[...] “One America” isn’t just the name of Edwards’s PAC, it’s the (unofficial) title of Obama’s famous speech to the Democratic convention two years ago. Maybe that dream ticket isn’t so unlikely after all. Young, good-looking, geographically diverse, racially diverse: if not for the fact that I can’t see Billary being outmaneuvered in the primaries, I’d be worried. [...]

Barack Obama is a muslim trojan horse, but no one will dare to bring it up for fear of being labeled racist or islamophobe.

We know nothing about his positions beyond kennedyesque platitudes. The press has already crowned him the savior of America. He's almost beyond criticism.

If he runs, he will be elected...

Edwards/Obama?

First wave of Cannon Fodder to fall to Arkancide.

Edwards would wind up under a bus after slipping on an icy pavement in New Jersey in the middle of July. While Obama would get out of politics altogether after witnessing it all.

Just a thought.

Emmett, I think about it all the time. We’ve become the land of the fake. However, if we don’t wake up soon from this bloated slumber, the second Rome will decline much faster…

You are sooooooooooooooooooo right!!!

I hope (I believe, like you) that we wake up, collectively.

We’re not serious if in these times we hand over the job of running the free world to two relatively good looking ‘teenagers’.

To be President of the U.S. is not a matter of marketing attributes, if we are a serious nation. That is a big “if”, however.

Entelechy on November 22, 2006 at 8:39 PM

Your point is right on the money!

IF

Think hard about this one - haven't many (to be fair, not all) people based their choice upon how the candidate is marketed rather than a fair, balanced picture of what the candidate's strengths and weaknesses are?

Haven't the American people succumbed to the glitz and glare of prepackaged candidates?

Haven't we, collectively, proven for the last several elections, that we can be bought with empty promises as well as with false hopes and dreams?

Bought with the proverbial bread and wine of Caeserian eletions.....

Haven't we, collectively, ceased to be serious?

Have we, collectively, settled for being content to be the politicians' punch line in the joke that they play upon we, the people, every two (or four) years?

Think about it.....

Edwards-Obama?

Great! I can't wait. We, of course, could counter with
somethink like Cheney - Steele. That particular match-up could lead to the following

1) memorable line from the Presidential debates:
"I refuse to exploit, for political purposes, the youth and inexperience of my opponent."

2) memorable line from the Vice-Presidential debates:
"I knew Martin Luther King Junior -- Martin Luther King Junior was a friend of mine. You, sir, are no Martin Luther King Junior"

Edwards-Obama would be confusing. One guy's famous for a speech about two Americas, the other for a speech about how we're actually only one America. They should settle that before they team up.

I’m afraid of this ticket, quite frankly.

AP, I think you had it right the first time:

The lamest ticket ever

Edwards is a complete and total nitwit. The Breck Girl is the perfect description. The ultimate empty suit.

Obama is a huge step up from Edwards, but zero experience, zero accomplishment, and already with the negatives. I am not afraid of these dips. Hillary is still the candidate to beat.

I don't care how many people claim they will never vote for her; people change their minds.

Hunter/Tancredo 08 sounds nice. No name recognition and they're both dark horses, but it could be fun.

The celebrity candidates - as if being president and vice president is all for show. If by chance this was ever a reality, who would be the real power behind the airheads?

Tony737 - I'm not entirely sure, because I only vaguely remember the story, but, I believe the police said that Gary Condit was cleared of any suspicion in the death of his intern Chandra Levy. He did benefit because 9/11 got rid of the news he was involved with an intern, but, I don't think he was a supect in her death.
