The ‘72 Dolphins will pop a few corks tonight. They’ll remain the NFL’s only undefeated team for at least one more year.
Dallas 21
Indy 14
And Dallas finally has a real QB.

I feel kind of dirty after rooting for the Cowboys. I need a shower before the Broncos play.
hulbstar on November 19, 2006 at 7:29 PM
FINALLY!! A quarterback that can do the job!
V5 on November 19, 2006 at 7:35 PM
Sad day. Go Colts!!!
tikvah on November 19, 2006 at 7:36 PM
You should. You really, really should.
JoeEgo on November 19, 2006 at 7:36 PM
Bill Parcels for DOD Secretary, can change quarterbacks and win. Bill doesn’t cut and run. He has a record to prove it.
StuLongIsland on November 19, 2006 at 7:38 PM
Are you a Cowboys fan Allah? Or just mentioning it because of the undefeated aspect? Romo does seem to have what it takes, but i feel bad for Bledsoe. He’s a good guy and a good QB, but he was very inconsistent and mistake prone.
Scot on November 19, 2006 at 7:47 PM
Second place feels that good?
JammieWearingFool on November 19, 2006 at 7:52 PM
Bryan wrote this, Scot.
Allahpundit on November 19, 2006 at 7:52 PM
I used to love the Cowboys; until they treated Tom Landry like dirt. Football just doesn’t thrill me anymore. I probably haven’t watched a complete game since Landry was dismissed.
DAT60A3 on November 19, 2006 at 7:55 PM
Yuck, Indy stole my team, but I’d rather root for them than the Cowboys.
You better take more than one shower.
Ian on November 19, 2006 at 7:59 PM
Oops, sorry Bryan.
Scot on November 19, 2006 at 8:07 PM
this win feels great. i don’t know what the rest of the season holds for my Cowboys but it’s great to have our QB situation fixed.
mfnorman on November 19, 2006 at 8:21 PM
How’d those Skins do, Ian?
Bryan on November 19, 2006 at 8:22 PM
SSHHHHH, Hold it down please.
THE Broncos are playing.
shooter on November 19, 2006 at 8:34 PM
Why am I an Eagles fan? Why do I put up with year after year of this junk? All we want is one championship! Enjoy the ride Cowboy fans…Christmas is coming.
danarchy on November 19, 2006 at 8:54 PM
The 72 Dolphins and Shula are breathin easier You Betcha! The Chicago Bears were threatening the ‘perfect season’ in the 80’s it took Marino and Co.to stop them. Ya now for the Charger/Bronco Game. Parcels is a good coach, but I still have a grudge against him for treating Phil Sims poorly after he sacrificed himself (Sims) to get to the superbowl. Now back to the game.
sonnyspats1 on November 19, 2006 at 8:55 PM
“Enjoy the ride Cowboy fans…Christmas is coming.”
yea, but your season will already be over by then
mfnorman on November 19, 2006 at 8:59 PM
Tony “the real deal” Romo…
Picked the Boys over the Colts in my football pool.
Opinionnation on November 19, 2006 at 8:59 PM
its all about the Chargers beating the Broncos tonight
Defector01 on November 19, 2006 at 9:01 PM
No. Playoff. Hopes. Period.
Ian on November 19, 2006 at 9:28 PM
As someone who lives in the Dallas area and has been a Cowboy fan since Landry, there is a question in my mind as to whether ROMO will be first string QB next year. Jerry Jones is unpredictable when it comes to QBs.
pocomoco on November 19, 2006 at 9:31 PM
Wow. I just read the weather forecast for Hell, and they are expecting blizzard conditions tonight.
No way I thought the Cowgirls/Dallas Inmates would win this.
SaidinUnleashed on November 19, 2006 at 9:43 PM
So that’s how the Skins did today?
Bryan on November 19, 2006 at 9:49 PM
The birds rip your heart out every time. There is always next year. And the year after that. And the one after that….

Two trips to the Meadowlands in 22 years. Two Trips to the Meadowlands in two weeks.
Any Jets fans out there? Giants fans? Anyone? AP? AP?!

