Can Henry Waxman subpoena the country into national reconciliation?

Perhaps, my friends. Perhaps.

Personally I hope the democrats do as Waxman threatens. Spend all their time investigating the GOP and Bush. Their victories this week will be short lived.

Labamigo on November 10, 2006 at 10:21 PM

Michelle,
How did you not toss your lunch listening to Stevie McMahon blab on and on ?
Colmes and Stevie both could a use a dose of manners and a hearing aid.

You were GREAT ! ! again

Texyank on November 10, 2006 at 10:24 PM

Michelle: SPOT ON! The Dems will ABSOLUTELY show their true colors and I, for one, can’t wait. Their marginal wins over the last election are not reason for celebration, and if the Republicans won by such low margins, they would be the first to point it out. Their extremist, nutty, offspring are going to start making demands the Dems will be very afraid of conceding to and it will be on display for the entire country to see. Personally, I think the next couple of years are going to be very entertaining.

thedecider on November 10, 2006 at 10:28 PM

Michelle is getting really good at live debate, and Alan is approaching the point of simply being overmatched. Gotta admit: as much as I dislike Hannity on the radio, he’s very effective live, and much more believeable.

Jaibones on November 10, 2006 at 10:33 PM

Michelle is more gracious than I am. I hate the left. :-)

SouthernGent on November 10, 2006 at 10:36 PM

Michelle you were great. Thought you were going to pull out the mace on Colmes.

Colmes is to KOS/MSM that Tom Hagen was to Don Corleoni. Spin master! He ought to get Deans job. What a jerk.

Keep on punching MM!

Limerick on November 10, 2006 at 10:37 PM

Michelle is getting really good at live debate, and Alan is approaching the point of simply being overmatched.

Maybe that’s because Colmes isn’t really a liberal and is just a Fox News prop because the gutless weasels at Fox were afraid to actually bring on a real one.

Grebrook on November 10, 2006 at 10:38 PM

Maybe that’s because Colmes isn’t really a liberal and is just a Fox News prop because the gutless weasels at Fox were afraid to actually bring on a real one.

The same way, I suppose, that the MSM is too weasely to bring a real conservative on?

DannoyJyd showing up to call for Bush’s impeachment in 3….. 2…..

RightWinged on November 10, 2006 at 10:46 PM

The same way, I suppose, that the MSM is too weasely to bring a real conservative on?

I’m curious as to what exactly is the “MSM”. CNN and MSNBC? Because they not only bring on conservatives, conservatives have their own shows on those networks.

I love that train of argument, though. Essentially it goes like this: “Fox News is OUR propaganda outlet and you can’t complain because the rest of the media is a little less biased then Fox is and we are in no way hypocritical for praising Fox while simultaneously denouncing the MSM you slimy liberals!!!”.

Grebrook on November 10, 2006 at 10:46 PM

We, the gas filled citizens of the left, who are really the right, do here by call for the impeachment of the Bush for crimes against the left and the right because after all we are the middle and therefore are both the left and the right and the right thing to do is to swing with the left and impeach the Bush because our mommys didn’t buy us enough candy……

Sincerely, Grebrook, DannyJo, and all the other trolls.

Limerick on November 10, 2006 at 10:49 PM

RightWinged, thanks for the laugh. I needed that after last Tuessday. Please forgive me for not making your prediction come true right away.

I totally agree with Michelle [I think that Rush said it first], and shall continue to push that message in the hopes that the White House learn the truth of her words before it is too late. :o)

DannoJyd on November 10, 2006 at 10:51 PM

Grebrook on November 10, 2006 at 10:46 PM

Take a deep breath, Grebrook. You’re hyperventilating. First, I would never say the MSM is “a little less biased” than Fox. Everyone knows the MSM is very biased – just not in a conservative way or in any way that would bring forth a conservative point of view. Second, I wouldn’t call Fox “balanced”, just “balancing”.

thedecider on November 10, 2006 at 10:52 PM

I have to say I’m a conservative, but I do not have permanent political parties I have permanent political interests.

Will the senior leadership go nuts? Probably. But the big question is how long can they keep it together. The potential rift between the freshman and senior leadership is huge. Check out Heath Schuler, for all intents and purposes he is a conservative. The constituency of these freshman democrats was frustrated with the republican party that is why they won. The country has not turned left y’all. I like Heath Schuler I probably would have voted for him. What we need to do is strategize in the lost congressional seats and play the Pelosi card. We will either get conservative Democrats or the houses back in ‘08 with a responsive body of Republicans that are not eager to make the same mistakes.

