…allow me to opine, please…just a little vent….

I’m a bit uncomfortable with folks wishing this guy’s death or dismemberment. It’s understandable. If they’d've filmed the butt-whupping this sort of language often gives rise to, I’d be cheering at my screen. But, death? Snipers? It’s just venting, but forgive me….

The guy in the t-shirt was a jerk for what he said. It was evil. You don’t kill folks for speaking in my country, even if you REEEEEEALLY want to, even if it’s evil. If it sinks to the level of sedition, we jail ‘em, but we don’t kill ‘em.

This guy and his compadres are empowering Islamism, who want nothing more than a new and freshly-painted Caliphate, where folks CAN be killed for their utterances. It may one day happen there, but it doesn’t happen here.

We don’t want it to happen here…the guys who killed Ms. Butterfield’s son would do it, but that’s why Tony Butterfield was there in the first place.

In the arena of ideas you meet ideas — even drunken or stupid or execrable ideas — with better ideas.

…now, if this loser were to throw a punch….

Yes, because if we are nice they will be in turn…taking the high road is getting a little old.

QUITE THE OPPOSITE!

They spew, which they think that they can do with impugnity, and we crack a book to see if what they spew can be countered, encouraging good people to act. We hang on ‘em like bulldogs, waiting for them to do something LEGALLY ACTIONABLE.

For my part, I think that much of what Comrade Cindy, Ramsey Clark, and a few racial and socialist moonbats have said rises — er, sorry, SINKS — to the level of sedition, lending aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war, that sort of thing. We need to stop worrying about what the lawyers say we can get away with in court — “You’ll never make those charges stick” — and begin taking ‘em to court where what they’ve said or done is actionable.

For one thing, it would throw the whole “fascist theocracy” rationale into a cocked hat when the system is used to get the guilty…many of whom have been rattling on for too long. For another, I’m sure that it would encourage Tony Butterfield’s buddies still in the field that they system they’ve given their futures to defend works as designed. For yet another, it’ll tell all those detractors overseas that we’re a nation of laws, not of the same panderers they are.

…and, finally, it’s exquisite revenge. Revenge should never be spur of the moment, done out of passion. As the Sicilians say, it’s a dish best served cold.

Don’t “take the high road” by any means. Where possible, every time possible, show them the consequences of their actions. Show them the limits of the little corner into which they’ve painted themselves.

We don’t try to be “above that sort of thing” with anti-war thugs like Mr. T-Shirt.

You have to get right down there with ‘em…this is a knife-fight, not a tea party. It’s just that you’re not there to take a poke at ‘em or threaten ‘em physically. The knives are words, logically arranged and iron-clad researched.

Violence, ill considered and emotional, makes martyrs. The Islamists — the anti-defense Left’s ally of the week in their campaign to “change” America — are “down” with martyrs. No…be there to take notes, gather evidence, find out how bankrupt they are so’s you can neutralize ‘em the way we neutralize folks within our borders: out-fact ‘em or jail ‘em.

You win this knife-fight by making the most sense.

That’s the country Mrs. Butterfield’s boy died for…not a nation of hot-heads who wear their hearts on their sleeves, their toes all tender and ready to be trod upon. This is a nation slow to anger — perhaps too slow — which respects dissent…up to a point. Once that point’s crossed, they don’t live in fear of being cold-cocked or even of having a cap busted on ‘em. The thing most precious to them is WINNING THE ARGUMENT. Sounds silly, but there it is.

They should fear losing…every time they open their mouths.

This SHOULD be a nation where folks like Mr. T-Shirt walks in fear of EVER being that stupid again because he knows that folks — co-workers, family, anyone he meets — know him to be a villain, and he’ll never live down his stupid utterances. He should be certain that, if they cross the legal line, he’ll be required to put up because he couldn’t shut up.

If someone pull a gun on you, pull a gun. It’s only smart. If you’re in an ACTUAL knife-fight, don’t dazzle ‘em with your rhetoric…pull a straight-razor. But, if they meet you with words, bury ‘em with better, more researched, more logical, more cogent and wittier words.

Let as many people as possible see this vid, and find more ammunition of this kind, and the Left will no longer be able to hide behind “dissent is patriotic” and “we support the troops enough to pull ‘em home”. They’ll be shown for what they are: folks who’d sooner cut their own throats than lift a single fingernail to defend their own homeland. They’ll be shown up as folks who WANT the ruin of the US…so’s they can build their own little textbook utopia on the smoking ruins.

Seconds into just about any discussion of concrete issues, folks on the Left go into circular arguments, lose their cool, and rely on a theoretical conventional “wisdom”…their arguments are facades of tissue paper. Let ‘em have it.
