RNC Poll Results: Steele wins in a landslide

The results of yesterday’s poll speaks for itself:

About 93% of the vote went to Michael Steele.

When will the RNC try to keep it’s diminishing base instead of looking for new members?

This is one occasion the MSM could explore the Rove-ian conspiracy angle with at least *some* credibility. Instead, it’s proceeding with the “Republicans need Hispanic votes” angle.

They didn’t listen to us on immigration, what makes anyone think that they’ll listen to us on this?

This party is down the tubes. They must have some ulterior motive for destroying the party, I wonder what it is.

voiceofreason on November 14, 2006 at 4:06 PM

For some reason, when a bunch starts making big mistakes, they just continue doing it until someone with enough clout stands up and says “enough”. Bush being the lead Republican would have to stand up and speak this himself, instead of using the “trust the adviser” and “lead by committee” process that he normally uses.

So long as Conservative values win, I could care less about the fate of the Republican Party, but if the Republican Party wants to make headway they’ll have to stop making bone-headed decisions.

Let’s be honest, the Republican list of potential Presidential candidates outside of Duncan Hunter is lame at best and now their choice for party chairman is lame as well.

Their boat has sprung a leak and it’s like nobody sees the duct tape stirring them in the face.

…as flow the sands through the hourglass…so flow the chances of this misbegotten party to grasp at a clue.

Wow. Mel came in third, after “Other”.

I’ve never even heard of him. Is he bad, or just not as good as Steele and “Other”?

Esthier on November 14, 2006 at 4:13 PM

I don’t buy this poll for a second.

Republicans are racist. This defies that fact.

I blame Rove.

Hoodlumman on November 14, 2006 at 4:18 PM

I Blame Conye West!

Steele could have shown that “naturally conservative” black folks are the demographic worth winning. Fierce loyalty and reluctance to change could’ve meant black votes for decades.

Republicans have become wimps. They let the Demos beat up on the President, intimidated by the marches, and outrageous insults. Instead of waging war on the Democrats for their attacks, state by state, they let them take control with essentially “no name” democrats. It’s not like they pulled their “all stars” off the bench.

The least we could have done is get rid of Kennedy and Bird.

We wondered what the aftermath would be if the Democrats lost both Senate and House. Well we are now seeing the other side of the coin. Total disarray!

We are not going to regain our footing anytime soon.

I’d like the Republican Party to once again be the party of balls! That’s why we need Steele. That’s probably the very same reason why the Republicans in power won’t listen to us…just as they didn’t listen about immigration. Eunichs to the left of us! Eunichs to the right of us!

Joshua P. Allem on November 14, 2006 at 4:33 PM

Forgive my spelling errors: Eunuch.
I don’t type that word very often.

They never will.
The higher ups are busy trying to get the dems to like them, so the RNC will continue to screw things up as always.

I SAY WE START A NEW PARTY. CALL IT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY (NOBODY IS USING THAT NAME PROPERLY ANYWAY). IT WILL STAND FOR TRADITIONAL FAMILY VALUES,PERSERVING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE THAT ALL OUR FOUNDING DOCUMENTS WERE WRITTEN IN, OPEN TO ALL RELIGION JUST GIVING CHRITIANITY A LITTLE NOD FOR INSPIRING OUR GREAT COUNTRY,MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE WHO ILLEGALLY ENTER OUR COUNTRY GET SERVED THE FULL MEASURE OF OUR LAWS, AND WE WILL SERVE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE NOT THE POCKETS OF THE POLITICIAN

Drtuddle on November 14, 2006 at 4:39 PM

I don’t think Bush and Rove are going to get the message. They’ve got their script and they’re sticking to it.

Mark V. on November 14, 2006 at 4:42 PM

Who cares what the base thinks … f— them.

Sincerely,

George W. Bush
——————-
I second that!!

Sincerely,

Karl Rove

What is this “base?”

Sincerely,

Mel Martinez

Dear GOP,

You got slapped down last week. You come around looking for another. You really like it, don’t you?

dhimwit on November 14, 2006 at 5:27 PM

Dear GOP

Although I resigned from the GOP I still voted GOP but I’m here to tell you with Mel on top, Mr. Reagan (rest his soul) is spinning in his grave.

MikeG on November 14, 2006 at 6:45 PM

They’re trying to get the Spanish vote, but it won’t work. Millions of dem voters are crossing the border illegally. Get the black vote and we might have a chance.

Tony737 on November 14, 2006 at 7:40 PM

Drtuddle,

The Constitution Party fits that bill. Strict constructionists, hard core nationalists. If you find some of their positions hard to swallow, ask yourself if you’d rather vote for someone who stands to your right or your left.

I don’t agree with them 100% either, but I agree with them much more than I do with any current party, and their core principles are more than acceptable to me.

Freelancer on November 14, 2006 at 8:46 PM

I don’t think Bush considers this election a loss.

I think the survival of the Republican party is of no interest to him, and I don’t think he cares what the conservative base thinks.

Apparently his gift to posterity will be open borders, and now that those pesky elections are out of the way, he’s working on it, full steam ahead.

I have no reason to vote R in ‘08. If anyone starts collecting disenchanted conservatives for any particular third party, I’ll pay attention.

This is not the GOP or Republicans fault, this is GWB at it again just like when he nominated Harriet Meyers.

GWB is a left winged Liberal,a Rockefellar, One World Government, liberal just like his daddy.

How much more proof do you need?

The House Republicans DID listen to us on Immigration, and for their troubles they got the boot. Next year we will have the Congress that America voted for.

voiceofreason, what reason did the cut-and-run Republicans have for letting the House Republicans who blocked “Immigration Reform” be replaced? They sure didn’t side with Bush on the issue!

You are right just as long as you do not call for Impeachment.