Just a question how many people would like to see the Libertarian party put up a worhty alternative?

Theworldisnotenough on November 10, 2006 at 10:56 PM

Theworldisnotenough…….simply……no

Do not be so quick to dis me by trying to making me out to be a liberal, and it is easy to see that I am not a troll as I have my lil internet site linked to my name.

I cannot see one of their candidates having much appeal to a true conservative. Please understand that is my opinion formed from what I’ve seen, and is not stated, or offered as fact.

DannoJyd on November 10, 2006 at 11:06 PM

Until there are three more major networks, a secondary federally funded PBS station, a C-SPAN3 & C-SPAN4, and two more cable news channels, ALL presenting the news with an 85% CONSERVATIVE slant, trolls should stop whining about the number of liberals, type of liberals, or puppets pretending to be liberals appearing on ONE lonely channel over at Fox News.

Until that scenario takes place, please STFU about fair and balanced programming, OK?

fogw on November 10, 2006 at 11:06 PM

I’m 45, and except for 2 primaries I’ve never missed a vote.

DannoJyd on November 10, 2006 at 11:07 PM

I saw it, I was pretty disappointed that twice the democrat talking head made reference to Bush saying that “a democrat win would be a victory for the terrorists”, as if that was some TERRIBLE lie or something. And NO ONE came back with the two quotes from Iran and Al Qaida this week SAYING EXACTLY THAT.

I am SCREAMING at my TV, that the terrorists have said EXACTLY THAT this week already!

NRA4Freedom on November 10, 2006 at 11:12 PM

Nixon…..

DannoJyd…..it is the call for impeachment that puts you on the wrong side of the arugment with me. I don’t care if you were the guy next to me in the foxhole, calling for the impeachment of the President, just to make POLITICAL NOISE so you can purify your side of the Republican party will get no where with me.

To your type of Republican I am the dreaded RINO. Why? Because I am willing to compromise on taxes and immigration.
I am not willing to compromise on abortion or WAR.

Your call for impeachment shows you to be no better then the liberal party hacks that want political bonus points and could care less about the damage impeachment would cause.

Grow up.

Limerick on November 10, 2006 at 11:12 PM

Wow, Michelle blew that one. Here’s what she should have said:

Alan: “Just last week Bush was saying that if the Democrat’s succeed, then our enemies would win…”

Michelle (interupting): “Alan, just today we are hearing al-Qaeda and Iran seperately claiming that the Dem victory was a victory for them, so what’s your point?”

DaveS on November 10, 2006 at 11:18 PM

Oh, NRA already said something similar. :-)

DaveS on November 10, 2006 at 11:19 PM

Limerick, you are free to compromise. I am too, and thus have decided to compromise on the issue of Impeachment.

Everyone be happy! A compromise has been reached! LMRIAO!!!

Bipartisanship is for feel good morons because the fact is that the left never compromises.

DannoJyd on November 10, 2006 at 11:21 PM

Impeach the president during a time of war? The dirty liberals will not be able to resist.

I’m all too afraid thaqt he WILL be able to work with them all too well.

To the detriment of all of us ‘average’ citizens.

Hope I’m wrong, but his glee in being able to pass his amnesty bill now and summary firing of Rumsfeld really make me fear for the future. I hope it is just strategery;

But just like Han Solo: I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

LegendHasIt on November 10, 2006 at 11:24 PM

Remember the word DannoJyd….RINO…..RINO….it’s the RINOS you fear. We are the mutts. Not the pure breds. No papers. RINOS. Common sense RINOS, not slavering pure bred Rs willing to damage the country just because taxes aren’t low enough. Keep pushing for impeachment DannoJyd. It exposes you for the fool you are.

Limerick on November 10, 2006 at 11:27 PM

Savage, don’t make me spank. haha…

LegendHasIt, unfortunately, sans your hope, you do have a fine grasp on what we will be seeing in the future. The question is, what can we do to change that?

DannoJyd on November 10, 2006 at 11:27 PM

Limerick, it is due to the actions of RINO’s last Tuesday that the imminent impeachment of Bush now approaches.

Embrace the horror that the RHINO’s have allowed! I have. :oP

“Hard-wired BDS”

Excellent phrase! Neither Colmes nor McMahon could refute that one, even with maximum sputterage.

