Vis Numar: Murtha has the votes for majority leader
posted at 8:02 pm on November 14, 2006 by Allahpundit
Did I say Vis Numar? I meant Jerome Armstrong. Pluto is in the third house at a near-exact with the Crab Nebula’s gonads, which means things look good for Cut and Run. Some Democratic constituents will be pleased, but most have no idea what they want and will therefore react with appropriate ambivalence.
Whom do we root for here? I guess it depends on how much damage we think Murtha could do. Two years of ethics scandals, Okinawa idiocy, and Haditha exploitation would do wonders for our chances of retaking the House, but at what price? And what if the old crank gains some influence over Iraq policy?
On the other hand, how much difference is there?
Hoyer, disturbed that the press seems to think there is daylight between him and Murtha on Iraq, said that “Any representation that Congressman Hoyer endorses a ‘stay-the-course’ strategy or advocates sending more troops to Iraq is wrong” and distributed joint letters to the president he and Pelosi, among others, signed.
Meanwhile, here’s Reid’s roster of incoming committee chairmen. Is that suspected leaker Jay “The Sieve” Rockefeller I see pencilled in for Intel? He and Harman would make quite the pair; a new Risen and Lichtblau bombshell every week, baby! The stock might even get back to $30.
Apropos of nothing except the fact that we’re speculating, how do you think Bush feels about this? It’s going to be awfully hard come amnesty time to claim fences don’t work if the Saudis think they work well enough to keep out terrorists.

I’m fine with Murtha. He’s pro-life, pro-gun and corrupt as hell, which makes him a lovely target to put at the head of this “reform” congress.

And like Steny Hoyer was really going to be fighting to win the war. Please.
see-dubya on November 14, 2006 at 8:09 PM
No, but he might not be in as much of a hurry to lose.

Is it just me, or does the red line in that picture you posted point toward Mecca?

Impeach. Impeach, impeach, impeach. Doesn’t matter if you have enough votes, call for impeachment on each and everyone of them.

…what? Kerry not chairman of the Veteran’s committee? How is that? He’s suuuuuuuuuch a “war hero”, after all….

I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t have a heart attack.

How about a sting operation and put him on trial for treason.
I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t have a heart attack.
Griz on November 14, 2006 at 8:42 PM
Could this all be a Rovian plot to get us all so POed that most everyone will be OK with the arrests for treason and the expulsion of Muslim fanatics in the coming years?

If San Fran didn’t already torpedo Harman for the slot.

Pull out schmull out. Bush ain’t gonna do it.
That is, unless the democrat congress pulls a … well a ‘democrat congress’ … and cuts off military funding.
Tony737 on November 14, 2006 at 9:11 PM
the democratic congress will not cut off military funding, unless they are hell-bent on cutting their throats at the same time. that’s political suicide and they know it. even the democrats aren’t that stupid…(or are they? hmmm.) And remember, Bush still holds the power of the veto. that being said, BRING ON MURTHA AND BRING ON 2008!
pullingmyhairout on November 14, 2006 at 9:15 PM
The Washington Post is even questioning him now.

…stupidity isn’t their achilles heel…there’s plenty of stupidity, cupidity and just plain “dumb-a$$” in DC….
…what they need to watch out of is *HUBRIS*. There, they are most vulnerable….

Actually, right now is the perfect time to let the Dems shoot themselves in the foot. Aside from the immigration stuff, I still generally trust Bush to do generally the right thing with regards to Iraq and the larger issues. Let’s get two solid years of nothing but endless investigations, deadlock, HillaryCare, and Pelosi-politics so that we have plenty ammo to stuff back in their faces in 2008. If the Administration plays it smart, it will start working the Blue Dogs against the Pelosi-crats in order to fracture their majority minimize their ability to get things done.
The best strategy to win in 2008 is to fracture the Democratic base and to field a relatively centrist candidate that can work well with the Blue Dogs.
The conservative base needs to realize that in 2008, it will be far more important to hold the White House and regain majority in the House than it will be to push a strongly conservative agenda. They can work on developing that agenda after the majority is reestablished and we have at least four more years in the White House.

Please, please, God in heaven, let the Demos choose John “I think we can do business” (with ) Abscam Murtha as their Majority Leader
Please, and I promise I won’t ask for any more favors…..

Wow. Pelosi stands by the guy who helped her with her quest for Speaker and honors her commitment.
Bitch.

…do you only mention the sins of politicians when it fits your boilerplate view of the world, Honey? Haven’t you read *ANY* of the other postings in this thread?
“Scooter” Libby “outed” a CIA “agent”. Rummy is a “war criminal”. I’ll bet that, back in the day, you wanted Trent Lott’s hide for his uncomfortable utterance. Then, Madame Speaker wants to elevate a *PROVEN* backhanding conspirator, you’re OK. What’s your take on Ol’ “Jeff” Jefferson from N’O'leans? Tens of thousands in his freezer, and he gets a pass?
Puritan1648 on November 15, 2006 at 1:01 PM
No. And some.
Seriously, what is it with you people? Are you completely incapable of looking at specifics? I guess I should be relieved you didn’t mention Teddy Kennedy. I picture you mind as spaghetti–a web of synapses that indiscriminately spark and link based on stimuli, irrespective of context.
Mention of Pelosi and or Murtha–start vomiting out the usual suspects: Rummy….Lott…Jefferson. Never, ever let go of an injustice, real or perceived. That way lies progress and enlightenment. What nonsense.
