Video: Wallstrip
posted at 8:19 pm on October 23, 2006 by Allahpundit
Ace wondered a few weeks ago whether vlogging would become the exclusive province of attractive women. Doubtful. Robert Spencer’s “Jihad Watch” clips are doing well for us and Goldstein’s first CJR is among our most viewed episodes. Beyond the political realm, Ze Frank and Diggnation have big, big audiences. So no, a female host is not a prerequisite.
But it probably does help.
Enter Wallstrip. We haven’t covered the market here at all — although perhaps we should start — but surely some of you follow it. Consider this little bookmark alert our way of atoning.
Their topic couldn’t be timelier, either.

Google should buy Microsoft next. AND MAKE CERTAIN that Steve Balmer gets a heavy dose of Valium.
CyberCipher on October 23, 2006 at 8:27 PM
Yeah, all you say is true Allah. But Lindsey is still hot.
Valiant on October 23, 2006 at 8:40 PM
Balmer is whacked (you can be that whacked when you’re that rich). If a regular guy acted like that they’d put you in an asylum under constant observation.

HEY, NOW!
Kid from Brooklyn on October 23, 2006 at 8:46 PM
Am I the only one who expected something different from wall “strip” ?
lorien1973 on October 23, 2006 at 8:48 PM
Be nice…
Allahpundit on October 23, 2006 at 8:49 PM
Nice Allah. But, Bethany has nothing to worry about though.
BacaDog on October 23, 2006 at 8:58 PM
Maybe, but I can’t have been the only one to laugh uproariously when they called the merger ‘Goo-Tube.’
James on October 23, 2006 at 9:12 PM
That’s not what I expected either. I’ll stick with Hot Air.
Zorro on October 23, 2006 at 9:19 PM
HaHaHaHa…too funny! But who’s going to get “goo-tubed” when all this is over?
thedecider on October 23, 2006 at 9:20 PM
I like Wallstrip’s vibe a lot. Great entrepreneurial spirit, terrific production value, neat host. The man-on-the-street interviews are fun. They really are making the most of the medium.
The more the merrier: That’s my vlogo-sophy!
Michelle on October 23, 2006 at 9:23 PM
Ok..so far we have two. Who’ll be the next one?
Kokonut on October 23, 2006 at 9:39 PM
By the way, what editing tools does Bethnay or Wallstrip use? Can anybody share some insights or links? Thanks in advance.
I can see this thing coming down a mile away with the wanna-be-news-reporter vlogging that would put Cooper Anderson to shame. Well, he certainly doesn’t have that same womanly appeal.
Kokonut on October 23, 2006 at 9:44 PM
Institute a Google-wide 2nd-Monday-of-every-month outreach.
Call it:
Go Out And Find Someone Who Knows Someone Who Voted For A Republican Not Named Schwarzenegger Or McCain Day.
To make this work Google will have to pick up travel and lodging expenses.

While I like Google Earth and YouTube, I really don’t like their search engine. I guess I’ve just mastered searching with Yahoo! or something, but 99 times out of 100 that’s where I go to do my searching.
More importantly I’d like to see that chick throw that laptop in the trash. I can’t stand Apple. I always here how great it is, but I’ve recently had a bit of experience and can’t stand it. My aunt’s own a franchise store in our mall and I go help them do a couple odd jobs a couple hours a week and everything done in this franchise is all Apple. I can’t stand the stupid mouse that doesn’t have use buttons, but instead “clicks” by applying pressure which I do by mistake constantly. I don’t like not being able to right click, I don’t like that the “del” button doesn’t delete like it should. etc. etc.

Hey!
I think I have noticed a trend here! I am a genius! There is a trend!
I will let you all in on how smart I am! For a limited time only, here it is:
Cute girls sell.
That’s it! Cute girls sell. No one has ever figured this out before! I am a genius!
shermacman on October 23, 2006 at 10:39 PM
um, yeah she’s pretty. and she’s talking about stocks which is hella boring, so i guess it kinda balances out.
i still think MKH is the hottest. am i the only one?