Alan, go home and go to bed, you’re sick and you’re making a lot less sense than usual.

infidel4life on November 10, 2006 at 11:34 PM

Kid, I will bet that Bipartisanship In Our Time never gets there except on the Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill.

Bush will cave to the demands of the left, but the Republicans will never get a chance to ‘compromise’. LOL!

DannoJyd on November 10, 2006 at 11:35 PM

Grebrook, take a pill or something dude, you’re gonna have a stroke.

On second thought…..nevermind.

infidel4life on November 10, 2006 at 11:38 PM

The question is, what can we do to change that?

Not a dang thing.

Nothing I want more at this moment than to head for my cave in the wilderness.

Look, I’m not going to be an ally on your impeachment thing, although unlike some others, I CAN grasp your reasoning on it. I can even share some of the emotion of it.

But:

I still WANT to have faith in the President. I think impeachment would be detrimental to the nation as a whole, even if President Bush is as bad for America as everyone on the Left and many on the Right are thinking now.

But to look at ALL his decisions from Nov. 8th onwards with a ‘jaundiced eye’ is IMHO a wise idea.

LegendHasIt on November 10, 2006 at 11:40 PM

Ah yes, amnesty. I’m sure our fearless leaders will fond broad consensus on this pressing matter. Good move, Dubya. Seriously. Good thing I’m fluent in Spanish. I’ll be able to watch El Presidente’s capitulation speech live on Univision.

Kid from Brooklyn on November 10, 2006 at 11:43 PM

The end was the best part. Colms wasn’t listening when MM admitted there were problems with the policy in Iraq.

Let’s get used to the Dems not listening.

I don’t want to see them get an inch, and maybe they won’t get it. Just as there are RINOs, there are also DINOs. They only have slight control of both houses, and I bet President Bush found his veto pen on Tuesday. The downside: Our government isn’t going to work for at least two years. The upside: Our government isn’t going to work for at least two years.

Savage on November 11, 2006 at 12:24 AM

I am totally unable to listen to more than a few seconds of the Democrats lying sniveling scheming hatred and schemes to destroy the USA. Our enemies take the democrats words and they are all over Al Jazeera the the deomcrats revel in the same filt as the terrorist thow up. One good thing is as the dems work on their maste rplans, the country will see their evilness and wake-up from the horrible mistakes they made. If the Democrats win 2008, we are all as good as dead.

retired on November 11, 2006 at 12:33 AM

I saw it. The liberal guest said that everything the Democrats said in the leadup to the election was the truth.

Kind of wish you would have challenged him to offer one shread of proof of any of the democrat’s allegations (but then you know what your doing more than I do – so I’m blowing smoke here…. :)

That Bush lied in the lead up to the war in Iraq (Kennedy).
That the marines murdered civilians in ‘cold blood’ in Haditha (Murtha).
That GITMO is the equivalent of a Gulag.

I don’t think the Democrats will change – they have debts to pay to their wacko-left supporters. I do think that the MSM will attempt to provide them all the cover they need. The’ve covered up (knowingly IMHO) for terrorists and traitors – covering up for the Democrats should be a walk in the park. And yes I mean CNN and MSNBC (and the others – sometimes even FOX).

Kid from Brooklyn on November 11, 2006 at 1:17 AM

Amnesty for the illegals just so he can have so much fun watching the Republicans squirm? Did anybody else catch that? It is not that the US is not supposed to be the only “superpower”, but that this country is to have no “power” at all.

The terrorists did win, didn’t they?

TwinkietheKid on November 11, 2006 at 1:24 AM

I loved the look on Michelle’s face in the first part. I couldn’t help but crack up laughing. I know that I have a hard not laughing when stupid things come of my leftist friends mouths. I say keep this video on file somewhere because Shawn’s and Michelle’s predictions will come true. Anyone remember the talk of bipartisanship back in 2000? Bush was nice and they screwed him and he is doing it again.

zerodamage on November 11, 2006 at 1:33 AM

Let me see if I understand this. The Democrats win the Congress and now show signs that they’ll investigate anything that moves in the White House, endlessly and fully. Yet it was these SAME Democrats that faulted the GOP for “DISTRACTING” Clinton from combating terrorism because the GOP kept the White House busy with investigation after investigation during the 90s. Now they propose to do the same. In a time of WAR, can our Commander-in-Chief afford to be “distracted” with petty investigations? Or are the Dems just willfully harming our national security and our war effort to further thier political gain?

noble_eagle on November 11, 2006 at 1:37 AM

What about the middle eastern flight jacket found on the Mexican border that had patches of martyrdom on them? It’s not just “MexiCans” crossing the border illegally.

