I used to think Dean was a vaccuous, empty suit. Now he has some serious competition!

Maryland has been voting for Cardin for 20 years now, based on what, other than a “D” next to his name? I haven’t heard him say one thing of value so far, and after ten campaigns for congress you’d think he’d have something worth mentioning.

On his congressional website, Cardin’s Key Issues are:

- Environment
- Federal Employees
- Fiscal Responsibility/Taxes
- Health Care
- Human Rights
- International Trade
- Pension Reform
- Social Security

Follow the link to learn the “details” of his position on each of these. You won’t find much. Basically, a standard issue socialist who thinks the federal government is Big Daddy. Nothing about foreign policy (”I have a plan”), border security, immigration enforcement/reform. The major issues of the day, and he’s off the radar.

He has a press release about his support for a Research & Development Tax Credit, and a Homeownership Tax Credit, which says that Republicans have stymied both bills. Yes they have, because they prefer a tax CUT to a tax credit every time. Tax cuts are harder to gerrymander with a myriad of qualifications, and put less money in government’s power. A tax credit, on the other hand, is taking tax money paid by one group and giving it to another, as if it were government generosity. Ever the communist preference.

This worthless oxygen thief needs to get a real job, and quit wasting Maryland’s time. Go Steele!
