That depends on how quickly they purge some of that bad money. Sheffield’s gone, as is Jaret Wright. Mike Mussina might come back for less money (10MM). Giambi’s got two years left, and the Unit is in his final year (maybe he retires, depending on how his back surgery goes). If the pitching staff can be rebuilt around Wang (this is where an A-Rod deal to Anaheim makes the most sense, for Ervin Santana, Brandon Wood and a blue chipper to be named later-no cash changes hands). They definitely need to win the bidding for Daisuke Matsuzaka. Give me a rotation of Matsuzaka, Wang, Mussina, Santana, and Johnson; without blowing out the middle relievers, and a healthy Mariano, and I will guaran-damn-tee a ring before 2008.

Let me get back to topic before I get the rip-ass from the Met Lover.

But I DO! They are in different leagues–SEC and ACC. And when they play each other, I root for UT (Univ of Tenn!):)

I’m not really mourning the Mets. I’m a Yankeesta, and in New York, baseball is a zero-sum game. It’d be like rooting for both Tech and the Dawgs.
