain’t taking back ANYthing I said about Bill and Hilliary! Thanks Jim!

Oh, and just so this isn’t completely off topic …

Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat at the FRONT of a bus to a white malem her opposite. Did these imams get kicked out so that a priest and a rabbi could take their seats? Nah, didn’t think so. Don’t compare them to Rosa Parks, instead, compare them to (a potential) Richard Reid.

It is stunning that Brewer’s remarks are not a big story in the MSM (Then again, maybe not!). Brewer is basicially giving the line that terrorists would use to prevent our doing anything to protect ourselves against them. Even Hooper was not willing to go as far as she in her over-the-top assertions.

More and more, I believe we should prohibit immigration from predominantly Islamic countries unless the applicants can show they were persecuted for non-Islamic beliefs.

So, what actually happened? He says that the Imams deny everything: that they prayed on the plane, that they refused to leave the plane, that they were chanting “Allah”, and (potentially) that they were saying anti-American remarks.

Did they even pray exceedingly loud in the terminal? I’m confused. Is he a liar liar, with his pants on fire? I feel so uninformed by the news.
