Video: Yet another parody of the RNC’s anti-Ford ad

I don’t know who produced it, but according to moonbat Andy Ostroy, it’s (a) “awesome” and (b) expected to be featured on CNN sometime today. No surprise there: two different CNN correspondents admitted on air yesterday re: Kerrygate that they hope the story goes away soon and will do what they can to make that happen.

The ad itself is flat and perhaps a tad heavy-handed on the “Republicans are child molesters” theme. But the punchline delivers.

Blowback

*waiting*…um, nope…Uh, oh wait!…nope. Still not laughing.

Aren’t the democrats already parodies of themselves? Do they need to enforce the idea?

lorien1973 on November 1, 2006 at 10:00 AM

Forget this commercial it’s not the issue.

The real issue is Kerry’s hatred for American Soldiers and Webb’s Child Pornography fantasies.

JayHaw Phrenzie on November 1, 2006 at 10:02 AM

That kid was obviously of age…

Homophooooobia!

JasonG on November 1, 2006 at 10:02 AM

You have to figure some outings are coming in order to distract people away from the Kerry implosion. But calling people child molesters won’t quite win people over.

JammieWearingFool on November 1, 2006 at 10:03 AM

Wow. That was lame.

Catroast on November 1, 2006 at 10:09 AM

What was that ad about, Gary Studds, Barney Frank or some other Masshole?

Wade on November 1, 2006 at 10:10 AM

Hmm…good idea but definitely could be much better. I think one Foley joke would do the trick and where is the reference to Iraq? So many possibilities there. You would think that since the left has so many Hollywood types and pretty much every political comedian on their side they could produce some sharp, hilarious ads. The DNC should consult the Daily Show/Colbert Report writing staffs if they really want to mock the Republicans with satire.

JaHerer22 on November 1, 2006 at 10:11 AM

Is it just my imagination, or is the Left starting to develop a sense of humor lately? Let the healing begin!

quiggs on November 1, 2006 at 10:17 AM

So CNN wants one story to go away so they can flog an already-dead story?

Gotcha.

Slublog on November 1, 2006 at 10:17 AM

Awesome. I actually laughed out loud! Good job, liberal weenies.

Of course, that’s the difference, isn’t it? Our side can laugh at ourselves.

Professor Blather on November 1, 2006 at 10:22 AM

That ad is just plain stupid.

Note the inter-racial couple. That was pretty low. I just didn’t get any of it except the young boy talking about a congressman… was he referring to Studds, perhaps?

stenwin77 on November 1, 2006 at 10:29 AM

Wow, you really hit the nail on the head JayHaw. Americans need to focus on the pressing issues of the day. How can we be bothered by trivial issues like the mounting violence in Iraq, a doomed Social Security system, skyrocketing healthcare and education costs, and a ever expanding immigration problem when guys like Kerry and Webb are out there. One guy makes an absurd, possibily botched, comment about our troops and another had the nerve to write an historical fiction novel with a few sex scenes in it 15 years ago and these American-hating liberals want to talk about something else! WTF!

JaHerer22 on November 1, 2006 at 10:31 AM

that was so retarded… I don’t say that as a Republican, I say it as a consumer of comedy.

RightWinged on November 1, 2006 at 10:31 AM

JaHerer22,

I think one Foley joke would do the trick…

Yup, and the first one was a pretty good one! They should have left it there. But alas, they’re a little short of new material and flogging the dead Foley horse leaves this looking more pathetic than anything else.

It really could have used a target or two as well. Attacking a generic congressman doesn’t really work.

Pablo on November 1, 2006 at 10:35 AM

Yaaawwwwnnnn!!!

vcferlita on November 1, 2006 at 10:39 AM

Started off well, but it soon became clear that they were completely out of ideas, and they just kept repeating the same lame lines to ever-diminishing effect…

But enough about the Democratic party, the video wasn’t that funny either [/rimshot]

jic on November 1, 2006 at 10:47 AM

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Is it over yet?

jarhead05 on November 1, 2006 at 10:52 AM

Mediocre. “IM me” would have been funnier.

Phil Smith on November 1, 2006 at 10:57 AM

Jayhaw –
I laugh everytime I see you post and remember when you first joined and called for help because you forgot that darn “k” :) I wish the hotair team would help you get a “k” but in the mean time … you have to admit, it is hilarious:)

By the way, I’m originally from KS and we are huge Jayhawk fans.

wytammic on November 1, 2006 at 11:04 AM

There is no one on the right who wouldn’t look at that and just say as one said above how the Dem’s a parodies of themselves. The more they call us Nazis the more they point the finger at themselves. The propaganda and the deranged character assasinations are strait out of the Hitler propaganda machine. Just un-freeking believeable. The people in this ad as well as all the other Leftoids need to be banned from this country.

This in the United States of America not Commie/Socialist/IslamoFacist amerika. F**k all you bastard anti/hate America freeks. Your scum of scum and just the ugliest vermin crawling this earth.

auspatriotman on November 1, 2006 at 11:14 AM

The Foley Scandal is based on facts, documented by the email sent by Foley. This ad that in part parodys the known facts , to refudiate the the RNC call me ad is an addmission of guilt. So the Ford camp in essence is saying yeah I partied with playboy chicks, but the Repubs partied with with male pages, as if this somehow excuses the playboy party behavior.Thats fine if you want a celebrity seeking Jack Kennedy type personaliy as your Senator. A little info to Mr.Ford. The difference here is the Massachusetts Catholics would endorse that behavior. I don’t think the christian congregation from Tennesee would be quite as tolorant of the hard core party image.

sonnyspats1 on November 1, 2006 at 11:21 AM

The video just reinforces the view the Democrat party is bankrupt on ideas. The best they can do is emulate the RNC and not very well at that.

MarkB on November 1, 2006 at 11:31 AM

successful satire requires that there be some recognizable truth…

naliaka on November 1, 2006 at 11:44 AM

The punchline would have rocked if they hadn’t overdone the pedo theme throughout.

Also: “If the constitution cant protect us from terrorists why should we protect it?”

I think this makes a good point.

Lacks the brillance of Scott Ott…

I KNOW funny. Funny is a friend of mine. THAT sir, was not funny.

–Lloyd Bentsen

Is it just me, or did that fall completely flat?

CyberCipher on November 1, 2006 at 12:00 PM

Interesting. They imitate the ad that totally freaked them out when the RNC ran it. The question is, will they withdraw it at the same lightspeed as the RNC since it was done in such bad taste?

fogw on November 1, 2006 at 12:03 PM

It’s dumb but it has its moments. Like the “playboy club” girl. Bodacious.

Jaibones on November 1, 2006 at 1:46 PM

Fogw-
Nope, it goes on CNN and stays there.

bookwurm322 on November 1, 2006 at 2:02 PM

I think the idea had potential, but it just didn’t deliver.

n2sooners on November 1, 2006 at 2:37 PM

Wow….the Democrat party members really hate homosexuals. Don’t they keep telling everyone that they are the party of tolerance? Nope…I’m just not seeing it. Tsk, tsk.

lynnv on November 1, 2006 at 2:43 PM

…—***yawn**—…

JMarler on November 1, 2006 at 3:38 PM

Did you see how that black man had his arm around that white woman?

Wait till the Daughters of the Confederacy hear about this!

The Ugly American on November 1, 2006 at 3:44 PM

A gay-bashing video from Liberals. Stop the presses…zzzzz

pedestrian on November 1, 2006 at 11:53 PM

I’m with the prof here – thought it was funny. Sure, it didn’t draw many fair inferences, but neither did the Ford ad IMHO.
