Saddam Hussien just got sentenced to death. This is a great day!

Scot on November 5, 2006 at 4:07 AM

Scot, you HAVE to watch this! It’s a comedy video:

Message to John Kerry: Leave Comedy to the Experts

Christoph on November 5, 2006 at 4:12 AM

And Scot, that is great news… it could not have happened to a worse man.

Christoph on November 5, 2006 at 4:12 AM

Searching the Sunday line-up, I notice Pelosi is still not making appearances.

And I was so hoping to hear her comment on the Saddam verdict.

iNeXuS on November 5, 2006 at 5:22 AM

Please encourage Kerry to go into comedy. I mean let’s be sensible about this. The world does not need another comedian, and therefore the faster he finds a career that pays hims for what he is actually worth, the faster we will remove him from public view…. please encourage him to leave politics, but just wait until after the 2008 elections. Now that will be some good comedy. Sign that 180 form yet Jonny Johnny?

Bob on November 5, 2006 at 5:46 AM

Open Sunday? Okay,here goes.
Does anyone get the same impression about Shepard Smith on Fox that I do – that he is a flaming liberal? I thought he was there to report the news but he seems to get extremely argumentative with some of his conservative guests. I used to like him but he appears to be getting a little too cute for me. By the way – does anyone have any ideas about what is going on between he and Skinner? Sometimes I think he and she should just go down the street and get a room somewhere. Okay all you Shepard fans – let me have it!

OBX Pete on November 5, 2006 at 8:24 AM

If you missed the Obsession Special on Fox, you need to find an hour to watch it.

Mortis on November 5, 2006 at 8:31 AM

Mortis -

I watched Obsession and recorded it. I’m planning to show it to everyone I know. I think everyone in America should watch this. Scary stuff!!!

Suzy-Q on November 5, 2006 at 8:48 AM

Just spotted this on Power Line Blog (who found it on BlackFive) – After you read it, you’ll wish John Kerry would be arrested.

“I was in Vietnam in 1971,” my buddy continued. “I didn’t commit any war crimes and I didn’t see any. Kerry said we were committing war crimes everywhere all the time.”

Remember, readers, this is 1999. We’re in a creaky barrack, wearing t-shirts, BDU trousers, and boots. Earthquake aftershocks occasionally boom–and the booms sound and feel like heavy artillery. And he mentions John Kerry.

“I despise the man,” my friend said. “He lied and benefited politically from his lies….He lied about me.”

flagwaver on November 5, 2006 at 9:03 AM

Suzy, my jaw was on the floor for most of that show.

I mean, we have Hot Air and littlegreenfootballs and stuff…

But nothing hits you in the gut harder than watching a darling little 3 1/2 year old explaining how she hates Jews because they’re pigs and monkeys.

Mortis on November 5, 2006 at 9:05 AM

Christoph,

That video with the kids is really great. I think our troops are terrorizing those kids just the way I though they were. :-)

Thanks again

BobK on November 5, 2006 at 9:18 AM

Oh my golly! I hope someone Tivo’d the smackdown on the WaPo that Steele just delivered on Fox News Sunday. “They’re going to have to print the headline ‘Steele Wins’ and eat it.”

The man’s got momentum. :-)

Pablo on November 5, 2006 at 9:49 AM

The special “Obsession” on Fox is a must-see program. It is being shown again at 4:00p Eastern Time today. Quite alarming.

Dan Rather was on Fox & Friends this morning. If you missed this “non-interview” you missed nothing at all.

doingwhatican on November 5, 2006 at 9:59 AM

OBX Pete, I think Shepard outed himself as a complete Lib during his hysterical Hurricane Katrina coverage, second in its “deck of the Titanic gay steward”-type shrieking only to CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
I’ve been hitting the mute button when he’s on ever since.
Don’t know about Skinner, but speaking of homosexuals, my gaydar tells me that SS is in that category also. NTTAWWT.

Jen the Neocon on November 5, 2006 at 10:24 AM

Shep Smith lost it this week with Corker. Definitely a lefty. I know someone who met him at a party, and she confirmed it. He likes his doobies, I hear.

BTW, Jane Skinner is married to the NFL commissioner, so I doubt there’s anything there.

Anyway, for some freakout news, Lincoln Chafee now leads in Rhode Island.

JammieWearingFool on November 5, 2006 at 10:36 AM

Jammie, Lawsy! Chafee’s our worst RINO! If even he’s leading, how bad aren’t we going to do on Tuesday?!
Now if only Santorum would start making tracks…
I’m getting stoked!

