Start getting used to it.
The boss will be back in studio at FNC tomorrow night as Brit Hume’s official liaison to the blogosphere. Bryan, Ian, and I will be home watching through tears as she reports on the sneering nutroots celebration posts at dKos. Or at least, Bryan and Ian will; I plan on being drunk by around ten to dull the anticipated pain from the Democrat victory speeches.
Here’s a little semi-related good news to lead you into the segment. Harold Ford might like girls, but girls don’t seem too crazy about him.
They also talked abortion, which gave the lovely KP yet another chance to endear herself to the feticide fetishists on her side of the aisle. O’R wanted to know what she thought of his shouting match/interview with abortion evangelist Amy Richards on Friday; needless to say, she was not taken with Ms. Richards’s position.

KP will also be in studio tomorrow doing commentary as the returns come in. I’ve begged her by e-mail and IM to refer to the “netroots” as the “nutroots” at some point in the evening, but thus far she refuses to do so.
Luckily, there’s always a chance of a Kerryesque “slip.”
Exit question: does the name “Amy Richards” ring any bells? If not, here’s a hint: mayonnaise.

“Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.” Is it possible that Ms. Malkin is a Monty Python fan? The phrase does seem to sum up the liberal intentions.

Not to question your beverage habits, but the polls will still be open on the left coast then.
infidel4life on November 6, 2006 at 9:54 PM
That Amy Richards segment last week was great. Did anyone catch it? O’Reilly was shaking.
RightWinged on November 6, 2006 at 9:59 PM
Sure. She was in the movie Undercover Brother.
She was feeding him these whitebread sandwiches with the crust cut off and with extra mayonnaise.
Oh, wait. That was Denise Richards. My bad.
EFG on November 6, 2006 at 10:01 PM
Bad cut after the “specious” comment? The video resets itself.
lorien1973 on November 6, 2006 at 10:02 PM
Thanks for mentioning the mayo. Both KP and I wanted to talk about the heinous mayo-hater’s op-ed on “selective pregnancy reduction.” I wish someone would ask her whether she’s told her surviving triplet about his murdered unborn siblings, but there wasn’t much time to squeeze it in.
Plus, it’s not just something you squeeze into a cable TV segment.
Which just underscores how lousy news coverage is on this issue.

Now that fertility has become a matter of national security, abortion isn’t just murder, it’s sabotage. :-) So is contraception. And homosexuality. And masturbation. And chastity. And–ahem!–erotic dreams that end with a bang.
I don’t know whether “every sperm is sacred”; I’ll let the Almighty speak to that issue. But I know that every sperm is a national treasure. “Waste not, want not.” :-P

It only gets better.

