1) How soon will the next nuke go off?
2) Where?
3) Who’s will it be?

I think you're onto something, Professor. I'm increasingly afraid that before all this is finally settled, <em>somebody's</em> going to get nuked. My suspicion:

1) Not sure.
2) Iran.
3) Israel.

And if that happens, we'd better damn well back Israel up all the way.

<blockquote>And I also can’t help wondering if we couldn’t have done the same with a proper response to Hezbollah’s act of war in 1982 instead of selling arms to Iran.

You got that right, Pablo. So many missed opportunities. How's that old expression go? "Too soon old, too late smart."

<blockquote>Those of you who have a hard-on for a war with Iran are some really sick f**ks.

Constantine on November 2, 2006 at 1:50 AM</blockquote>

Showing your liberal idiocy for all to see. Bravo!!

We fight because we were attacked. The biggest problem is that due to your side we have been far too restrained in our response. Personally I think we should have started in Afghanistan and driven straight through Iran and Iraq to the beaches in Syria. Yeah the polls show me as one of the 60% that is unhappy with this war but they don't explain why. When the decision to wage war is made we should not take half-assed measures.

WHAT are you doing up all night kids? I'll have to start paying attention to the time stamp and ignore anything written until after 8 AM, 'specially ugly.
What happened, were you coming back in from a bar fight?

What is happening in the Mediteranian? Seen any 'BIG boats' on the other side of Israel?

To manyvariables. Could be a strike at Afghanistan, could be just re-postioning, could be quiet negotiations with a little show of power just to make sure they know we are not a spread thin as the MSM is preaching, could be readying for some strategic strikes. You can find out most any ship where they are at any time, just log onto the ships website. They don't hold that as secret as you think, hard to hide a carrier and its compliment.

Much ado about nothing? Time will tell.

However, perhaps it's time to consider if the Middle East (and the world for that matter) would be better off if the "<strong>Islamic Republic of Iran</strong>" became the "<strong>Islamic <em>Parking Lot </em>of Iran</strong>"

In the meantime, why don't we sponsor a Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cartoon contest?

<blockquote>The NYTimes also said that everything they reported could be found elsewhere, but they were no less responsible.</blockquote>

Actually Robb, the NYT knowingly printed leaked classified material and lots of it, proudly.

NPP is right. Usually they wait for the incoming carrier to get on station before they let the other one leave. No big deal.

Nothing personal, but if you all would mind not discussing fleet activity, I would really appreciate it.

The NYTimes also said that everything they reported could be found elsewhere, but they were no less responsible.

I'm not being rude, just asking please.

Oh, forgot to mention, my 6th grade art teacher HATED my drawling! HA!

Professor:

1. When? As soon as Iran can make one.

2. Where? Moscow.

3. Whose? Iran's, but set off by Chechens.

---------------------------------------------

As for Military folks bein' stoopit, I joined up in '88 'cause I thought we were gonna do Libya or Iran, well I was wrong, see how dum I is? We did Iraq, same thing, only off by 1 letter.

They had "military experts" on CNN predicting 2 years and 200,000 dead U.S. Troops, I predicted 2 months and 200 dead. Me so stoopit.

To clarify the above: I'm not talking about a test. I'm pretty convinced we'll see a nuclear attack somewhere, within the next decade.

Just not sure when, or who. (But I'm glad I'm not in Israel).

A couple of idle questions in light of the threads theme:

1) How soon will the next nuke go off?
2) Where?
3) Who's will it be?

Just curious. You'll notice by the way that the question is when - not if. Does anybody actually think it's an if?

Bonus question: who will liberals blame? (Nevermind. That's too easy).

I was in 6th grade during the Iran hostage crises. For art class I drew a picture of an American Aircraft Carrier accidentally dropping anchor on top of and sinking the entire Iranian navy. I've been a warmonger ever since!

Limerick is right, one U.S. Navy airwing could wipe out the whole Iranian air force sink the their whole navy AND sell tickets on a glass bottom boat to view what's left of it.

Iran and Libya were they 2 reasons I joined the Air Force in '88. Iran's gonna get it, and they deserve it. (Not the general population, just the mullahs at the top).

My only contact with Iranians comes from my friend the rug merchant. The people of the countryside are very much like US citizens. Ineedajihad and the assahollahs are the aberation in this equation. 13 bullets, preferably .50 cal.

Sorry that my above post is a bit off topic. I just needed to rant a bit. As far as our naval presence in the Middle East goes, when was the last time we launched a surprise attack against someone? It's generally our M.O. to give our target ample warning that if they don't stop their offensive behavior, blah, blah... Our navy is always over there floating around. I don't necessarily care if they ever tell us what they're up to or where they're going. I'm just glad as hell they're doing what they do. If something is going to happen we'll hear about it.

As NPP said and by my knowledge, I made four deployments to the Gulf, all it is is the regular rotation of CSGs (carrier strike groups) and ESGs (expeditionary strike groups). When a new group replaces the old one, they spend a few days transferring ammo, info, etc. between the two groups. The outgoing groups could be spending a little more time in the region than usual as a show of force to the Iranians if they are holding exercises right now. We, the coalition Navies, are holding or have just completed an exercise off of Bahrain also. So don't read too much into this.

I would like to think our president won't allow Iran to get to the point where they have a viable nuclear weapon. However, we did let North Korea get to the point of actually testing one. Does anyone have a doubt that as soon as one these bastards has one that actually works, they'll use it or sell it to someone who will? It's not just two super powers pointing missiles at each other any more. Today there is a wacked-out fanatical religious element involved that seemingly has no sense of restraint. The only reason Ahminneedofjihad hasn't directly attacked Israel or the U.S. to this point is he knows we would destroy him. But he wants to. And if he had a nuke he would deliver it at his earliest convenience. Then we would have to use ours and it would be a big f'ing mess in the world.

We need to handle this before it gets to that point. Only problem is, how many fronts can the U.S. fight on before we're stretched too thin? Why won't the European countries man up and help us here? Half the western world is in denial of reality. Just because we don't hate them, we can't fathom just how much they despise us. Too much liberalism in the west has made us weak.

Ok, I feel better now.
