Video: Peace scum heckles dead Marine’s mother

posted at 9:49 pm on October 26, 2006 by Allahpundit

One of the Freepers dug this up. It comes from KMPH in California. I clipped this part just to preserve it in case they take it offline, as often happens with affiliates.

This turd doesn’t represent all opponents of the war, of course. But he represents some. Regardless, what he says to her is actually less offensive than the fact that she’s left standing on the sidewalk while “Zionist”-baiting friend-of-Hugo Cindy Sheehan gets the rock star treatment inside the auditorium.

Lance Cpl. Tony Butterfield was killed on July 29th in Anbar. His obituary’s here. Quote: “Because Tony so loved Disneyland, we have decided he would have no greater joy than to send a child and their family there each year.”

He was 19 years old.

Update: Here’s the Peace Fresno press release hyping St. Cindy’s appearance at Fresno State.

Dropping dung on a dead man’s grave…That’s a good way to get your butt kicked where I live.

He should have gotten emergency surgery for a second pooper on the spot.

Pig.

Looks half in the bag too.

But let’s not judge him, because evidently one person’s hate speech is another person’s education….

That is disgusting. This is the liberal thinking process we want running this country? God help us.

God Bless you Lance Corporal Butterfield!

This puke is no better then the crowd inside. Lost for words here AP. As the father of an American soldier this clip really got under my hide.

From the peacefresno.org website – “Its(Peace Fresno) mission is to seek effective nonviolent responses to terrorism”. Holy load of bull batman!

The only thing missing from this video is one good sniper.

And that’s the truth. Scum like this truly blow my mind. And I guess people feel obligated to say that “of course” this man doesn’t represent all of the opponents of the war… but I really think he does. When you dig down deep into why people oppose the war, it must be because there is something wrong about it to them. If the war is wrong to them, then what our soldiers are doing is wrong to them. Therefore, opponents of the war cannot logically truly support the troops.

tiekitwist on October 26, 2006 at 10:10 PM

“we support the troops enough to bring them home”

i’m sorry. this is the majority of war opponents.

i saw this last september in d.c.. as the answer marchers passed the counter-protest, they taunted, “why don’t you sign up!” a couple dozen pulled out their ids and dogtags. another reached back, removed his prosthetic leg and held it up.

the answer crowd’s response?

“too bad you did get killed.” “sign up again.” and other variations on that.

jummy on October 26, 2006 at 10:10 PM

Mark my words, they will be spitting on soldiers soon.

They have worked mighty hard to cloak it, but it’s coming.

Sentiments like this guys are alot more common on the internet.

Now they’re bubbling to the surface.

EFG on October 26, 2006 at 10:11 PM

What happened to you Americans? If this was the 1940s, this news report would’ve been a snuff film.

20 bucks says that guy is on a sex offenders list somewhere.

The Ugly American on October 26, 2006 at 10:15 PM

jummy, yeah, I’ve seen and heard the same stuff you talked about too.

Another way it will go is that they will call a guy a chicken hawk. If he then says, well, I’m in the army, the turds will just say well, why aren’t you in Iraq? You are still just a chickenhawk.

And if the guy then sez I was in Iraq, well since the chicken hawk arguement can’t be used anymore, they just will call him a fascist and a warmonger.

You can’t win that arguement, because they use it in bad faith.

About the only thing to say is that the turds are “chickendoves”, because they don’t have the guts to go to Iraq as human shields for the insurgents.

Respect for nutbags like this is a one way street. I watched the full clip from KMPH and when I saw all those people buying Sheehan’s book I wondered how many of them offered Mrs Butterfield and much as a little comfort.

Limerick on October 26, 2006 at 10:18 PM

“Hey, hey, LBJ/How many kids did you kill today!?”

Remember that? I do.

All of the stuff — the stunts, the rhetoric, the attitudes, the self-righteousness — we saw during Vietnam sits in the background among some of those who oppose the war.

…take the use of dog-poop, for instance….

A friend of mine survived his time as an infantryman in Vietnam, returning alive but horrifically wounded. He was brought back to Massachusetts, I expect, so’s he could recuperate and get physical therapy near his family. Folks found their way over the fence at the air base near his home and snuck in, so’s they could threw dog-poop onto the returning soldiers. My friend was in a stretcher at the time.

…as an aside, my friend never completely recovered physiclally, although he was bright and peppy emotionally, always positive. He was on pain meds for the rest of his life, a “regular” at the local VA. He died from a reaction to a mix of his medications. He just looked up from addressing Christmas cards back in ’91, and saw the valkyrie come to take him home.

