Video: Aussie rape mufti misunderstood by entire planet

Australia’s version of “60 Minutes” profiled him recently after his Kinsleyan gaffe about rape went global. The clip’s online but I had a hell of a hard time getting it to load, so I clipped this tiny portion for ease of reference. Be advised that it doesn’t capture the full breadth of the interview, in which he says he condemns rape, hopes that Aussie soldiers come home safe, and gives the A-OK for women to break out the bikinis at the beach. For that you’ll have to watch the feature or read the transcript.
What it does capture is the peculiar frequency with which someone who claims to hold those beliefs should find himself “misunderstood.”

He’s the mufti of Australia (or, is it “a mufti *IN* Australia”?). If he’s his people’s voice in Australia, *SHOULDN’T* he be able to speak English? That way, people could understand that voice?
I doubt that his words were originally recorded in Arabic or whatever, and translated for the benefit of the rest of us…maybe he can blame all of the “out of context” “misunderstandings” on his translator…and have him beheaded….
He and his people don’t seem to be in any rush to assimilate, or even *TRY* to get along. As with, seemingly, most modern immigrants, it’s up to the majority culture — those who take you in, those whose society you milk for all that it’s worth — to adapt to *YOU*…and, if there’re any misunderstandings, it’s the fault of the listener and of that majority culture.
If any of us goes to Egypt or Saudi Arabia, especially, we’re supposed to adapt. That’s not only polite but it’s practical. The idiotic thing is that the same isn’t expected for them.
…in 1850’s America, prior to Dred Scott, a slave-holder who took his “property” to free states (e.g., from Mississippi to Iowa) found his “property” forfeit. Maybe this guy, going to a place where plural marriage is not only discouraged but proscribed by law, should lose some of *HIS* property: his “extra” wives!
This guy’s a cartoon villain.

Here is what is misunderstood about this Pig! He is not a human being, he is a wart on the human race. I really do not understand why the Aussies don’t take him by the scruff of the neck and deport him to any camel humping nation that would have him; and if nobody would have him, just make him vanish! What a classic example of taqqiya. The interview is almost a Saturday Night Live parody: “I was misquoted, badly misquoted, when I said I would cut off the head of every Aussie infidel and drink their blood. What I actually was saying was let’s all put another shrimp on the barbie, mate.”
