We can not be seen like Pelosi, who promised the moon in the first 100 hours but now looks like that won’t be happening: Despite House Minority Leader Pelosi’s pledge this week that Democrats will implement the 9/11 Commission’s recommendations within the first 100 hours of taking control of the House in January, Democratic lawmakers and aides say they are not sure how they will do it. How they plan to overcome anticipated committee turf battles that have bedeviled some Republican efforts to streamline oversight of homeland security programs also remains unclear. “We didn’t have all this up on the screen ready to hit to send,” an aide to Pelosi acknowledged after Tuesday’s elections. Another aide added, “We don’t know what exactly will be brought to the floor.” Privately, aides acknowledged that most of the recommendations by the commission that investigated the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, have been addressed in some way by the Bush administration or Republican-controlled Congress. But they said those recommendations have not been fully implemented, or have been done in name only, creating a need for new legislation to fix the shortfalls. [...]

Pelousy, and her fellow democrats never cared about making America safe. They mearly offered up soundbites that they decided would sound good, and fool dummy Americans into believing that a liberal win would be good for the USA.

Democrats have their plans, they will carry those out quickly, and the MSM will cheer their efforts.

They have no defense for failing to fulfil their promises. They wanted power to implement their plans, so they said. Really, they just wanted power.

The next terrorist attack after Jan 2007 BELONGS TO PELOSI AND REID. They own them all. And you can bet the farm that the terrorists will strike again.

Just sayin’ what I thought those who voted Dem might have been thinking when they pulled the “D” lever, cause Lord knows precious few of their candidates actually had a platform except for “we’re not the GOP.”
Sad state of affairs and we Repubs sure have work to do so we don’t get in this mess again…oh, yeah, and there’s a war to fight and win also, it seems.

I’ve got the exact same sentiment, Jen. In fact, that quote was just as much for myself. I’ve been just as frustrated with the Repubs, too. That’s why I voted straight Republican Tuesday with my middle finger firmly extended. They’re still our best hope, as bleak as it may be.

Hack, thanks. I’ve been thinking pretty much the same thing, actually. Rummy and his wisdom and the Rummyisms will be with us always!

And the decider, indeed. Americans have increasingly joined the ranks of Jacksonian Democrats since 9/11, whether they be on the right or left sides of the traditional aisle.
I’m convinced that many people mistakenly voted for Dems because they wanted us to fight the war harder and to do more about immigration and border control, not the opposite! Many of the Dim candidates, like Webb in VA, for instance, led them to believe that was what they stood for, too.
(And bless their hearts, they knew they weren’t getting this from the Republican Congress…*sigh*)
Maybe it is. I hope for the best! :-)
As loyal a Conservative Republican as I am, I can’t say I’ve been totally happy with what my own guys have been doing.
I hope and pray that maybe through their confusion and blundering, the Dem House and Senate might actually stumble into doing the things that need to be done and funnily enough, it will be worlds easier for them to do it and not us, with them snapping at our heels at every step as they’ve been doing the last 5 years. As I said, I live in hope…

So it’s discovered the Dem’s don’t really have a strategy or a plan. I wonder why we didn’t know this before the election ? Folks, the whole country is about to see the full monty of the Democratic party. They have a mere two years to pull their nutty selves together and, I, for one, don’t believe they can pull it off. Their core is going to reveal it’s ugly self and the country is going to sweep them right back out in the next mid-term election cycle. Our populace is NOT in a liberal mood. The Dem’s did NOT win a mandate from the American people – as noted by their marginal wins. As discouraged as the Republican base may now be, pull your heads out of your shoulders! Look up! See the bright ray of hope on the horizon! The Dem’s CANNOT control their nutty offspring in the wings. The crazies that cling to the Democratic party will be their undoing.

Not to get too technical or picky, but does the first 100 hours mean 4 days and 2 hours, or is it working days: 12 1/2 days, which would equal 2 1/2 working weeks? Or if she gets a tad backed up, can she define a working day as 2 hours and extend this for nearly 2 months?

I want to be fair and know when it is okay to slam her for not getting anything accomplished.