That sort of rot isn’t typical of the war opponents today, just as it wasn’t the norm back then. Some opponents would NEVER think to descend to the level of the sucker in the video clip. Some would think it, but not say it. Some other wish they’d've thought of it.

We haven’t heard folks today calling returning soldiers and marines “baby-killers” — so far as I know — and I haven’t seen mention of dog-poop as a welcoming gift yet, but I know that the notion is out there. That is because a lot of the folks who proclaimed before Afganistan and then before Iraq, and all during both since, that we were on our way to “another Vietnam”.

…and I figure that they should know. They seemed and still seem determined to ensure that this is exactly what happens.

…so, keep your eyes peeled.

Thank you Lance Cpl. Butterfield. You’re a true hero.

As for this “Peace Fresno” guy, I hope no one sheds a tear over his obituary. And feel free to delete this if you’d like AP, but fuck this guy! He truly reveals, however, the mind of the outspoken anti-war crowd. Most are against the war now because one, they’ve been led to believe Bush lied, etc. and two because the post-war has been tough. But those who lead the real anti-war charge are just like this guy, they can usually just control themselves a little better. But they all have there little outbursts from time to time. Hell, is this any worse than what Dick Durbin said about the Gitmo guards? What Kerry said about soldiers in Iraq? Etc.? Make no mistake, this piece of shit is no longer fringe, he’s the American left.

But Murtha,a member of congress, got very-very close to it. In fact I think he did pretty much make that claim on national TV about the soldiers at Haditha.

As for this guy. Well there are few people I would wish to be beaten to a bloody pulp. This guy is one of them. He sure has sodomy on his mind a lot. Perhaps he should go live in Iran. See how muc

CrazyFool on October 26, 2006 at 10:45 PM

The story here is the KMPH report.

Cindy Sheehan is old news. Period. The real story was the total misuse of free speech by this ass against the mother of a fallen soldier.

Take your anger out on KMPH for playing up Cindy’s story and not telling the story of this grieving mother and this demented man. Cindy’s story is the same everywhere…this womans story is not.

Sonofabitch. God that makes me mad–I honestly don’t know what I’d do if I was there, I really don’t. But I bet it would get me arrested. That bastard needs a thorough and comprehensive ass-kicking.

Sheehag, the enemy of everything her own son stood for, gets treated like a rock star, and this poor woman gets mocked. Both lost a son–one honors her son’s legacy, and one spits on it. Fucking liberals.

And for the record, some of what he said clearly falls under the definition of “fighting words”, and isn’t covered by the 1st Amendment.

Ambassador Vir Cotto: Can you and your associates arrange that for me, Mr. Morden?

God bless freedom of speech.

I can’t think of a better video to bring back some that may be swaying and considering the… “arguments” this shitbag attempts to present.

Amen.

When I first saw this and read the comments suggesting all that was needed was a semi-proficient sniper and a 7.62 round … I was nodding in agreement. And swearing loudly.

But you know what? I don’t what this guy shot. Or hung. I don’t want Cindy Sheehan’s head on a platter. And I have no interest in silencing this mindless unthinking fools.

I want one thing: publicity.

I want these people, the words they say and the things they do, to get the same publicity they would get if they were not liberal. I want the whole country to simply see the truth of what the Left stands for.

Is that really too much for me to ask?

Professor Blather on October 26, 2006 at 10:57 PM

What a scumbag. I hope this gets a lot of play. I’d say it’s pretty typical of the far left – do we really want them to be in any position to make decisions?

…allow me to opine, please…just a little vent….

I’m a bit uncomfortable with folks wishing this guy’s death or dismemberment. It’s understandable. If they’d've filmed the butt-whupping this sort of language often gives rise to, I’d be cheering at my screen. But, death? Snipers? It’s just venting, but forgive me….

The guy in the t-shirt was a jerk for what he said. It was evil. You don’t kill folks for speaking in my country, even if you REEEEEEALLY want to, even if it’s evil. If it sinks to the level of sedition, we jail ‘em, but we don’t kill ‘em.

This guy and his compadres are empowering Islamism, who want nothing more than a new and freshly-painted Caliphate, where folks CAN be killed for their utterances. It may one day happen there, but it doesn’t happen here.

We don’t want it to happen here…the guys who killed Ms. Butterfield’s son would do it, but that’s why Tony Butterfield was there in the first place.

I always find it ironic that people call Bush and the Repubicans ‘facists’ at a protest – even under police protection. Their very protest calls them liars.

CrazyFool on October 26, 2006 at 11:48 PM

Free speech, First Ammendment etc… Yeah, I’d be willing to die to preserve them and the other God Given rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights.

