If the Democrats fail to win any majority, you won’t find liberals abandoning the United States. Leaving this country to be run by the neocons would be like leaving a retarded kid alone with a loaded gun.

"Would you still be laughing when your head is pressed against the floor five times a day, Mr. Cutnrun?"
"I have no idea what this means, except perhaps you might have anger issues."

Not by me, ace. I was referring to Muslim prayer, Constantine. I know, I know, religion isn't your shtick. Well, if you do move to France it will be. (Then you'd be staying where 99% of the people agree with you.) Yes, soon once again there will be prayer in Europe. Imagine all those post-modern, auto-alienated, multi-culti, effete Frenchies praying five times a day. Eet ees to laugh. Perhaps praying in crowded situations will lead them to shower more frequently. Perhaps this will be the only reason to feel good about Eurabia.

The Left and the Right stand to learn much from this article, if they calmly and carefully digest it. Camille Paglia tells her party the bitter truth. Alas, do they listen and internalize?

Staying the course by the President always meant not leaving before the job was finished. Staying the course by the Dems always meant not changing a single thing you are doing, not changing tactics in response to changing conditions, for example, which is why the Dems always said, “Bush has no plan.” They meant he had no strategy, and no flexible tactics to implement that strategy. So President Bush meant he was never about staying the course *as Dems define it*–he was saying this in the context of revealing a change of strategy, remember–of working to create benchmarks with the Iraqi military, etc. As *he* defines staying the course–he’s still doing it, thank G-d.

Absolutely on target, smellthecoffee! Unlike the Democrats, President Bush actually possesses a backbone, and doesn't just surrender at the first sign of trouble. Men like Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman would be disgusted at what a bunch of chickensh-ts their party has become. I swear, along with the jackass, the symbol of the Democratic Party should be the weather vane.

Democrats don't get to redefine "stay the course" to mean whatever they want it to mean, not when there's already an existing definition out there. (Any more than they get to redefine marriage to encompass any random grouping of animals, vegetables, or minerals.) "Stay the course" means to "hold or persevere to the end". (Thank you, answers.com.) Now I realize that the whole concept of perseverance is a tough one for the party of flipfloppers like John Kerry, but even Democrats should be able to figure out that no one ever won a war by surrendering. "Surrender NOW!" isn't a plan either, or at least not a plan for victory.

They won't "take to the streets", they'll be too busy bellowing about the "fraudulent voting machines" (I've seen the myriad of articles already in the MSM) and claiming the elections were "stolen" again...

Hmmm, anyone curious how many stories we'd see concerning "fraud" if the Dems won????

Let's see now...

Constantine, answer the question:

On, “Der Tag” [thanks, Entelechy] — the day after the election — when you find out that you lost and the Republicans are still in power, are you gonna take to the streets, too, boyo?

I'll be quietly celebrating a Democratic majority in one or both houses. My offer still stands to place a wager on that, but obviously you're reluctant to put up or shut up.

Just curious….

Oh, and if you need a ride to the airport because you're moving to France, just post it here and we'll (NO DOUBT!!) find lots of volunteers to drive you.

Just like he never said Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

Please cite the speech/time/place when Bush linked Iraq directly to the attacks on 9/11.

And no, thanks, I’ll stay here where roughly 64% of Americans agree with me.

Amazing how libs always use polls as a crutch to support their positions, while conveniently overlooking the reality of the situation. Polls taken by them, for them. It's like a warm cuddly blanket giving momentary comfort.

....... DATELINE Nov 2004 ..... Exit polls declare Kerry winner in landslide victory ..... Oh, wait ..... Nevermind.

Of course! The President redefines what he's been saying all along, and it's all good. Just like he never said Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

Would you still be laughing when your head is pressed against the floor five times a day, Mr. Cutnrun?
I have no idea what this means, except perhaps you might have anger issues.

Hey Constantine, what's with the "If"? I thought the Dems had a lock on taking over both houses. Losing faith are we?

Here's an update for you. Conservatives have been running the country for the last six years. So where's the evidence it's like leaving you alone with a loaded gun?

"I suppose in your mind interrupting the interviewer = winning the argument." No, interrupting the interviewee means interviewing by Chris Matthews, and most lefty interviewers. Siegel just had the sense to shut up and listen.