Things are looking good so far in southern Florida for us. In Miami-Dade, with 11.7% of registered voters already having voted, Republicans are up on Dems 54-45 based purely on party id.
DaveS on November 6, 2006 at 10:12 PM
Rush read the column she wrote months ago when she was ‘agonizing’ over her decision to terminate two of her triplets. Given the amount of shallow selfishness she showed, I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that she will not tell the surviving child about his murdered siblings…no, not because she would be ashamed…of course not..she would see it as none of his business..it was her decision after all..her body. What kind of spineless parakeet is she married to anyway?
austinnelly on November 6, 2006 at 10:13 PM
I’m not going to start crying until about midnight my local time.
I don’t think that the Dems have a “slam dunk” in more than a couple of the races. Most of them are what I consider a “coin toss”.
As little faith as I have in the American People as a whole anymore, I do have a slight hope that a tiny bit more than 50% are still rational and capable of seeing through the liberal BS and will go for the lesser of the evils even if they don’t fully support the Republican agenda.
It will be close, but I think it is remotely possible that we might even pick up a couple of seats.
LegendHasIt on November 6, 2006 at 10:14 PM
Amy Richards is just a sick, sick woman. She exemplifies everything that is wrong with modern liberalism — and she a prime example (of many) of why I vote and feel the way I do.
gryphon202 on November 6, 2006 at 10:20 PM
Tomorow, that is….
Tonight, I’m going to ignore the news (unless it shows up on HotAir) and NOT get all upset about the pundits and news readers predictions of doom and gloom.
LegendHasIt on November 6, 2006 at 10:20 PM
That Amy woman’s face is totally lifeless. As a merchant of misery, it’s taking it’s toll on her.
SouthernGent on November 6, 2006 at 10:23 PM
Everyone is so glum here tonight. Let’s see: One poll– Survey USA–has the Democrat in Missouri up +9 and Rasmussen the Republican up +1. In Virginia, Survey USA has the Democrat up +7 and Gallup the Republican +3.
What the &*@&? This Survey USA must have Howard Dean presiding over the polls. We’re supposed to trust these polls with 10 point spreads in accuracy?
Even if conservatives do lose both houses (not at all probable), I’d much rather have the executive branch any day. We surely will have Giuliani as president in 2008 if Dems control at least one house.
januarius on November 6, 2006 at 10:28 PM
So does this mean…..The Return Of The Drunken (liveblogging) Master?
Kid from Brooklyn on November 6, 2006 at 10:46 PM
P.S: If the Dems manage to choke this one away, I’ve got Pelosi and Schumer for the Denny Green-style meltdown. “THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE! AND WE LET ‘EM OFF THE HOOK!!!!”
Kid from Brooklyn on November 6, 2006 at 10:49 PM
Those survey USA polls are “automated” polls. I don’t trust any poll, much less a humanless one.
SouthernGent on November 6, 2006 at 10:49 PM
If Kirsten “accidentally” slips and says “nutroots” tomorrow, I’ll change my name to Kack Ptui for a day so that my initials will be “KP” in her honor.
But someone will have to let me know. I can’t bear to watch the news tomorrow. I’m just going to go vote a straight Republican ticket, and then crawl under my sink with my assault rifle locked and loaded and await the jihad. Somebody let me know when it’s over.
Let’s just hope all those Diebold voting machines are properly rigged up so we win anyway. Lest we forget the terrible lesson we learned from Rosalin in Battlestar Galactica, season 2. So say we all.
Anyway, I’m serious about the name change, Kirsten! (Call me!)
Hack Ptui on November 6, 2006 at 11:16 PM
Too many pessimists here; there is a fair chance the GOP hangs onto both. I wouldn’t bet the homestead on it, but the numbers look better every day.
Mike O on November 6, 2006 at 11:46 PM
“official liaison to the blogosphere” – Typing a blog makes you an expert on bloggers?
What, besides knowing how to ask someone to kickstart a WordPress installation for her, is Malkin’s qualification for the aforementioned post…
It is coming to something when a ‘credible’ news outlet feels it needs to cover ‘blogs’ as part of its news analysis – it is beyond funny when the person it asks to provide that analysis is as unreliable and reactionary as the subject matter she is reporting on.
Sounds like ‘car crash TV’ to me.
eminuu on November 6, 2006 at 11:48 PM
Mike O,
I’ve got a spare assault rifle you can borrow. :-)

Michelle/Kirsten,
You two ladies were very thoughtful and rational on OR. I was very pleased and proud of you both. That is the way two separate schools of thought should treat each other and discuss the issues of the day. Outstanding.
Kirsten, You are absolutely a breath of fresh Democratic air. I wish there were more like you. Then I would have hope there would be a rational and loyal opposition in our country for the future. Today, I don’t.
Michelle, Thanks for bringing KP to our attention and for showing us the rational and civilized approach to conservatism and grace with your charm and wit. God bless you, dear.

