vcferlita on November 8, 2006 at 10:03 AM

Actually yesterday was an out-take!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on November 8, 2006 at 10:03 AM

Thanks Michelle et all, that was just what the Dr. ordered.

E L Frederick on November 8, 2006 at 10:08 AM

Thanks! This helped take my mind off the American public’s tragic tilt toward jihad appeasement and the bright socialist future.

Halley on November 8, 2006 at 10:09 AM

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh……coffee……..croisant……..humor….the world is right again!

Limerick on November 8, 2006 at 10:09 AM

What’s going on, the boss sleeping late today?

Wander on November 8, 2006 at 10:10 AM

Ignore that man behind the curtain!

Now we know how hard it is to make it look so easy.

Freelancer on November 8, 2006 at 10:13 AM

Just what I needed to get going this morning..I woke up so blue, I felt like I had a hang over…and I had nothing to drink last night…I really enjoyed the outtakes…Michelle, you must be a hoot to hang out with..you’ve got an infectious laugh and a great smile..thanks for sharing some of the fun and hard work that you do for us every day. Cheers.

austinnelly on November 8, 2006 at 10:24 AM

Thanks! I needed that this morning.

CP on November 8, 2006 at 10:28 AM

Yes, thanks, I need some humor this morning.

Other than getting to see Michelle all dolled up on the TV, and speaking intelligently about politics, the evening was rather depressing.

I can’t stop thinking about that red lip-stick. Zowie. That was pretty awesome.

But, back to work… gotta make a few extra dollars to cover the increase in taxes the Democrats are so desperate to collect.

Lawrence on November 8, 2006 at 10:29 AM

You all know the one about the definition of Politics?

Break it down: poli – tics

poli – “many”

tics – “blood suckers”

Politics – “Many Blood-suckers”

;)

Lawrence on November 8, 2006 at 10:31 AM

Yesterday that would have had me ROTFLMAO. … It’s gonna be a long two years.

bdfaith on November 8, 2006 at 10:31 AM

Yesterday, to honor my family and my late grandmother in particular, I cast my last vote as a Democrat after 30 years, in heavily Democratic Queens, New York. This morning, I downloaded the necessary forms to re-register as a Republican and will mail them tonight. I am continuing my boycott of Hollywood (4 years, 8 months), network news and all the New York-based media, including the Anglo-Australian New York Post. LIke Whittaker Chambers, I am trading the winning side for the losing side and hoping things work out eventually. On behalf of the four faithful columns, thank you, Michelle, for your fine work.

mymanpotsandpans on November 8, 2006 at 10:33 AM

Was I rip-snorting drunk last night, or did we really just elect out first Socialist United States Senator?

Pablo on November 8, 2006 at 10:36 AM

“Thank You Ma’am, May I have another!”

What can we say? It hurts…. but thanks for the Out-takes, a smile formed on my lips….

flagwaver on November 8, 2006 at 10:38 AM

Come to think of it, Franco had the other four columns too…

mymanpotsandpans on November 8, 2006 at 10:40 AM

Hehe, glad to see MM can laugh at herself and allow us to do so as well. :)

Benaiah on November 8, 2006 at 10:48 AM

Thank you! We all need a laugh today!

irishsquid on November 8, 2006 at 10:51 AM

Pablo on November 8, 2006 at 10:36 AM

And THATS THE GOOD NEWS!!!
Sad sad day.

Dow hits 10,500 by January ’07
Hispanic population numero uno in US by 2009
had many more…..I’m too sad to go on…….

shooter on November 8, 2006 at 10:52 AM

What? I got out of my 3-day sorrow sleep for that?

Thanks for the laugh, tho.

Nethicus on November 8, 2006 at 10:53 AM

Great Vent Michelle! The Outtakes are not only fun but they bring a bit of reality to the persona we watch. I really enjoyed this vent.

omegaram on November 8, 2006 at 10:54 AM

I’m traveling and couldn’t tape a Vent for today, so we thought you all could use some post-election relief.

Hang tough. Get busy. And find something to smile about.

No Post-Election Selection Trauma sufferers here!

No Post-Election Selection Trauma sufferers here!

Despair is for Democrats. :-)

Got Righteous Anger? Bring that on!

Pablo on November 8, 2006 at 11:00 AM

Was I rip-snorting drunk last night, or did we really just elect out first Socialist United States Government?

Pablo on November 8, 2006 at 10:36 AM

I don’t know. The last thing I remember is loosing the house. After that, I got rip-roaring drunk and passed out after staggering down the street, yelling “Thank you Michael Moore, I welcome our new Islamic overlords!” or something like that.

The next think I know, I wake up lying in the cargo hold of a Panamanian cargo ship, wearing a sailor suit, 50 miles out to sea.

