His death was no tragedy; the guy spent all his time playing with wild animals. It was bound to happen.

That makes it less unexpected, not less tragic. Imagine telling that classless comment to his family.

I think I understand part of their (Matt and Trey) point in being extreme, and I’m glad we live in a country where they’re free to be so.

They can be funny and clever, but I find this neither.

I doubt Steve’s family would find it amusing.

While infinitely lovable, Steve was reckless and pushed the envelope like some base jumping adrenaline junkie until the end.

Does MTV Networks, and therefore ultimately Time/Warner own Comedy Central? I am curious who censors it so selectively -the network, or the FCC. Seems it’s the former, not the latter.

Anyway, I agree, Steve would probably laugh and say “Crikey! Matt and Trey are naughty little buggers ain’t they?”

I agree. That’s the thing about Irwin, he had a sense of humor, and it was not infrequently self-directed. And if his head ever got too big, he had Terri there to deflate it for him.

If they were selective (only making fun of certain celebrities, making fun of O’Reilly but not Matthews or Olberman), their bad taste would be compounded by bias. They might not’ve gotten around to Olberman yet (who has?), but I’m sure that there’s no rule that he’s exempt. As it is, they’re equal-opportunity offenders.

I don’t watch. Still, they occasionally offend folks *who offend me*, and that’s my point. I’ll bet that there were “truthers” out there offended by the recent episode with “‘So who blew up the Towers, then’, ‘A bunch of pissed-off muslims, that’s who’”. I was rolling.

Not in good taste? That’s comedy today, outside of a few comedians. It’s all fart jokes, sex jokes, and, among a few who want to go the way of Maher and Stewart and that ilk who’re usually Lefties, political and current-events jibes. Comedy today is a cess-pit.

South Park actually has the virtue of being original and fairly unbiased. There’s something to offend everyone, as well as something to make everyone guffaw.

…I still don’t watch. We have kids, for one thing….