Love KP and, Michelle, of course. It’s getting very hard to see differences between their ideologies. Both ladies present very compelling points. However, Nancy Pelosi considered a “conservative”…in “San Francisco?” Yikes…that one’s a bit hard to swallow.
thedecider on November 6, 2006 at 11:55 PM
But, just in case, I’ll have a large bottle of Jim Beam, and a tray of ice cubes, and a box of Kleenex.
Jaibones on November 7, 2006 at 12:01 AM
> I believe this is gonna be our finest hour.
Um…I think it’s safe to say that’s out. If the GOP hold on let’s not congratulate them for their valor, let’s remind them they dodged a bullet and they need to stop sucking so this doesn’t happen again.
Alex K on November 7, 2006 at 12:07 AM
Regarding the abortion questions asked on O’Reilly, you really gotta love the “reasoning” of the Left. Don’t execute the murderers but go on ahead and suck out the brains of a baby before he/she takes its first breath in the name of “Choice” and “Reproductive Rights”. We don’t even kill dangerous dogs in such a way but according to the Left it’s ok to do it to human babies and it’s not just ok, but it’s a GODDAMN RIGHT.
Of all the issues that I’m most passionate about, this one (partial birth abortion) gets my blood fired up the most because of the excuses and justifications used to destroy a human life. It’s sick. To make it worse, “doctors” are the ones who carry out these murders.
Still, according to the Left, I’m the uncaring bastard who plots in the dark on how to control the bodies of women. I’m Pro-Life not because of any view towards women, I’m Pro-Life for the babies.
Next time you’re arguing with someone who is Pro-abortion who is going off about “THEIR Right to choose”, just tell them, “It’s NOT about YOU!”
Yakko77 on November 7, 2006 at 1:24 AM
I second that. Celebrating the avoidance of socialist rule is one thing. It needs to be followed up with all honest conservatives holding the RINO’s accountable for their every misstep. But that needs to remain high on the agenda win OR lose.
eminuu,
A credible news outlet must realize that blogs have become a more responsible source of real, credible news than many “traditional” news outlets. And on balance, right leaning blogs are more likely to blast falsehoods no matter which direction they emanate from. This is not to sat that there are no reasonable left-leaning blogs, or that there are no stupid right-leaning ones, there are plenty of both.
But cream rises to the top, and those which are responsive and thoughtful to real news will continue to draw the most attention. Again, there are exceptions, but dKos will either grow up or take Air America’s path.
Jaibones,
The Gene Kranz quote is perfect. I cheered the first time I heard Ed Harris give that line.

You go cry in your beers, I will be up celebrating a narrow GOP victory.
Mary Matlin knows the real score and James Carville looks more nervous than usual…
Rain, rain, don’t go away,
Pour like stink on Election Day…..

eminuu,
And yet, here you are, commenting on one of her ridiculously highly trafficked, top ranked blogs. And I’ve never heard of you, and have absolutely no idea who you are.
So, your opinion means what, exactly? It sounds about as worthwhile as a FreedHem commercial to me.
Pablo on November 7, 2006 at 6:38 AM
AP, me too. And if the Repub’s start giving victory speeches, then I’m well on my way to celebration mode.
Today though, I’m gonna help GET OUT THE VOTE.
BacaDog on November 7, 2006 at 7:11 AM
Even if the Dhimmis win, and that’s a big IF, and Pelosi becomes the Speaker, it doesn’t mean they just take over the military and pull out of Iraq. Dubya is the CinC. The Dems don’t really wanna pull out anyway, it’s just an election platform. The Pubbies gave ‘em a chance to vote on it and only 3 Dems voted yes. They’re all talk and no walk.
Tony737 on November 7, 2006 at 8:08 AM
Of course the Dems want to pull out of Iraq. That is their so-called ‘unrevealed’ plan. Contrary to popular belief they have a plan–retreat. They just don’t want to expose it until they’ve been voted into office. It’s an unpopular plan.
ahem on November 7, 2006 at 8:24 AM
I think you are right, Tony. When you really think about it, they say whatever it takes to get the kook base to the polls, but after they piss off that base by NOT PULLING OUT–because HOW CAN WE , REALLY?—maybe they’ll sit out the ‘08 mudfest.

Higher taxes, no border security (hey don’t worry about it), and social security benefits for illegals are just a few of my favorite things!
Sarcasm, Just one more service I offer.

I’ve begged KP by e-mail to call me daddy, but thus far, she refuses to do so.

Michelle needs to “dog it up” a little bit….she is way too cute to be seen as fair and balanced against the hags on the left (KP excepted, of course).