But there ARE plenty of valid laws against disturbing the peace and malicious mischief.

Why in the hellck are these laws not enforced against all these jerks that ‘protest’ at funerals and other occasions that are in esence supposed to be private?

I expect that kind of behavior from moonbats. There is no high road in this case, only a low-road. We don’t need to take it.

DaveS on October 27, 2006 at 12:13 AM

Professor Blather

Good point, people need to see what the American left has become. Again, this guy isn’t fringe (see my previous comment), he just had the balls to say outloud what the lefties try to keep quiet.

And GregH, I agree, I don’t think it’s right for people to call for violence, however I understand the immediate emotional response to this. That’s why I simply said I don’t think anyone would shed a tear over this guy’s obituary. That said, while the calls for violence against this guy, which are obviously not serious “calls” anyway, may be a bit much, I wouldn’t have a problem with one of these mothers slapping the shit out of him. Basically, I don’t think we’re in a position to do anything. But one of the mothers or fathers of a MAN or WOMAN (not “boy or girl” lefties) who bravely volunteered to serve the country, is fully justified in pounding this POS, not to mention any active duty member of the military. I’m all for rule of law, but in situations like this, I wouldn’t care if this guy got the shit smacked out of him for this by someone who he was personally attacking, given the specific subject matter, especially when his comments are based on lies made up by Seymour Hersh.

RightWinged on October 27, 2006 at 12:14 AM

EnochCain on October 27, 2006 at 12:14 AM

EFG,

being a chickenhawk, i always explain that it wasn’t the choice i made and point out that the chickenhawk argument is essentially fascist in the sense that it presumes that the ideal would be for a military elite to determine national policy.

the f’d up thing about this guy in the vid is that the reason he’s willing to go so far in front of a news camera is because his aim is to get someone to hit him. then that would be the story. the highest pitch of confrontation benefits him. this episode will never reach a national audience. if someone had struck him, the national affiliates would lead with it, and they would extrapolate it to all troop/mission supporters.

jummy on October 27, 2006 at 12:14 AM

SilverStar830 on October 27, 2006 at 12:29 AM

Yes, because if we are nice they will be in turn…taking the high road is getting a little old.

QUITE THE OPPOSITE!

They spew, which they think that they can do with impugnity, and we crack a book to see if what they spew can be countered, encouraging good people to act. We hang on ‘em like bulldogs, waiting for them to do something LEGALLY ACTIONABLE.

For my part, I think that much of what Comrade Cindy, Ramsey Clark, and a few racial and socialist moonbats have said rises — er, sorry, SINKS — to the level of sedition, lending aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war, that sort of thing. We need to stop worrying about what the lawyers say we can get away with in court — “You’ll never make those charges stick” — and begin taking ‘em to court where what they’ve said or done is actionable.

For one thing, it would throw the whole “fascist theocracy” rationale into a cocked hat when the system is used to get the guilty…many of whom have been rattling on for too long. For another, I’m sure that it would encourage Tony Butterfield’s buddies still in the field that they system they’ve given their futures to defend works as designed. For yet another, it’ll tell all those detractors overseas that we’re a nation of laws, not of the same panderers they are.

…and, finally, it’s exquisite revenge. Revenge should never be spur of the moment, done out of passion. As the Sicilians say, it’s a dish best served cold.

Don’t “take the high road” by any means. Where possible, every time possible, show them the consequences of their actions. Show them the limits of the little corner into which they’ve painted themselves.

Puritan1648 on October 27, 2006 at 12:34 AM

Starblazer on October 27, 2006 at 1:10 AM

(you blather and blather and talk and talk and, some time later, figure out what you wanted to say)

We don’t try to be “above that sort of thing” with anti-war thugs like Mr. T-Shirt.

You have to get right down there with ‘em…this is a knife-fight, not a tea party. It’s just that you’re not there to take a poke at ‘em or threaten ‘em physically. The knives are words, logically arranged and iron-clad researched.

Violence, ill considered and emotional, makes martyrs. The Islamists — the anti-defense Left’s ally of the week in their campaign to “change” America — are “down” with martyrs. No…be there to take notes, gather evidence, find out how bankrupt they are so’s you can neutralize ‘em the way we neutralize folks within our borders: out-fact ‘em or jail ‘em.

You win this knife-fight by making the most sense.

That’s the country Mrs. Butterfield’s boy died for…not a nation of hot-heads who wear their hearts on their sleeves, their toes all tender and ready to be trod upon. This is a nation slow to anger — perhaps too slow — which respects dissent…up to a point. Once that point’s crossed, they don’t live in fear of being cold-cocked or even of having a cap busted on ‘em. The thing most precious to them is WINNING THE ARGUMENT. Sounds silly, but there it is.

