South Dakota result very interesting. There is this feeling on the right that if Rove v Wade is overturned that legislatures will be home free to ban abortion. Not so fast, people may hate abortion, but I suspect they hate the thought of the government extending its control into this area even more.

I live in Missouri, I voted against this Amendment. I’m very ashamed of this. I thought the people of Missouri were smarter, I guess they’re are not. Now we’re The-Clone-Me State. Geeeeezzz .... sickening

Opening Pandora's box...an article just today on cbs

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/11/08/health/webmd/main2163944.shtml

"If this scenario were to be applied to humans, one would have to obtain newly generated [photoreceptor] rods from the state of development comparable to postnatal days 3-7 in the mouse [as in the study]. This is likely to be in the second trimester [in humans] and is clearly not feasible," writes Reh. Harvesting such cells would mean taking them from a fetus or aborted fetus three to six months into a pregnancy. However, recent research suggests it might be possible to generate such cells from human embryonic stem cell lines under the right conditions.

I remember when Roe v Wade was decided...we protested, saying this opened the door to killing a baby at any time during the pregnancy, and at that time, we were told that would never happen. And just today the SCOTUS is hearing arguments on lifting the partial birth abortion ban.

So today we're told hum cloning will never happen. Just give it a few years. We were right then, and we're right now. It will happen.

Michelle... Allah spewed again...

I could cut with words or pull out the verbal bat and give him a beating but I think I care more about HotAir than Allah, in fact.

Michelle... can you please keep him in line?

He might be bad for business. You wouldn't want to alienate the principled individuals that are your following.

Grebrook just proves beyond a doubt how screwed up liberals REALLY are. Give it a couple of years. The public will look at the mental debauchery of the left and go back to where it belongs. It's almost like dealing with a rebellious little teenager. Oh...by the way...does anyone really give a damn about Michael J. Fox and how he's feeling today?

Missouri passed embryonic stem cell research?

Hell yes. We won in South Dakota too, knocking down your abortion ban.

Hear that conservatives? Dead babies for all!

Fairness Doctrine - won’t pass. The nutroots will oppose just as heavily as we will. Opposition to government intrusion of that nature brings people together.

Just wait for UN regulation of the Internet. It's already been discussed. Ambassador Jimmy Carter will certainly vote for it.

The numbers are so close that recounts will definitely come into play.

And let's hope the recounts say NO. This amendment is far too risky--for ethical and financial reasons alike.

The whole thing wasn't ever about "research", it was about opening the taxpayer vault door and handing out money from it like there is no tomorrow.

Missouri residents had better prepare for much higher taxes as their treasury dollars fly out the window.

Amendment 2 was in total freefall the last 2 weeks: polls showing 51% in favor turned out to be true. It appears that almost all the 25% who were undecided turned against it. A little more Suppan, Sweeney and Warner and prestochango -- no Amendment 2. Unfortunately for Warner and company, the clock just ran out too soon.

But no worries -- think Prohibition...

Now clean up your mouth, stiffen your spine and consider the possibilities.
