I only hope that “daddy” holds back the next few checks from his little princess, “Get a job,” and that she got a good spanking from mommy and daddy when she got home that night. She need to learn some discipline.

The reporter has the right to do his job, an assignment he received from his boss, without drunk and disorderly dolts popping their drunk skulls in his face while he is involved in a live broadcast.

Please allow me to offer another perspective. I am a former Ohio State student from the early 90’s. The state of Ohio lives and breathes football. This was one of the greatest victories in Ohio State history. Granted students get drunk and get out of control and I will not defend that. However, this reporter is standing right across the street from the stadium in the HEART of all the tailgate parties. If you don’t like drunk students then don’t broadcast from the heart of the party. If you’re that “fed up” then refuse the assignment. Or find another job. I thought the body check was hilarious and yes she did deserve it. But don’t complain about your job. No one is forcing you to do it.

Poor guy. I am sure he had more than enough crap from the college brats.
I live in Austin, TX and it almost impossible to go downtown after a UT win. The staggering, drunk, college kids are an embarrassment. Not to mention a hazard to navigation!

Nothing new for OSU. Steve was very fortunate that his “assailant” was ONLY a drunk, female college student — making it possible for him to continue that brief segment/report. Years ago, when I was enrolled at a Big 10 school, Woody Hayes would have tried to clothes-line him from the sideline. Any Clemson middle guard can tell you that it’s hard to “stay in game” when the OSU coach is taking his best shot at your Adam’s apple.

That’s a fact – you wouldn’t beleive how tired most of us in Central Ohio are of this sort of behavior, too.

I hope her parents got a chance to their daughter on TV. Would be a shame if they could not see how well their money is being spent.

Believe me – the parents are probably at the same low I. Q. level as their daughter (and are probably OSU grads, as well). The funny part is – they velieve that by spending a lot of money, they get a quality education.

Sadly not the case at OSU, where most classes are taught by Teaching Assistants instead of professors/teachers, and where the emphasis is on football – not learning. As seems to be the case most places.