BTW, I loathe and despise Tim Russert! (and yucky Chucky Schumer, too!)
Is that wrong?!? ROFL!

Jen the Neocon on November 5, 2006 at 10:48 AM

I’m hearing some world class lying by the Dems today:
I heard Schumer and Emmanuel say on MTP that a (Democrat) Congress wouldn’t defund the war in Iraq…(of course, these anti-war Vietnam-era hippies wouldn’t!)
and then I flipped over to Stuffingenvelopes’es show and Howard Dean just tried to tell him that Democrats wouldn’t get rid of Bush’s tax cuts!
(and if you believe that, have I got ocean-front property in New Mexico to sell you!)
Clearly, these liars will say anything to get back in power.
Don’t believe them, America!

Jen the Neocon on November 5, 2006 at 11:04 AM

This hippie leans right. I hope you have room for me in your party. Please dont stereotype me.

infidel on November 5, 2006 at 11:13 AM

Is it just me or does Fox News have the crappiest website? Can anyone find a link to Fox News Sunday on their front page? Maybe I’m just missing it, but I can’t find one.

DaveS on November 5, 2006 at 11:19 AM

Max Cleland is basically campaigning for the Republicans on CNN right now, but I’m not sure that he realizes it.

DaveS on November 5, 2006 at 11:24 AM

Hmm, I’ve honestly never paid much attention to Max Cleland before now… he is coming across, right now at least, as one of the least intelligent elected officials I have ever listened to.

DaveS on November 5, 2006 at 11:28 AM

Thanks for the links Christoph.

p0s3r on November 5, 2006 at 11:39 AM

Open thread, eh?

Yesterday I saw that the Palestinian women had interfered with Israeli troops and allowed lots of terrorists to escape.

Two were killed. In this case the women weren’t acting as innocent civillians, but actively interfered by getting in the way as human shields.

Gaza women’s bold move – 2 die, 17 wounded in march past Israeli lines to rescue militants

Palestinian Women Help Free Hamas Gunmen

Palestinian Women Help Free Gunmen

Palestinian Women March Into Combat Zone

This is a pleasant change. Arguing that Palestinians share the blame for their plight

EFG on November 5, 2006 at 11:42 AM

infidel, of course, you’ve matured into Conservatism.
Most of we baby boomers had our hippie moments!

Jen the Neocon on November 5, 2006 at 12:17 PM

No bsg thread this week?

It would be nice to have something to distract me from the anger welling up inside from Dem’s stuffing the ballot box in the name of dead and nonexistant voters yet again.

spacecrystal on November 5, 2006 at 12:29 PM

I’ve got the sandbags filled and stacked around the house.
22 gallons of Folgers coffee(Staryuks not welcome here), 10 gallons of ice creme and a 1/2 a pickup of bottled beer, rocking chair and my shotgun.

My rabbit ears are pointed over the horizon and my 19 year old Trinitron waiting to give me the results. Who needs cable and satellite and cell phone crap? Yep it’s 1960 at the ol’ homestead and I’m ready for a rip-roaring time. Ain’t stayed up all night since 04.

My wife has rented a room from her sister and will be two counties away. She threatened to take the dog but thats where I put my boot down. If the election goes Red then me and the dog will get drunk together. If it goes Blue, well, the dog knows all the hiding places I suppose.

Fort Ol’Codger is hunkering down for election night. Thank god the widow Murphy moved outta town. I got real tired of looking at that Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker.

Limerick on November 5, 2006 at 12:30 PM

Please tell me someone has taped Chris Matthews on MSNBC this morning at about 9:10-9:20. Discussing elections Matthews made the following ridiculous assertions:

1) The Harold Ford “playboy” ad was the most racist ad he’s ever seen

2) Anyone who didn’t think that ad was racist either
a) isn’t from America or
b) refuses to accept reality

3) Black candidates only get elected in places (i.e. states, counties, etc.) where there are very few black people. Thus, Deval Patrick can be elected because he is running in Massachusetts whereas Harold Ford can’t (because Massachusetts has many fewer black people than Tennessee).

