I haven't checked the site in the last couple of days, but when I did the Navy was in the lead. "GO NAVY". Donated $50 myself. I'm stationed out here in San Diego and Balboa Navy Hospital gets it's fair share of our wounded Marines and Sailors from the war. This is one of the best things to donate some money to.
I wonder just how many Democrats are donating to this, or any other fundraiser to help our troops? Would be kinda interesting to know.

Kudos Drtuddle.

Honest to God, you inspired me to put money into the cause.

It kinda made me ashamed that it took your post to trigger that, when I should have done that as soon as this post was published.

Thanks again for helping me to do the right thing.

Another organization that I like is Operation Paperback. Many of the troops are serving in out of the way places with no libraries, bookstores, etc. and they are starved for good reading material.

Here is their webpage:
http://www.operationpaperback.org/

This was one grassroots group that met with President Bush at the White House on October 20. As a reward for their great work supporting the military serving abroad, the President met with several groups that support the military and veterans on Oct. 20. It got no coverage by the MSM.

Here is a summary of that meeting. These groups are really worth supporting. The girl in the picture with President Bush, for example, organized a group sending care packages to the troops.

Thank you for the reminder, Bryan. I have a Valour-IT post at the top of my site that will stay there through midnight tomorrow night but I don't get 1% of your traffic.

Have a good Veterans Day. Thank you for your service, young man.

Bryan, that link you posted to the Gulf War Chronicles doesn't seem to go to a bidding site.

When I went there, it just took me to an Amazon site where I could buy a book, as opposed to bid on it.

The second link, Marines in the Garden of Eden did go to a bidding site.
