Iran names winner of Holocaust cartoon contest

Kerrygate won’t last forever so we should start weaning ourselves off. Here’s a little shot of perspective to help us get our bearings. It dovetails nicely with today’s running theme about the uneducated.

Your winner:

holocaust-toon.jpg

I called this one, sort of. This was one of two ‘toons that I posted in late August as noteworthy among the several hundred I looked at. I’m surprised it won, though; there’s no vampire with a hook nose biting the neck of any Palestinian children. That’s practically a requirement for this garbage. Maybe they wanted something more, ah, subtle.

Condolences to Marxist degenerate and longtime LGF favorite Carlos Latuff, who took first runner-up. There’s always next year — hopefully: according to the exhibit’s curator, the contest will continue annually “until the destruction of Israel.” Someone should check Ahmadinejad’s calendar.

Elsewhere today, one of the moderate Muslim state’s most eminent clerics called on the west to stop threatening world peace by criticizing Islam.

Okay, where do we go riot now? There’s not an Iranian embassy near me.

I don’t know about anyone else, but just seeing that image makes me so mad I think I’ll go to Africa and kill some nuns, burn flags, and torch a KFC. That’s “religion of peace” way to handle these things.

RightWinged on November 1, 2006 at 3:15 PM

Any embassies burning yet…..? No, just the sound of crickets chirping.

vcferlita on November 1, 2006 at 3:17 PM

I dont get it. I thought they, the Iranians, were holocoust DENIERS. Seems to me to be a sort of acknowledgement that it happened.

The image of the railroad tracks and the Nazi death camp in the cartoon are on the Israeli side of the fence (mosque in background), to serve as a reminder to Israelis of what the Palestinians want for the Jews.

Attila (Pillage Idiot) on November 1, 2006 at 3:19 PM

Oh the holocaust never happened . But let me show you a picture of my grand children.

sonnyspats1 on November 1, 2006 at 3:26 PM

Ali Bardakoglu, head of the country’s religious affairs, said “it was saddening” to see Islam being criticized while the religion’s contribution to civilization is ignored.

“This attitude, which fuels division and lack of mutual trust, is seriously threatening world peace,”

See? it is a peaceful religion. All you have to do is not criticize it.

Foolish infidels.

dalewalt on November 1, 2006 at 3:26 PM

Can some one help me with this one? What’s the point really? That Israel is using a fake Holocaust to cover up mosques?

Sorry, I just don’t get it.

Esthier on November 1, 2006 at 3:29 PM

How about we have a caption contest for their winner?

My entry: “The most common use of stolen Israeli equipment.”

RiverCocytus on November 1, 2006 at 3:45 PM

the contest will continue annually “until the destruction of Israel.” Someone should check Ahmadinejad’s calendar.

And it’s us that need to be more tolerant and understanding??

Elsewhere today, one of the moderate Muslim state’s most eminent clerics called on the west to stop threatening world peace by criticizing Islam.

That just says it all.

Like Michelle said, it is the religion of perpetual outrage. Personally, I am sick of those F**k heads, and it looks to me like many other parts of the rest of the world are too. With luck, maybe all the attention will evaporate and the world will be moving on. In the mean time, out biggest goal should be to hang in there and make sure those nuts don’t get their hands on all the Iraqi oil reserves. As demented as they are, unlimited money isn’t enough to let them take over the world, but it would force us to get serious about taking them down hard.

Shmo on November 1, 2006 at 3:54 PM

Looks like it has something to do with the defensive wall separating Israel from Palestine. The wall art would indicate that Israel wants to turn Palestine into Auschwitz. This is all just a guess, of course.

old_dawg on November 1, 2006 at 3:59 PM

Shmo Yes. Stay the Course moves into Get Er Done ! LOL

sonnyspats1 on November 1, 2006 at 4:03 PM

Oh, I get it. The wall panels are reflective and are showing the Palestinians the Auschwitz-like prison that they have created for themselves.

Wow.

I wonder if the Palestinians get it…

This is so mild compared to what comes out even state-run media in the Middle East every day. Go to Memri.org for a taste. To paraphrase a joke from a blog (this one?) that I got a kick out of recently–Why are there no Iranians on Star Trek? Because it’s in the future.

The YAWN heard ’round the world …

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.

Man, I miss the Nazis and the Japanese sometimes. What lame enemies we have these days. Cartoon wars. Puh-leeze.

Professor Blather on November 1, 2006 at 4:16 PM

Esthier-it’s basically saying Jooos are the Nazis because the Apartheid Wall is making the peaceful Palestinians suffer in exactly the same way the Jews suffered at Auchwitz.

YAWN!

That fence (and I’ve seen it in person) is a beautiful thing. God Bless the Bedouin trackers and IDF soldiers who can sense terrorist farts all around it’s length.

Israelis cannot build that walll fast or higher enough. Have a moat in front of it and fill it with crocs and huge pythons as well.

Hilts on November 1, 2006 at 4:23 PM

Hi WriterMom this is your male friend from LGF who met your father for lunch in New York.

Hilts on November 1, 2006 at 4:24 PM

Hilts!

I didn’t recognize you with the new outfit!

WriterMom on November 1, 2006 at 4:30 PM

Our cartoonist, Michael Ramirez, can kick your cartoonists, Derkaqui’s, ass.

right2bright on November 1, 2006 at 4:56 PM

Here’s a thought – couldn’t we hold a Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cartoon contest?

Just think – it’s a win-win for all: since it doesn’t protray Mohammed, it shouldn’t offend those who follow the “religion of peace and perpetual outrage” and it will definitely not offend the rest of the world!

All should have a chance to enjoy their right of self expression in “honoring” such a distinguished person through the medium of cartoons.

After all. look at all the love he’s brought the world lately. Isn’t it about time to show and give a little back?

What do you say – just one little Mahmoud Ahmadinejad cartoon contest to show our love?

Emmett J. on November 1, 2006 at 10:26 PM

I don’t get it. But I’m just ignorant military trash.

seejanemom on November 2, 2006 at 9:00 AM

I’m still waiting for the riots, fire bombings, etc. from pissed off Jews….

Yakko77 on November 2, 2006 at 1:20 PM

I am waiting for Kerry to deny that there was a holocaust. It was just an excuse for the west to build up their military.
