Unfortunately, I believe that his desk is the closest he’s ever been to either soldiers, war machines, or the front. Alan Colmes is the perfect example of the desk general and/or backseat driver. For those who have been there, to say that he’s a REMF is putting it in context – except that he’s so rear, he’s home!

He’s honest about Rummy without being facetious; its a very leftist line to say — in criticism of Rummy — that he should be fired/ resign… Steele simply says he would not be HIS SecDef. A way of criticizing him without denigrating the administration.

Anyway, I thought Steele was very clear and straightforward and gave direct answers to the questions, which is something you don’t see a lot of politicians doing. Let’s hope that his time in the Senate (knock wood) won’t change that.

If Steele wins and that starts happening in more places around the country, we’re going to see the Democrat party die a quick and painful death. What will result will either be a more responsible liberal party or a leftist movement that will guarantee more conservative governments for the forseeable future.

Compare his style and presence with John Kerry’s. Even when making his initial “non-apology” he had to refer to notes about five times in less than two minutes. In all the clips I’ve seen with Steele, he speaks from what he knows and what he believes, so he doesn’t need to review prepared thoughts.

Colmes gets more and more sickening each day as the election gets closer. His shameful parting shot at John O’neill, and the attempt to make complimentary statements seem contradictory with Michael Steele. How does someone not simply implode from all that hypocrisy and hatred? I believe that he’s fairly intelligent, which means he can’t really believe half of the things he says or asks.