So President Bush meant he was never about staying the course *as Dems define it*--he was saying this in the context of revealing a change of strategy, remember--of working to create benchmarks with the Iraqi military, etc. As *he* defines staying the course--he's still doing it, thank G-d.

"Funny stuff." Yeah, ha ha. Would you still be laughing when your head is pressed against the floor five times a day, Mr. Cutnrun? Go to Eurabia where they all agree with you.

I can only imagine the gnashing of teeth and tearing of hair that was taking place in Saabs and Volvos across coastal America as these were being aired.

Thanks for the link... that is entertaining, especially when Turd Blossom stammers when asked how close we are to winning in Iraq. You can almost smell the smoke as his memory banks strain for an answer, finally offering nothing more than irrelevant references to WWII and the Cold War.

Stereotype much?

Nothing wrong with interrupting a cheap tactic just to hear the smarmy reporter blubber. The old 'ive seen or heard sources that suggest or say blah blah blah' routine has gone way past it's espiration date, manager's special, and into the dumpster where it belongs.

The fact that Rove has emerged from under his rock to speak in person is an indication of White House panic...

Constantine on October 26, 2006 at 2:41 PM

Au contraire, the WH, Messrs Bush and Rove in particular, don't look/act panicked at all. I see much panic on the HuffPo, about these gents not being panicked. It is pretty amusing, especially for someone who thrives on political psychology.

Nov. 7th, late and Nov. 8th, 2006 will be one of the most interesting dates in our political history.

I must correct myself; the story is up on NPR.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6376549
So, yes it's up, and no, Siegel didn't do any better before the beginning of the Hotair clip than after. There are a couple of different audio clips on this page to savor. I can only imagine the gnashing of teeth and tearing of hair that was taking place in Saabs and Volvos across coastal America as these were being aired.

It *was* kind, I would say even merciful. Did you imagine, Constantine, that in what came before Siegel’s IQ was magically 40 points higher, and Rove’s 40 points lower? I was so enjoying the floor-mopping job Rove was doing with Siegel in this sadly short clip

You have a rather creative interpretation of the exchange; I suppose in your mind interrupting the interviewer = winning the argument. Rove did, in fact, mention nothing but the WoT before Siegel made the comment. The fact that Rove has emerged from under his rock to speak in person is an indication of White House panic. That, and the fact that the President is Iraqbacktracking... "No, wait, we were never about staying the course! where did you get that idea?" Funny stuff.

If gay marriage passes and Al Gore and Gore Vidal got married, they’d become Al Vidal and Gore Gore. Just something to think about. VOTE OR DIE or whatever!!!!

And then when polygamy passes, they can add Jamie "Whatever you do, don't let the FBI and the CIA talk to each other" Gorelick.

Well that sucks. What happened to the rest of my post?

Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that their "threatening to take to the streets" if they lose is just like their muslim counterparts in France.

However, it’s gotten to the point where some on the other side of the aisle are so sure of their electoral victory to come, they’re threatening to “take to the streets” if they lose.

"Kind of you to omit everything Rove said previous to that… which is what Siegel was responding to."

It *was* kind, I would say even merciful. Did you imagine, Constantine, that in what came before Siegel's IQ was magically 40 points higher, and Rove's 40 points lower? I was so enjoying the floor-mopping job Rove was doing with Siegel in this sadly short clip, that I was on the verge of nipping over the NPR website to see if I could find the audio of the interview, and enjoy rest of the mop-job, which would doubtless be followed by the buffing, and polishing of Siegel's lameness by Rove's superior knowledge and argumentation skills. I was only stopped (so far) by the fact that I can't imagine NPR would leave something like that up for all to hear, any more than Youtube would leave a Michelle Malkin video-blog segment up on their site. But now that you brought it up. . .

If the Democrats fail to win any majority, you won't find liberals abandoning the United States. Leaving this country to be run by the neocons would be like leaving a retarded kid alone with a loaded gun.

They're vowing to 'take it to the streets' if they don't win? Isn't that pretty similar to the vows they made in 2004 to move out of the country if Bush took the White House? They're still HERE aren't they? Talk about deranged..... Hey people - Venezuela might appeal to you.

In any case, my compiments to all above posters. I have learned so much from you since finding this site. Serious knowledge and entertainment at the same time. You can't beat that combo!
