Can we get Alan some Midol? Somebody’s sleeping on the couch tonight! I know these two represent two sides of the political spectrum but they can sometimes be very hard to watch.

I’m hocking up a loogie right about now………

Alan could save a bunch of money on Prozac by just taking a ball-peen hammer and just hitting himself in for forehead. He will get the same results for minimal cost.
As for what CJ says, he is closer to the truth than you think AP. Just my 2¢ worth.

What’s with Colmes’ shtick about Kerry not bashing the troops? Is that on the Deluded Leftist Robot memo?
Free Kurdistan on November 2, 2006 at 10:49 PM
I’m glad you saw this, AP, I just watched it on Fox. It’s the best video I’ve seen on this issue.
Should be watched by everyone.
Thank God for John O’Neil, his honesty, his courage, and his committment to duty and to his fellow soldiers over three decades after he hung up his boots.
God bless men like that. I’d be honoured to shake his hand.
Christoph on November 2, 2006 at 10:56 PM
Alan was clearly more agitated and animated than normal tonight. Has he seen the internal polls, too?
SouthernGent on November 2, 2006 at 10:56 PM
The Donks can always come up with an excuse for any individual comment (from Kerry, Durbin, Ted Turner, etc.,) but they can’t deny the pattern they have woven over the last forty years. They are, at their core, the party best symbolized by Jane-Fonda-in-the-anti-aircraft-gun.

Republicans: “jumping on the anti-Kerry bandwagon” —-I used to think that Colmes, although VERY often wrong, for the most part was at least respectful of those who disagreed with his brand of “thought”, but after watching him flail and flounder to try (for some unfathomable reason) to defend J.Fruggin’ Kerry, I have come to a different conclusion. He’s just another moonbat waterhead liberal; albeit one with some understanding of the English language. (I’m sure the term “English language” offends REAL MEN LIBERALS to no end.) I’m hillbillyjim and I don’t give a flip WHO endorses this message.
hillbillyjim on November 2, 2006 at 11:05 PM
Alan let it be known that he believes troops terrorize women and children during his rebuttal. Even if the soldiers involved are guilty, it is wrong to group the men and women of the military into that group as a whole. Alan has once again shown us what libs think of our troops and the disdain they hold for those serving.
jeffNWV on November 2, 2006 at 11:05 PM
Alan’s been pissy for the past couple days. It could just be his time of the month, but he acts like he’s been snorting liberal Kool-Aid powder on the whole Kerry issue. He swallowed the bullshit hook, line, and sinker, like a good little mindless liberal drone.
ReubenJCogburn on November 2, 2006 at 11:06 PM
A little birdie told me this is a Democrat supporting website although I haven’t verified that personally.
Nonetheless, it should win the prize for political cartoon of the year.

Gotta feel for Alan, being a know-nothing nobody leftist vaulted into the spotlight by a nitwit like Hannity. You can’t bite the hand that feeds you, at least not very hard, but every night some conservative comes on and bitch-slaps you like a maid in a frat house.
It must get old.

Allah… look what your comments registration hath wrought.
And, for what its worth, Alan is actually a pretty nice dude when he isn’t worked up on TV.

I call Alan Combes, “ol dead eyes”.
Has anyone else noticed that he has a dead expression while “interviewing” guests?
Left_Behind on November 2, 2006 at 11:14 PM
You boys have Alan’s number tonight. He has been OTR for the last week — maybe he has seen the internals — but I think the left just has a special place in hell they’d like to put John O’Neill and the Swifties.
Heh.

I have comments to make about Mr. Colmes offensive treatment of Mr. O’Neil. However, since this blog is rated “PG”. I shall refrain. After all, I’m just a poor, undereducated(BA), enlisted man and should not comment on my “betters”.

