No, of course not. Islamic terrorists don’t operate south of the border. That’s just a ruse concocted by Republicans to keep the fictitious jihad threat in vogue while justifying stronger border enforcement.

Because you know how serious Republicans are about border enforcement.

The man’s name is Michael McCaul and he’s the head of the Subcommittee on Investigations of the House Homeland Security Committee. Clint Taylor has been after me all day to link to his report and encourage people to read the section on terrorist infiltration that runs from numbered pages 27-32. Clint, as you’ll recall, is our resident expert on Hezbollah’s efforts in Venezuela. Looks like he’s on to something: the McCaul report notes that members of Hezbollah have already been caught at the border.

As for the Venezuelan connection, I’ll let McCaul explain that himself. Click the image below and watch the video in the sidebar. Ahmadinejad’s boyfriend seems like a harmless buffoon right now, but if some jihadi ends up here with papers from Caracas and self-detonates in a shopping mall, the geopolitical game is going to change very quickly.

When you’re done with the CBS video, watch this too. Six minutes, but worth it.