“GooTube“? (Yeccch!)
Sounds like a REALLY bad porno site.
Nice eyecandy, though.
Checking out the “similar domain names” phenom of cyber-squatters, the only thing left like “YouTube.com” (“Utube.com“‘s pipe manufacturing supply domain owner has been offered big bucks to sell it to Google) is “Hewtube.com” in case anyone wants to gamble on such “.com” arcana. (Even “HughTube.com” and “YewTube.com” were taken… the latter either for the illiterate, or the gardening-expose videos crowd? The former, I can’t even image its use.)
(I did register one domain name, just to be cute, after reading “GooTube”, and in reply to Google’s and YouTube’s pro-jihadist censorship program. I won’t promote it here, since that would be crass… but it’s related to being screwed, tubally, by this online giant’s Bawdlerizing ideas.)
Meanwhile…
Thank Allah for Hot Air!
And Michelle Malkin still rules!
profitsbeard on October 23, 2006 at 10:49 PM
GooTube.
I wonder how Crest feels about that.
Coronagold on October 23, 2006 at 11:26 PM
I’m a broker now, and Lindsey is my Ramadamadingdong present from Allah. Wallstrip going on the faves list. Thanks, Allah!
(Still digging MKH, but Bethany’s been knocked down to #3 or 4).
JollyRoger on October 23, 2006 at 11:29 PM
At least it wasn’t named TubeGoo. I think that’s the French version.
Kokonut on October 24, 2006 at 12:55 AM
profitsbeard, you missed one available “tube” that would be real popular with the moonbats, MSM, and all the appeasers living in dhimmitude:
DhimmiTube.com
CNN would surely use it as a valid source for their “news“.
I’ll stick with HotAir.
/and this is my first post, so a warm welcome to, um, me.
Im_no_dhimmi on October 24, 2006 at 1:03 AM
realVerse uses Final Cut Pro to edit our vids.
Wallstrip looked good. It shows what you can do with a budget. realVerse is grassrooots media.
Translation: Amateur vloggers with no budget.
realVerse on October 24, 2006 at 1:10 AM
I too was dissapointed.
I’ve always been impressed with realVerse’s production value. It looks great!
profitsbeard, speculationg domains is bloody addictive. I had to make myself stop. I still think [deleted; looked like an ad] is fantastic, and I still have nothing to do with it :)
I don’t really think this one is for me. Go Apple, boo Microsoft, go Google, go “digg!” go Web 2.0 … all a bit techno-yuppy. But it was smart and well done, and I hope they make billions.

Wow; what a dolly.
Jaibones on October 24, 2006 at 2:29 AM
Not bad, but I’d rather have my market news served with a heaping helping of Erin Burnett. Mrrrrowww!
Lazarus on October 24, 2006 at 3:26 AM
This woman is great! Much better than Bethany, if you ask me.
max on October 24, 2006 at 5:31 AM
Wow, Flash Player 9 has a really crisp picture.
Oh, and look! She has a face!
Coronagold on October 24, 2006 at 6:51 AM
Allah and MM, I have a suggestion for a new site rule: Limit all comments on the topic of “OMG is soooo hot!!!!” to one per thread — two tops. I come here for politics, not a beauty contest. I’d even go out of my way to watch a v-blog by Camille Paglia, even though she looks pretty much as you’d expect a 50-something lesbian feminist to look like.
“I’m only 41, I still have my virility
And I can romp through Cupid’s groves with great agility
But life is more than sexual combustibility!”

Hopefully, one day Hotair.com will be worth a dozen Googles : )
Halley on October 24, 2006 at 7:56 AM
I wish they, and others would use Media player as I continue to experience difficulties with that @#$! Macromedia flash player.
DannoJyd on October 24, 2006 at 8:34 AM
Yea, yea… Wallstrip… False advertising.
Gootube… What if Hot Air and Wallstrip merged? And became an affiliate of Fox?
Mazztek on October 24, 2006 at 11:01 AM
I am running XP, Ubuntu, Vista (beta) and Mac os X. Forget it–there’s no comparison. Everything equal, my Mac blows away my pc and laptop. BTW–I am running Vista ON my mac! HA!
My mac “just works”. No freakin’ norton or mcafee to deal with. No idiotic dll’s and crappy XP driver headaches. I’ve used pc’s for a VERY long time. Forget ‘em, they’re a pain in the patookis. I’ll stick with my iMac, thank you very much.

She reminds me of Janine Turner. Something about the eyes.
mikeyboss on October 24, 2006 at 7:40 PM
Very good find. Even though I ususally find high finance boreing.
Though I have to admit that when I read the title, I at first thought “Oh, NakedNews has a stock report” but then realized that this is HotAir and such wouldn’t be the case.
