I would say it’s safe to assume it’s been said on national well over a thousand times. Probably a few thousand. But if it’s such an offensive racist word, why are they able to get away with saying it? I don’t hear them saying ni**er day in and day out… well, except Robert Byrd.

It appears that Rosie, who suggested in that video clip that if you earn $10,000,000 (ten million dollars) you should pay $1,000,000 (one million dollars) in taxes, you are already paying three times that much in federal taxes, or $3,000,000, already.

No, I think it’s her personality that did that long ago. Whatever is said about homosexuality, I really don’t believe lesbians have standards that low.

Since poor folks spend a greater proportion of their income on consumption of necessities (things like food, rent, fuel for the car to drive to work), a flat tax is ‘regressive’. The alleged solution to this is to tax higher incomes at higher rates, so that it will be ‘fair’.

This logic ignores the fact that when people use their money to invest rather than consume, it goes to capital expenditures that improve the productivity of workers, thereby generating the gross profits whence higher wages may come. They are so fixated on the ‘unfairness’ of the ‘fortunate’ having more than they do, and on punishing them for that crime, that they don’t know/care that they’re biting the very hand that feeds them.

An honest attempt to resolve the issue can be found in the Fair Tax, which is a retail sales tax, plus a monthly rebate of an amount of money equal to the tax rate on that basic level of necessary spending. The rebate takes away the ‘regressive’ argument completely, and since the tax is levied on purchases, it isn’t possible to tax ‘rich people’ at a different rate.