They should fear losing…every time they open their mouths.

This SHOULD be a nation where folks like Mr. T-Shirt walks in fear of EVER being that stupid again because he knows that folks — co-workers, family, anyone he meets — know him to be a villain, and he’ll never live down his stupid utterances. He should be certain that, if they cross the legal line, he’ll be required to put up because he couldn’t shut up.

If someone pull a gun on you, pull a gun. It’s only smart. If you’re in an ACTUAL knife-fight, don’t dazzle ‘em with your rhetoric…pull a straight-razor. But, if they meet you with words, bury ‘em with better, more researched, more logical, more cogent and wittier words.

Let as many people as possible see this vid, and find more ammunition of this kind, and the Left will no longer be able to hide behind “dissent is patriotic” and “we support the troops enough to pull ‘em home”. They’ll be shown for what they are: folks who’d sooner cut their own throats than lift a single fingernail to defend their own homeland. They’ll be shown up as folks who WANT the ruin of the US…so’s they can build their own little textbook utopia on the smoking ruins.

Seconds into just about any discussion of concrete issues, folks on the Left go into circular arguments, lose their cool, and rely on a theoretical conventional “wisdom”…their arguments are facades of tissue paper. Let ‘em have it.

If they do, they had better not do it in my presence.

Spitting on a person is an assault in my state and violates the criminal code. Any citizen may lawfully intervene to arrest the individual doing the spitting and/or cause the assault to cease, using whatever physical force necessary that an ordinary “reasonable man” would use to contain the infraction.

GregH, I know your comment was in response to someone else, and don’t know you personally so I can’t ascribe this guy’s views to you, but it’s not just one man. This guy, like it or not, represents the overwhelming view in your party.

Others note Murtha, but as I said earlier, how is what this guy said any different from Durbin’s comments on Gitmo guards and Kerry’s comments on soldiers in Iraq? I’m sure if I wanted to spend the time I could list many many more, but I don’t even need to in order to make my point.

RightWinged on October 27, 2006 at 1:57 AM

An army woman here was in uniform driving home when a family in a Kerry sticker covered SUV pulled up beside her and pelted her car with food and other waste. I have also heard many a protester accuse our troops of murder on a large scale, under orders (often orders from bush himself). this is not a “isolated” response to our troops by the leftnuts.

Gwillie on October 27, 2006 at 3:35 AM

GregH on October 26, 2006 at 11:58 PM

Moral relativism rears its ugly head again–sorry, Greg, but that maggot making a shameful and unprovoked attack on Mrs. Butterfield does not equate to us getting angry at him for that attack. That would be like saying that a criminal who shoots an innocent bystander is the equivalent of the police officer who shoots him in defense of that bystander. She did nothing to deserve the treatment she got from him, but his disgusting behavior towards her sure as hell earned a response. Now you could certainly argue that it’s not my place to judge or to punish him, and you can have all the issues you want with the fact that I’d like to put the bastard in traction. (I don’t claim that it’s right or noble, I’m just saying what might happen, right or wrong, if he pulled a stunt like that in front of me.) Those would all be legitimate arguments–but what isn’t a legitimate argument is that punishing the innocent is the same as punishing the guilty.

And to those of you who didn’t write stupid things in this thread, thank you for your eloquence. Many of you are definitely better people than I am. But frankly I don’t think I ever want to become such a saint that I don’t want to see an asshole like that “peace protester” get the beating he so richly deserves. That’s a personal flaw I’m pretty sure I can live with.

Rest in Peace, Lcpl Butterfield

It’s funny on so many levels.

Coronagold on October 27, 2006 at 5:52 AM

OK..I made the good sniper comment, do I really want this man sniped…no but, I also would never, never, never say to this mans MOTHER what he said in this video. That is hate speech…relisten to it, it’s replusive!

ekuspa40 on October 27, 2006 at 6:08 AM

I wonder what John Wayne would do to a bed wetter like that?

Loved the quote from Babylon 5 too.

Zorro on October 27, 2006 at 6:53 AM

But DON”T question his patriotiam.

EEprom on October 27, 2006 at 7:06 AM

patriotism!

EEprom on October 27, 2006 at 7:07 AM

Can I ask a favor of you good folks?

If something like this happens in MY neighborhood, can I count on some of you to post bail for me?

irishsquid on October 27, 2006 at 9:17 AM

That’s the real Left on display, when they drop the “We’re patriotic too” pretense.