All I could think was, “Oh man, not again!”

And now you tell me we just elected a Socialist Government? Man, this day just get worse and worse.

EFG on November 8, 2006 at 11:02 AM

That should be the new Hot Air theme song…

I hear my Tater Tots Calling Me calling me…

Mazztek on November 8, 2006 at 11:04 AM

No Post-Election Selection Trauma sufferers here!

Here on Hot Air? Sad to say, a lot of folks sound like whiny democrats. They’ll get over it. We’re coming back stronger than ever.

Thanks for the laughs, Michelle.

jaleach on November 8, 2006 at 11:05 AM

very funny!

Defector01 on November 8, 2006 at 11:09 AM

Yeah I’m speechless as well. Not much good to say. I wonder how long the Dems will scapegoat Bush for their failures? Increasing taxes and slowing down the economy will have to blamed on him. His out of control policies made the economy seem good, we told you it wasn’t, see…

At least the new season of 24 will give us a little perspective.

At least the CIA can still conduct interrogations.

Well it is now up to me to educate my fellow Califonians on important issues. Have a great day!

Theworldisnotenough on November 8, 2006 at 11:12 AM

Speaking of which, somebody better check on AP. I have a feeling that guy took this pretty hard.

I can just see him, passing out in a park somewhere in New York, lying on the grass at about 3:30 am.

Ian comes by and see him in this state,

Ian: Allah, are you all right?

AP: (Muffled) Go away. I just wanna rest.

Ian: AP, you can’t sleep here, the snails’ll crawl on your face.
.
.
Man, it’s just not right for a diety to come to this state.

EFG on November 8, 2006 at 11:13 AM

OK Michelle ..

Dance sister dance! Life is good. You are awesome.

Now let’s get back to work… thar’s Dems up in them thar’ hills.

RalphyBoy on November 8, 2006 at 11:26 AM

Well, you know Michelle, she gets to wake up every day looking that gorgeous. The rest of us have to shlep a bit. We’ll get ’em. “Events” will intervene. For the Dems, “reality” will intervene. I have a feeling the reason we never heard the Dem plan for Iraq is . . . it isn’t any different from what we’re doing now. I can’t believe (pace Howard Dean) that they’ll really just pull out and let all hell break loose. It’s one thing to do that in Vietnam, but in the internet youtube age? I don’t think it goes over so well, poll-wise. And they don’t care about Iraqis or America’s repuatation vis a vis its allies, but polls? THAT they care about.

Go ahead, call me naive. If this keeps up, I may have to change my username to Ponyboy.

smellthecoffee on November 8, 2006 at 11:35 AM

What? Over? Did you say “over”?

Nothing is over until we decide it is!

Pablo on November 8, 2006 at 11:49 AM

I have to admit, here in Utah all my choices won in the election. The only Democrat in the State’s Congressional Delegation is one of those self-called “Blue Dogs” (I’m not in his distric). So in theory he has a lot of the same beliefs as most Utahns. Guess what? He’s been in office only six years, so he doesn’t get any chairmanships or anything like that! All the important positions will be for allies of the San Francisco Treat. They’ll set the agenda. Dammit, I’m down just thinking about it!
But between this Outakes and getting a new gun (while I still can) this weekend, I hope the funk will pass and I’ll be ready for the fight. I don’t think I got “PEST,” but I think a good week off from politics and news (cable, network or paper) will also help me with the doom and gloom. It has worked great in the past. Hopefully it’ll do the same again.

I think that was Bryan. It’s tough to tell who is who with internet celebrities. I probably couldn’t pick Charles Johnson out of a crowd to save my life.

Also, this was adorkable. Great way to lighten spirits after last night.

I need the giggle..thanks MM..this dreary day looks like it is just going to get drearier..*sigh* Good Vent idea for the “DAY AFTER”

Some laughs are exactly what I need today. I cannot change anything right now except my own attitude. Hard to remember that today.

For all downtrodden posters, you can be thankful that as of Wednesday, November 8th, the homeless problem has been solved in America, and the media will no longer write on this subject. Rejoice, it’s a miracle!

I have a feeling the reason we never heard the Dem plan for Iraq is . . . it isn’t any different from what we’re doing now. I can’t believe (pace Howard Dean) that they’ll really just pull out and let all hell break loose.

I’m quoting myself here, from above. I just heard Howard Dean in a sound-bite on the radio saying (paraphrasing) “Now were going to get a new direction in Iraq, which is what the American people have been asking for. Now we’re not going to just pull out–we’re going to stabilize the country, and then we’ll bring our troops home–that’s what the American people want, they want the troops home.”