4) The reason for #3 above is because white voters don’t vote for black candidates because white voters get afraid of electing black candidates when the places where they live have many more black people (i.e. Tennessee & the South). In other words, white people living in places with very few black people are more likely to vote for black candidates than people who live in areas with many black people, because people from the areas with lots of black people see those black people ona regular basis and are reminded how they don’t like them and therefore will not vote for them.

truthmattersfa on November 5, 2006 at 12:44 PM

Spacecrystal,

I heard the same thing this morning. It appears that some counties in Mo. have more voters registered than live in the counties.

Also heard that there are an unusually high number of absentee ballots in Md in NM. Seems as if ACORN/DNC is stuffing.

BobK on November 5, 2006 at 12:46 PM

On a better note.

Today is my birthday.

Mortis on November 5, 2006 at 12:52 PM

Happy Birthday Mortis

BobK on November 5, 2006 at 1:01 PM

Oh, but this should raise anyone’s mouth corners!

Wow, that brought tears to my eyes! Great link!

SouthernGent on November 5, 2006 at 1:09 PM

Oh, that’s awsome, Bob, let Mary Katharine Ham know! Perhaps she’ll give you a special surprise. Maybe even send you an e-card?

Christoph on November 5, 2006 at 1:10 PM

Sorry, I got mixed up. I meant, “Happy Birthday Mortis.”

Christoph on November 5, 2006 at 1:11 PM

Thanks guys and gals!

And no nekkid ecards, please!

My girlfriend would slaughter me!

Mortis on November 5, 2006 at 1:20 PM

Yes, but then there is the status element that comes to a man corresponding with a beautiful woman. It’s not fair, but people assign high value to those hanging with beautiful women. And challenge + affection in a relationship = attraction.

So you can spin this, Mortis, dude, you can control the outcome. You just have to control yourself and not let your girlfriend control you! She’ll go green with jealousy, but will work to maintaion your attention like she hasn’t since you started giving her yours.

I think that if MHK offers, and she might, to send you an e-card, you should say yes.

You mean that DRAMA QUEEN, Shepard Smith?

EEprom on November 5, 2006 at 1:30 PM

You are right, Chritoph :)

Mortis on November 5, 2006 at 1:43 PM

Does anyone get the same impression about Shepard Smith on Fox that I do – that he is a flaming liberal?

Dont you remember him during Katrina? He really came out of the closet then. Reported non-facts constantly. I havent watched him since then.

lorien1973 on November 5, 2006 at 1:52 PM

Read this Washington Post article:

“Protesters in Tikrit attacked the local Iraqi army base with light weapons. No casualties were reported.”

Protesters? Protesters? Groups of people attacking an army base (anywhere, but in a war zone to boot) with light weopans are protesters?

Now how are we supposed to believe this from the same newspaper?

For a more likely explanation, go here.

Christoph on November 5, 2006 at 1:54 PM

Christoph on November 5, 2006 at 3:30 AM

Those photos with the Iraqi kids just made my day.

You got my head swimming with that post. I think I understand what was there but I KNOW that Matthews is an a-hole and should be taken off the air.
BTW – thanks to those who remarked on ‘Shep’. I thought it may just be me but I see others feel the same. He should be taken off Fox and sent on down to CNN in Atlanta where he would fit in better.

OBX Pete on November 5, 2006 at 2:47 PM

I know this thread is supposed to be about the Sunday shows, and speaking of shows, do the rest of you guys keep getting distracted by the camel toe on the main page? That’s some damn effective advertising.

ReubenJCogburn on November 5, 2006 at 6:40 PM

Does anyone get the same impression about Shepard Smith on Fox that I do – that he is a flaming liberal?

He is a Big Liberal. He sits with Alan Colmes and Greata at the annual Washington Media Awards if that tells you anything.

Rumors on the Net say that he is Gay even though his bio says he is married.

I for one, have never heard him speak about his wife and find it curious that he never talks about women in small talk with other pundits or announcers.

It does not really matter but his is a flaming liberal.

ScottyDog on November 5, 2006 at 7:47 PM

The shift in momentum towards Republicans in polls is not surprising. These pollsters attempt a bandwagon effect in favor of Dems for months in front of election day.

Then they get nervous because they own businesses and can’t be too far off, so they move the polls towards Republicans. These happens in every election cycle.

Conservatives are really enthusiastic. It’s going to be a big day for us on Election Day. My prediction: Allen, Steele, Corker, Burns, Chafee, Talent all win. It’s going to be the turnout that makes all the difference, and conservatives will turn out. The issues are too important. For instance, I sense great enthusiasm for Allen here in Virginia among conservatives.

We keep both houses, and Dems are stunned and suicidal Wednesday morning.