What about Hugo’s Iranian-trained Venezuelans and Venezuelan trained middle easterners that are trying to learn to look, talk, and act like Mexicans to cross the border?

If there were to be a devastating terror attack in LA that could be traced back to a terrorist that crossed the Mexican border, would the immigration crisis and the war still be considered two separate issues?

To me, the war and the sovereignity of our nation are one and the same. If we lose our borders, our country ceases to exist. I can understand Danno’s point of view, although I would never call for the impeachment of the POTUS during a time of war.

If however, the next act of war in our country comes from the lack of border security, my opinion might change.

NTWR on November 11, 2006 at 2:07 AM

Michelle: That was the best appearance on these shows I have yet to see. Thank you for raising the important point about lefty war denial and their inability to see past their hatred.

EFG on November 11, 2006 at 2:25 AM

Hannity and Michelle are exactly right.

BDS (and the desire to elect a Democrat President) will drive the left (especially Waxman and Conyers) into a 2 year long orgy of subpoenas and “show trials” before the leftist media.

georgej on November 11, 2006 at 3:24 AM

Did anyone notice…

McMahon didn’t actually deny anything that Hannity and Malkin said about the Democrats?

McMahon tried to turn the debate back around to be against Republicans (this is just more creative mud-slinging).

Point is, McMahon and Colmes didn’t even attempting to denying anything that Hannity and Malkin claimed about Democrat shenanigans.

How smug and stick-it-in-your-face is that, from these two Liberal pundits?

Democrats are already gambling away their win through their subtle gloating.

Lawrence on November 11, 2006 at 10:49 AM

So Steve McMahon is back. Where’s he been the last 12 years? I remember he was all over news television in the ’80s and early 90’s smearing Republcians every time a camera was turned his way. That, of course, was the era of Democrat domination. Then after the GOP takeover in ‘94 and consecutive Bush victories, McMahon was rarely to be seen anywhere for commentary. Now Democrats are back in power and ‘ol Steve has suddenly crawled out of his hiding place, is all puffed up and spouting off again. I guess Steve only has the motivation to defend his beloved party when they’re in power. When not in power, he is like a frightened eunuch.

Bi-partisan like the education bill with Teddy Kennedy (Mary Jo Kopechne was unavailable for comment). Look at what happened with that bi-partisan try. You can not work with the democrats, they view that as a weakness and so do I.

Wade on November 11, 2006 at 11:46 AM

DaveS, it was a glaring mistake to both of us then! Because Lord knows, the rest of the MSM probably isn’t going to step up to the plate and report it to the American people.

I think another think that has happened in this democrat win is that the MSM is feeling their oats too, giddy to the idea that they HAVE the power to misreport and under report and sensationalize the news in such a way as to make the American public think a certain way. They are as much seditious traitors as most of the democrats that won are, the GOP is just too scared to call them what they truly are.

Limerick, you can run but you cannot hide. Like it or not, America voted for the party that promised to impeach, cut-and-run, and Bush wants us to compromise. You can cut it any way that you like, but impeachment will happen while the terrorist threat inside of America is ignored.

LegendHasIt, I need no more supporters as a majority of American voters voted for this. I personally will do all that I can to make certain their decision is right in their faces for the next 2 years.

AZ_Redneck, America just voted in the BDS liberals. We are stuck with that for at least 2 more years. How secure do you feel today? Do you feel more secure than you did before last Tuesday? You will soon be hearing how Hitlary has improved her chance at the White House due to the last election. Some of us seem to have forgotten what’s happened since 2000. It’s been 6 years of “take that, bitch” from the Republican majority.

“Liberal big government minimum wage hike” Michelle? I guess working people living above the poverty line is a liberal value. I don’t know why anybody let that one slip by without comment.

Personally I hope the democrats do as Waxman threatens. Spend all their time investigating the GOP and Bush. Their victories this week will be short lived. — Labamigo

…true.

Let the Democrats *BE* Democrats, and pretty soon they’ll have poisoned the well sufficiently that they’ll soon be back in “disloyal opposition”.