Anyone ever heard that little mouthful about “stablizing Iraq” before withdrawal from Howard Dean before? Not me. And that’s one biiiiig mouthful there Howard. Maybe once the insurgents hear that it is the great and mighty Howard Dean that wants the country stabilized, they’ll take up golf instead of terrorism or something. Right. So let’s what the Bush plan? Stabilize Iraq and bring the troops home. What’s the Dean plan? Same thing. Doh!! I can hear the koskids brains popping out of their ears.

smellthecoffee on November 8, 2006 at 2:37 PM

I needed a good laugh. Thanks Michelle! Just tell me everything’s going to be o.k. Please! I’m scared of democrats in power! I’m scared of the terrorists who wanted them in power. I’ve only now been able to crawl out of the fetal position I’ve been in since last night to comment on your blog.

Joshua P. Allem on November 8, 2006 at 3:00 PM

this was adorkable

I’m not familiar with that term. Someone please define it. My best guess: capable of becoming dork-like.

kmcguire on November 8, 2006 at 4:02 PM

That was great, but the political situation is so dire that it requires more clips of Michelle jumping excitedly in a short skirt. Carry on.

Aldo on November 8, 2006 at 4:22 PM

I like the pony tail and hat look. Giggles a plus

Drtuddle on November 8, 2006 at 4:26 PM

Nice ending….

ok, lets lick our wounds and get on with the business of keeping HIllary out of 08. Speaking of Hillary, hmm, she was such an angel through all of this…..gee, seems she was too much of one actually….get ready…she’s aiming for ’08 gang.

johnnyU on November 8, 2006 at 4:31 PM

I woke up this morning with a roaring election induced hangover. The laughs were good for my mind and soul. Thanx michelle. On the matter of the actual election itself, The dems have two choices. Either show their true colors during the next congresional term and turn off the general electorate in 08, or continue to pretend they are moderates and activate the netroots. Either way, we win.

chow on November 8, 2006 at 4:57 PM

Bryan, many thanks for the gag reel. One question remains:

Did MM really mow all that grub during the “Cindy Sheehan Diet” shoot?

Kid from Brooklyn on November 8, 2006 at 5:06 PM

Seriously, I weigh over 3 bills, and would be intimidated by that pile of “food, glorious food…” ;)

Kid from Brooklyn on November 8, 2006 at 5:07 PM

Suggestion:

We need Michelle to market a wall poster of her in that little black dress.

At the risk of dating myself, My Farrah Fawcett poster is getting a bit ratty.

Selling posters of Michelle in that little black number would probably pay most of the expense of running this “Hot Air” blog.

Just make sure to use that same red lipstick you used last night while on TV.

Lawrence on November 8, 2006 at 5:09 PM

Thanks Michelle! You’re even cuter when you’re embarrassed. Your smile and laugh are infectious. ((((( big hugs )))))

Coronagold on November 8, 2006 at 6:28 PM

I think I just fell in love.

Michelle … if I wasn’t attached … and you weren’t married … (sigh)

That was great. Truly great. Do yourself a favor: let that stuff out a little more, will you? Talk about an easy way to win conservative voters …

Thanks for everything over the last couple years. You’ve been a joy. Seriously. Thank you.

Peace to all – keep your chins up – and I’ll check in one of these days.

For now I’m all out of blather …

God bless.

Professor Blather on November 8, 2006 at 7:01 PM

For us red-blooded gals out there, I feel the need to point out that Bryan is quite easy on the eyes.

Redhead Infidel on November 8, 2006 at 7:06 PM

It’s no fair that Michelle is so petite and still eats normal food!

SouthernGent on November 8, 2006 at 8:19 PM

Oh, geez. Now I have to find out that Michelle’s not perfect?

mikeyboss on November 8, 2006 at 8:35 PM

Wow, thanks for the outtakes, Michelle! They were fun to watch. Just what we need to lift up our spirits.

My fellow and sister commentors…fear not. Yes, it appears that socialist ideals may indeed embrace Congress. But, even though a great deal of damage might be done in the next two years, it is only two years. Hopefully, by then the RNP will get its act together, learn from this situation, and come back stronger than ever.

Ummmm…Michelle, could you possibly wear that grey tank top (the one you wore in the fish segment) and that black dress with the exposed shoulder some more, or the short dungaree skirt some more? Just asking…..

The False Dervish on November 8, 2006 at 8:59 PM

You don’t know how bad we ( I ) needed that.

Thanks, that was GREAT ! !

Texyank on November 8, 2006 at 10:21 PM

Thanks, Michelle and Bryan. Things have been so gloomy today, this was right on. Bryan, you’ve got the best job in the world, you know that, don’t you?

Hack Ptui on November 8, 2006 at 10:56 PM

Best job ever.

Great ending. (I’m referring to frame 1422, of course).