Ugh Hannity & Colmes is sooo hard to watch. Hannity’s presumptuous constipated look juxtaposed against Colmes “I slap fight like a 10 year old girl” whining, is too much most of the time. Can we get Colmes in a death match with a gay republican staffer?
Theworldisnotenough on November 2, 2006 at 11:53 PM
( All right, here’s a little red meat to make amends. I’ve never seen Alan so bitchy! )
Alan is usually bitchy when he’s over his head.
His last words in the clip calling John O’Neil shameful
for exposing Sir Kerry says it all.
Texyank on November 2, 2006 at 11:53 PM
Constipated Americans, Unite! This is clearly constipationalism. Oh the humanity. Anti-constipationalist bigot. Constipated people are people too. (not to mention the slap-fightists). Where’s the ACLU on this travesty?
hillbillyjim on November 3, 2006 at 12:16 AM
I’m perhaps alone among the masses on this, but Alan Colmes doesn’t really bother me, on the infrequent times that I’ve seen that show. He’s miscast as a foil for Hannity, but he seems a generally decent and intelligent guy, and I say that even though I disagree with his politics.
This clip, however, represents Alan carrying water, pure and simple, for Kerry. And it’s almost as disgusting to watch as that Larry O’Donnell meltdown of several years ago. Because he’s carrying a Dem’s water? Hardly. Because he’s doing it so poorly and transparently? Yup.
Patton on November 3, 2006 at 12:31 AM
I am so glad to find that I am not the only thoughtful, serious conservative who finds watching H&C a bit difficult–unless Ann Coulter is on. Hubba hubba.
urbancenturion on November 3, 2006 at 12:37 AM
Patton & others favorable to Mr. Colmes, I used to watch them more often, before I became hopelessly addicted to HOT AiR. Back then Alen was calmer and more reasonable. Lately he’s become annoying beyond belief. Hannity annoys me too when he argues a point into the ground, long after it’s already dead.
They know exactly when a hard break is due - then use tonight’s tactic of slamming the guest, with no choice to respond. Alen also, of late has developed this annoying trait of blindly standing up for the opposing of anything. You say black, he says white, just because. He can be reasonable though and I find him well-bred. Something happened in the last year.
Best part of the tape “…these boys are all better than Kerry on his best day” –O’Neill.

Entelechy on November 3, 2006 at 12:59 AM
John O’Neill is the man. No one wants to fight side by side with Kerry, they know that he has no honor and would leave a wounded comrade to die. How do I know? How many want him around now that he is wounded. The Democrats would eat their own for a few votes. That is why the military is so Republican, they carry their wounded, they die for their comrades, they fight for what is right. Honor and Service, and John O’Neill exemplifies that.
right2bright on November 3, 2006 at 1:05 AM
Give Alan a break. I am going to give him some leeway and say I think he is so bitchy because he knows Kerry said what he meant to say and now he is stuck in the position of defending the piss poor excuse that sorry boob came up with because as a faithful liberal he can’t admit that he believes that is what Kerry really thinks so close to such a tight election.
Or maybe he is just watching how many of the polls are trending towards republicans, who knows.

“You question people’s Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts, and YOU’RE undermining the military, and it’s shameful, what you’re doing.” - Alan Colmes
Not “people’s”, Alan. Kerry’s. When you assume command of a unit, you get to learn a great deal about the kind of person who held that command before you. Memos, reports, a very wide variety of documents provide a portrait of your predecessor’s thought process. Not to mention the statements and opinions of unit members who served under him.
And Alan, your recorded attitude towards and verbal treatment of our military gives you NO moral authority to decide who’s behavior is shameful. Shameful was you taking that wickedly cheap pot-shot as time comes to an end, you jerk.

I know that this is serious business, but if you can’t laugh at your own self, rest assured that someone else will laugh at you anyway. I prefer to be first in line. I’m not gonna back this up with a thesis or a hundred references. I’m just gonna chuckle a little. It is actually fun. Really. By the way, DON’T joke around next Tues. Do the RIGHT thing.
hillbillyjim on November 3, 2006 at 2:56 AM
Alan makes me cringe more than ever. He does not get the concept of one person talking at a time.
Sean is getting harder to take as Tuesday grows near.I’m wishing Roger would slap ‘em both.
I personally can’t wait for Tuesday. Maybe things were more divided during the Civil War — but it wasn’t on TV day & night.
Allah, you’re right — other guys wrong. I don’t see why they can’t see that Kerry just screwed up. It’s not like we have to stop hating him. We still got the gift that keeps on giving as our October surprise.

Alan is a brainless mummy. I think he died 10 years ago and no one told him.

Where’s the evidence of Kerry’s “prepared remarks”? Can we see this “transcript”? Or does it only exist in the minds of the Kerry staff?
Seixon on November 3, 2006 at 3:53 AM
Sean Hannity is brining himself down by allowing himself to be seen as the weight on the right side of the scale, supposedly “balancing” the featherweight Colmes on the left side of said scale. A moth could land on that scale and tip it; kinda like upcoming “weigh-in” on 11-7-’06, huh? Damn scary if you ask me. Hannity has went from pointed commentary backed by salient argument to finger-pointing and bullying; Alan Colmes has gone from thoughtful dissent to whining, pure and simple. The whole show has gone from “ground-breaking” to “where the hell is the remote?” We’ve got to somehow move past such virulent partisanship and learn to have genuine differences and still move forward so our government can actually move past gridlock when the times so desparately call for action in the face of the blatent Islamofascist Jihadi Imperialist (world domination) aims of our enemies. Pie-in-the-sky, I know; so vote Republican next Tues. so we don’t whine ourselves into Dhimmitude. For you Liberati out there; yes I said “enemies”–probably shoulda said ENEMIES