The Democratic Party is the party of arrogance, disloyalty, national suicide, moral relativism and treason. It’s hard to say this in time of war, but we here tippity-tapping out here in the blogosphere can thwart them only so much…we’re most useful latching onto their open arrogance and reminding people of it. We should catalogue every mistake, misstep, seditious utterance and tendency to treason…and broadcast it from the mountaintops (virtually).

It’s hard in time of war to give the soft or hard traitors “enough rope”, but it’s necessary, I feel.

Let Democrats be Democrats…it’s like letting lemmings be lemmings…it’s costly, but it’s ultimately good sport.

THeDRiFTeR on November 11, 2006 at 2:15 PM

The Democratic Party is the party of arrogance, disloyalty, national suicide, moral relativism and treason.

Republicans: the party of irony. Accusing Democratic lawmakers of arrogance while locking them out of their own committee meetings; of disloyalty and treason while violating the law and shredding the constitution; of national suicide while pursuing a policy that empties government coffers and incites more terrorism; of decrying the killing of innocents while effecting the very same through their support of an immoral war in Iraq. Oh, and discussing giving the Democrats “enough rope” when the Republicans have not only shot themselves in the foot, they’ve then fallen into a trough of tar and rolled into a pile of feathers.

I’m sure you’ll be clapping your hands with glee if the Democrats fail in their ambitions to clean up government and put us on a positive path. I just wish I had no reason to be disgusted with this President and this Congress; I wish all their wrong-minded schemes had worked out, even by accident.

A frequent commentor on my blog noticed the same thing when he said:

Did you hear Colmes laugh when Michelle said that the terrorist surveilance program was dealing with a war that was denied for so long by Democrat administrations who wouldn’t deal with reality? Those people still don’t take the war against terrorism seriously! Just because we haven’t been attacked since 911, we should all just sit back and laugh at all those crazy people out there who still think we’re in danger!

Ummm, who is Constantine, and how did he get in? Think I’m a going to start a posting here again. It was so lonely before.

He got in the same way everyone gets in: he created an account when registration was open and he hasn’t violated our terms of use. Why are you here, though? What happened to your melodramatic “I shan’t comment again” promise in that old Cindy Sheehan thread?

I fear your stay with us shall be short.

I’ve risen above my disgust and gotten over it? Gonna cut me out?

THeDRiFTeR on November 11, 2006 at 2:47 PM

I’ve risen above my disgust and gotten over it?

Mm, but I don’t think I’ve risen above mine.

Allahpundit on November 11, 2006 at 2:48 PM

Some of us seem to have forgotten what’s happened since 2000. It’s been 6 years of “take that, bitch” from the Republican majority.

“Liberal big government minimum wage hike” Michelle? I guess working people living above the poverty line is a liberal value. I don’t know why anybody let that one slip by without comment.

I love the Republicans continuing the attempt to innoculate their leaders from investigation by preemptively complaining about it.

Or maybe we dont think we should force Pizza Hut to let someone have a “Living wage” off of a job designed for extra money.

How much is that job truely worth? Not enough for a mortgage, a car, and 2 kids. And all it does is screw consumers, and in the long run, the economy with an inflated minimum wage. It’s not my fault these high schoolers can’t keep their legs crossed and have kids too early, I’ll be DAMNED if I pay for it.

Republicans: the party of irony. — Constantine

…ah, Connie…still stridently maladjusted and self-righteous, I see…you hold onto that…that’s why I *LOVE* you so….

Allahpundit on November 11, 2006 at 2:48 PM

And I thought we could just move along. Well, yours are the levers of power, for what that’s worth. Be a shame if you cut me out though. I was just beginning to think we could have a good time together.

THeDRiFTeR on November 11, 2006 at 2:57 PM

I’m sure you’ll be clapping your hands with glee if the Democrats fail in their ambitions to clean up government and put us on a positive path.

…again…*(clapping hands with glee)*…nice to see you today. “Clean up government and put us on a positive path”…very good. Very good.

OH…serves to remind me that I haven’t posted my new catch-phrase today:

No bipartisanship with treason!

…there…now you can say that you’ve been useful, Connie…now…head back up the cat-flap…there’s a good boy….

Puritan1648 on November 11, 2006 at 2:59 PM

I was just beginning to think we could have a good time together.

I would say call me, but I’d be accused of making a racist campaign video.

Ringmaster on November 11, 2006 at 2:59 PM

Well, here’s a start. Coincidental, don’t you think, that the Republicans unveiled their version of the same kind of plan just this week? Come now, Danno, surely you know how to use Google!

