Opera and dogma are perfectly legitimate words and they are destroying my claim that nothing rhymes with Nicaragua.

Bah. Liquor agua, piragua, and Managua are all spanish words. They don’t count. It’s gotta be english words.

As for the last word you hinted at, are you talking about poo-poo caca? If so, I’ll admit you might be onto something.

Although lets face it. If you’re trying to do a “serious poem” and you’re reduced to using baby talk to make your rhyme scheme work, well, you lose credibility with the intelligensia.

Not that they have much credibility with me…

It was funny, goofy, and creative. In fact, it so inspired me that I decided to do something similar about the fact that Commie b*stard Daniel Ortega has just been elected President of Nicaragua. Alas, it is all for naught. I've just spent the last four hours working on my poetic opus, banging my head against my keyboard in frustration. Why? Because nothing rhymes with Nicaraugua. The closest I could get is "Avacado", and even that only works if you deliberately mispronounce it. Alas. English literature is the poorer for it. (Inspired by Berkeley Breathed and Sam Kinison)

I’m confused. Have the Dems been saying that the GOP is really a pro-pedophile or pro-gay organization, so you should vote Demo? Or are they saying that the GOP is pro-criminal? Or that the GOP is pro-lewdness?

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist (by the way, I’m a rocket scientist) to see that the Foley matter is a canard. Congress (and all positions of power) happens to attract a certain personality type — the power mad, the corrupt, the abusive. It’s up to the leadership to do the policing.

Having said that, which party seems to be in favor of this type of behavior? Let’s see, is there one particular party that has a convicted corrupt judge (Hastings)? Or a gay pimp (Franks)? Or a pederast (Studds)? Or leaving a mistress to drown (Kennedy)? Or a soviet colluder (Kennedy)? Or a draft dodger (W. Clinton)? Or a convicted purjorer (W. Clinton)? Or a disbarred attorney (W. Clinton)? Or a serial rapist (W. Clinton)? Or a Klansman (Byrd)? Need I go on?