AP,
you cut that one too short. Alan and John were still gong after each other until they cut to commercial, maybe 10-15 seconds more. Alan clearly has disdain for John O’Neil for
trashingspeaking the truth about Kerry. Alan was just soooo agitated. I guess Alan doesn’t buy the Swifties’ story. Too bad. He can get worked up all he wants becuase he is intellectually lazy, as most libs are.JohnnyD on November 3, 2006 at 7:58 AM
You’re right AP, I’ve never seen Alan so bitchy, and thats saying something because he quite often gets snotty and very bitchy with conservative guests.
But this Colmes outdid himself - He totally insulted the guest, with a most inflamatory statement, “You’ve made a career out of bashing Kerry”
John O’Neil, much to his credit, was able to remain calm and respond with dignity about Kerry’s reckless statements about our troops throughout the last 35 years.
John O’Neil - Has the patience of a saint. And he comes off as a credible gentleman while Alan Colmes came off as a desperate mean-spirited attack dog.
flagwaver on November 3, 2006 at 8:18 AM
Hasn’t anyone noticed this is Colmes trademark signoff with any conservative guest? I swear the DNC must give him a talking point zinger tailored specifically for the “enemy” guest appearing each night.
Then, when for all intents and purposes the interview is over, the background theme music fades in, the camera is panning away from the guest, Alan, with smirk and blank stare, tosses out that zinger like an unexpected hand grenade and the guest is denied any opportunity to respond.
Last night’s zinger ….. “You question people’s Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts, and you’re undermining the military, and it’s shameful, what you’re doing”, pointed out previously in this post by Freelancer and Texyank. Thanks guys.
We should all question Alan’s ability to debate any issue off the cuff and without a stack of
talking pointsnotes in front of him.fogw on November 3, 2006 at 9:00 AM
Give Alan a break.
GMAFB!
Douche bags like Alan and Kerry have American blood on their hands. If the Left spent the same energy supporting the troops as they have undermining them we’d be significantly further along in the GWOT. And there’d be significantly fewer American troop casualties.
God bless John O’Neil and Colmes and his ilk can go to hell.
there it is on November 3, 2006 at 9:10 AM
I too have a hard time watching H&C anymore. I check Hannity’s website for the guests appearing before I tune in.
I’m having a hard time with the fair and balanced part lately, also. Aside from the big guns on FOX, the rest of the talking heads seem to spout Democrat talking points or show similar bias when they are reading the news. I can’t remember the source, but there was a comparision of political persuasions between FOX and the MSM which posited the MSM breaks 90+/5% to Dems in voter registration as opposed to 80+/15% Dems for FOX. You can look at FOX as 3 times more right wing than the MSM, or 11% less liberal.
Also, John O’Neil was a lifelong Democrat until he realized it wasn’t his party anymore (after he had worked on the John Edwards 2004 Presidential primary campaign). He’s like Zell MIller, in that he can’t abide fools, who also happen to be traitors. Alan doesn’t say anything about O’Neill’s Dem credentials, does he?

Oh my God, thry’re BROTHERS , Kerry and Colmes…look at ‘em.

O’Neill demonstrating said lie - shameful

Drtuddle on November 3, 2006 at 1:11 PM
What’s with Colmes’ left eyebrow, everytime he makes a pointed comment it rises up 6″ into his never ending forehead.
I give no quarter to Colmes as some of the other bloggers do, such as he’s really a nice guy, other than his being a liberal. Alan Colmes is nothing more than a snake in the grass. He bites then slithers away. This guy is no more than a mind conflicted liberal loon. His only purpose is to be the pious Hannity’s foil.
I agree that the show is a bit much to handle lately. It mimics a Chinese fire drill most of the time.
Hannity has become too full of himself and needs to reign in his ego somewhat. Who wants to see Sean riding a horse or trying to sing at one of his unending “freedom concert?” That’s not why we tune in, stick to the debating issues! At least TRY to debate rather than screaming overtop of one another.
As for Alan, I’m convinced that a coup de grace is the only thing that will cure his scrammbled leftist brain. He’s beyond redemption.

ReubenJCogburn on November 3, 2006 at 2:20 PM
Alan has devolved into little more than Kerry’s bedpan emptier. No doubt his hostility towards O’Neill is because of the SUCCESS of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth in torpedoing Kerry’s 2004 run for the Presidency.
Remember this Swiftboat advertisement? 35 years later, Kerry is still insulting our intelligence as well as the troops. Colmes dishonors himself by trying to whitewash Kerry.