I’ve not found anything on what’s up with Reid and Jefferson lately. I expect if either has been found to have violated the law (Jefferson: probably) they will step down and be prosecuted.

No one casres about kick backs, screw Reid. Jeffersons guilty as sin and re-ran. He won’t step down in the orange jumpsuit, he’ll be removed.

At least when foley got caught being a perv (No laws broken, just sicko) he quit.

Even child molesters have more class ten democrats… how sad.

incites more terrorism; of decrying the killing of innocents while effecting the very same through their support of an immoral war in Iraq.

It would be so much more moral to allow a dictator to invade countries (Kuwait/ Iran) kill hundreds of thousands of his OWN COUNTRY-MEN, and millions of other people ??? How far would he have gone? Look at Hitler. Both were inches away from atomic weapons, what do you think they would have done then?
US Incite terror? You , ma’am, are the inciter of ill will. But you may get your wish to abandon the war on terror, then the terrorists might be on your doorstep. Please come back then and tell us who you will call for help?

Stunning. I’m sure minimum wage earners have the same warm feelings for you that you have for them.

In the real world the economy runs primarily on average people buying things they need, not simply on capital investment as the Republicans’ corporate masters would have you believe.

Just a guess. Someone here is Turkish and Mexican mix, on welfare with 4 to 5 kids all under 11 years old. Subsidized housing, food stamps, cable TV, internet and pregnant, again.

Happy Veterans Day, many have died for your freedoms & entitlements. Good day.

Oh please, let me pay out of pocket on lost profits because you can’t get a trade.

There are no requirement civil service jobs out there worth 30,000 a year. Open. Go get one.

Live where you work, or work where you live.

Stereotypemania!

Constantine on November 11, 2006 at 3:50 PM

Even if my comment was a sterotype, which it isn’t let me submit to you an example.

When theres a pot on the stove, and the flame is lit, do you debate whether or not to get an oven mitt, because you might imply the pot is hot and you might offend it by having one, so you grab it and… imagine that… it’s hot and you get burned….

… or do you get the damn mitt just to be safe and cover your 6?

Awwww… what am I doing Self-Responsability and Rationality talking to liberals… I might as well be talking to a wall. At least when Im drunk the wall talks back…

Constantine, resident of the moonbat alternate reality posted:

“Republicans: the party of irony. Oh, and discussing giving the Democrats “enough rope” when the Republicans have not only shot themselves in the foot, they’ve then fallen into a trough of tar and rolled into a pile of feathers.”

Moonbats just love to create their own history, don’t they?

Of course, not a word of the above paragraph written by moonbat Constantine is true, but HE believes it. And that is what makes him a moonbat resident of that alternate reality.

Did you notice how Constantine, like all moonbat idiots likes to use “run on” accusations against Bush and the Republicans as if the longer the list of imaginary facts he can quote changes his lies into truth?

It part of their pattern of delusion. Dr. Pat Santy explains why they do this in one of her blog entries:

The number of things that Bush has been blamed for in this world since 9/11 (even acts of God like Tsunamis, hurricanes and other natural disasters) is the stuff of major comedy. You name the horrible event, and he is identified as the etiologic agent.

He is blamed when he does something (anything) and he is blamed when he does nothing. He is blamed for things that ocurred even before he was President, as well as everything that has happened since. He is blamed for things he says; and for things he doesn’t say.

What makes Bush Hatred completely insane however, is the almost delusional degree of unremitting certitude of Bush’s evil; while simultaneously believing that the TRUE perpetrators of evil in the world are somehow good and decent human beings with the world’s intersts at heart.

This psychological defense mechanism is referred to as “displacement”.

One way you can usually tell that an individual is using displacement is that the emotion being displaced (e.g., anger) is all out of proportion to the reality of the situation. The purpose of displacement is to avoid having to cope with the actual reality. Instead, by using displacement, an individual is able to still experience his or her anger, but it is directed at a less threatening target than the real cause. In this way, the individual does not have to be responsible for the consequences of his/her anger and feels more safe–even thought that is not the case.

Dr. Pat Santy, MD.

In other words, The longer the list of idiot lies he can tell, the more self righteous he feels.

So, the question comes down to one of these choices:

Does Constantine really believe this nonsense?

Or is Constantine simply trolling us as our own personal Dr. Joseph Gobbels.

I believe the latter.