Coyote D. on October 27, 2006 at 9:30 AM

If you want to try to picture what it would be like to deal with this level of nonsense every day consider that Fresno State was where Victor Davis Hanson taught for years. He has incredible patience and wisdom. Imagine someone of his intellect dealing with this sort of nonsense in classes.

mkstach on October 27, 2006 at 9:40 AM

Lance Cpl. Tony Butterfield rest in peace my brother.

The name and address of this maggot would be nice.

Viper1 on October 27, 2006 at 9:54 AM

irishsquid, I’ll not only post bail, but I’ll also contribute to your defense fund. Promise to do the same for me?

Did this guy ever serve? I’d wager he didn’t. I spent time in the Air Force, my two oldest sons were in the Army (one Guard, one Reserves) and my youngest (16) is talking about going into the Navy. I’ve tried to teach them that the best thing you can do for your country is to serve in the armed forces; even if it’s only for one hitch. And to think THIS jerk is one of the ones who benefited from Cpl Butterfields’ sacrifice.

God Bless Cpl Tony Butterfield and his family and friends.

dalewalt on October 27, 2006 at 9:55 AM

The only thing missing from this video is one good sniper.

that pretty much sums it up.

pullingmyhairout on October 27, 2006 at 10:28 AM

The scumbag actually said “… they were out there sodomising children in front of …” I’m not sure what came after that, maybe it was “their parents”.

Someone needs to point out to these scumbags that this is what the Islamists do on a regular basis, in the comfort of their own homes and that the child victims are then murdered. See the description by Wafa Sultan of the young palestinian girl who was murdered by her mother after being raped by her two brothers. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?apage=1&cid=1159193523009&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

Fox and Friends showed the results of a poll they took and the question was “Would you encourage a family member or acquaitance to enlist in the military?” The results when broken down by Republican/Democrat wound up being almost mirror images
Repubs: 68% Yes
Dems: 67% No
If I recall correctly. To which I have this to say. If you have nothing you are willing to die for, then you have nothing worth living for. That is a paraphrase of something I heard awhile back so I can’t total credit for that quote but it is very true.

LakeRuins on October 27, 2006 at 11:17 AM

The whole difference here is that Lance Corporal Butterfield is a National Hero, deserving all United States citizens admiration and respect, and whose mother has every right to mourn and be proud of…while on the other hand, the piece of rotting human debris depicted in the video is a coward and a seditious traitor, deserving of all United States citizens disdain and loathing.

Thank God for real American patriots, and may God protect us from the Godless America hating portion of humanity that makes up most of the rest of the world, along with the liberally minded seditious democrats among us.

Had this maggot-infested low-life said that to me, I would be in jail, awaiting trial for assault with intent to kill.

Dave R. on October 27, 2006 at 12:50 PM

You could make a “love your neighbor as yourself” argument for beating this man. You’d be loving the mom of the dead Marine by protecting her from the abuse of that idiot. You’d be loving the peacenik by giving him what he deserves.

PRCalDude on October 27, 2006 at 1:14 PM

actually Puritan, there was a story out of Seattle awhile ago & i believe it was either on “Hannity & Colmes” or The O’Reilly Factor” that a solider was in fact called a “baby-killer” and was beaten up by a bunch of people.

I love to seeing a Richard Cranium like this guy make an ass of themselves. Nothing like unsubstantiated accusations to support your “opinion”. Good job on achieving your goal of looking like a dumbass.

Irishsquid I’d help bail you out & than I’d buy you lunch!

ekuspa40 on October 27, 2006 at 2:54 PM

Even deaf people do this as well. One was vicious and mocked the death of my cousin, Major Gregory Stone who was murdered by Sgt. Akbar when he threw a couple of grenades into a tent full of sleeping soldiers in Kuwait days before the start of the Iraq war. Two officers were killed, one of them, was my cousin.

When a deaf person goes too far..

“” …second, to make fun of his dead, mangled cousin who is rotting six feet under the cold ground.”

My condolences to the Marine’s family.

Yes, loonies all around us.

accdat on October 27, 2006 at 4:48 PM

I am forced to deal with people like this in “real-time” situations similar to this. I have found ridicule to be most effective when responding to these creatures…especially when you discuss the target with your confederate as if it was a nonsentient/inanimate object…they have a tendadancy to get very angry…and that is a good thing ;) …

dcs2244 on October 27, 2006 at 5:29 PM

The left and their “chosen” media darlings don’t understand one fundamental principal. The people they ridicule, spit on, dishonor and defile are the same ones who are fighting the very people who would, if given the chance, kill them if they ridiculed, spit on, dishonored or defiled their religion. Remember this Rosie O’Airbags, more people have died in Ted Kennedy’s car than from any of the many guns I have in my home.