The only reason the Cowgirls won was because of that bad review in the 4th. That cowboys receiver was not down by contact, and he did fumble the ball when he tossed it away – more proof that the NFL refs are biased.
Add a obviously late challenge at the end of the half by Parcells, and well…just more proof the NFL favors coaches from the New England area…
RightWired on November 19, 2006 at 11:03 PM
You’re blind, Rightwired, that Colt’s hand was on #80’s ass and he even gave it a good squeeze. It was grab-ass all the way; that’s why the review only took about 15 seconds
( Cowboys fan since 1978–don’t like it / them? Bite me…….
Janos Hunyadi on November 19, 2006 at 11:35 PM
Ouch! And yet we keep believing. They say insanity is when you keep doing the same thing over and over and keep expecting a different result.
danarchy on November 19, 2006 at 11:41 PM
Hey, anytime a young QB shows up showing real promise, anywhere, it’s good for the game. The salary caps worked in evening the field, as it were, but (not surprisingly) they also spawned a lot of mediocrity (remind you of anything?). Forget about backing individual teams, and take the excitement where you can find it.
Blacklake on November 19, 2006 at 11:57 PM
I just thought it was a pretty damn good game.
Also, I didn’t realize how freakishly tall Peyton Manning is.

I’m from the “Metroplex” and I didn’t see the game. I didn’t care about the game. I won’t care until Jerry no longer owns the team. As far as I’m concerned, he’s a putz.
urbancenturion on November 20, 2006 at 2:14 AM
Cowboys since ‘78 or so (I was 7) so go Romo! :)
I’m a big Peyton fan, but D needed this game badly (and a Jags win tonite would help too). With McNabb done for this year, Washington mailing it in and the Giants having defensive problems, Dallas has a great shot to run it thru to the playoffs now. 6 of next 8 at home too
LordNazh on November 20, 2006 at 6:24 AM
A good reason to root for Dallas is that the D.C area (that bastion of liberalism) hates them. Btw why did Joe Gibbs come out of retirement?
Hilts on November 20, 2006 at 8:49 AM
Romo is a great guy! After the game, he ran of the field with game ball which I think everyone assumed he wanted to keep for himself. Understandably. He just won his first start in Texas Stadium against the best regular season team in the NFL. But he gave the Game ball to Aaron Glenn. Not to himself. Not to Terry Glenn. Not to T.O. But Aaron Glenn who broke up the pass that Kevin Burnett ran in for a TD. Aaron Glenn is one of those unselfish players you have to have to go to the playoffs. He could start anywhere in the NFL but he is the third cornerback at Dallas who plays in the nickel because he is a team player and he is a Parcells player for life.
Drtuddle on November 20, 2006 at 10:52 AM
Former Falcons D-lineman Chuck Smith is on sports talk radio here in Atlanta. He’s pointed out a bunch of times that Bledsoe had a rep for being easy to rattle during a game and that he’s easy to sack.
Bledsoe put up some nice numbers in his career though.

Hey! I’m filing suit, I own the word “mojo”, pal.
That’s my story, anyway, and I’m stickin’ to it!
mojo on November 20, 2006 at 1:20 PM
I’m just catchting this post on Monday. Thanks for rubbing it in.
I’m in Indy, and a die-hard colts fan. I must say though, that I feel better about losing this game than I felt about beating Tennesee by 1 point. Dallas played well, and are a better team than their record indicates. I just wish they had reviewed the int that was run back for a touchdown. He was down and it may have saved us.
But maybe not. In case anyone wants to malign our defense, have you noticed that the losses we’ve suffered lately (not counting the end of the season last year when the starters were sat out) have come on days the defense played reasonable well, but the O forgot to show up?

Jerry is no doubt the most despised man in North Texas – such is this palpable hate that he couldn’t even show his face in public when Arlington was voting on the new stadium. (Ross Perot would probably be number one, but the press here is too scared to write about him. Mark Cuban is like one of those hamless crazy homeless guys screaming on the corner “Look at me! I invented an internet buzz word and hired Dennis Rodman! Look at me! I bought an airplane on eBay and worked at a Dairy Queen! Look at me!” – no hate, just mild amusement at the bored rich kid.)
I’m still a big Cowboys fan even with Jones – going to the games gives me a chance to boo him.
They showed up. Tried. Found wanting.
blogRot on November 20, 2006 at 3:20 PM
I agree, those poor Redskins and Eagles are done – put a fork in them.
HOW ‘BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!
