Chubby media whore to start her own party

Their platform calls for less guns and more butter. And lots, lots more ice cream:

Frank: I’ve heard a rumor that you may be looking to start your own third party. Is that true?

Sheehan: Yes, it is true. I think that to save our democracy our country needs a viable and credible third party. This nation was founded on rule by a few rich white males, and for all intents and purposes, we are still ruled by a corporate elite.

We need a third party that will represent all the people, not just the wealthy.

Socialism, in other words. A bold new direction for third parties.

Via Florida Cracker, who wonders why The Man, being The Man, had such a tough go of it in the revolution.

Update: Are people not making the connection between “chubby” and that absurd diet St. Cindy was on? It was a running joke here for months, not to mention the subject of our most popular Vent ever.

Socialism, in other words. A bold new direction for third parties

Isn’t it time we had a party like this as an option? Instead of the two-headed hydra that we currently employ, it would be a breath of fresh air if we had a political party that actually spoke to, and for, the people.

Don’t know if Ms. Sheehan’s to-be-formed party will fit that bill, but I applaud her trying.

GregH on October 23, 2006 at 10:07 AM

I think that the PDA endorses candidates based on their entire platforms. Of course, I only care about candidate’s record on the war and what they say about peace. I prefer to call our movement a “peace” movement, because “antiwar” is too narrow.

Uhh, Cindy, y’all look more like a bowel movement

CP on October 23, 2006 at 10:09 AM

I think KP has better chance of retaking the Dems from the likes of Howard Dean.

At least KP makes rational sense.

Maybe Mother S can take KOS, Dean, Kerry, et all to the party of Mother Moonbat, and leave KP in charge of the Dems.

At least then we would have a two party system. The Republicans, the Democrats, and party of opposition.

E L Frederick on October 23, 2006 at 10:13 AM

The only thing worse than being a Chubby Media Whore is being a Link Whore.

Only for a while. Eventually, they’ll realize that the fragmentation prevents them from winning any elections, and they’ll reunite, forming the assbats.

Cindy Sheehan: ‘Un-oh, in two years Herr Bush will be out of office. How can I stay in the press, how can I stay in the press, how can I stay in the press? I’ve got it….I’ll start a new party, then they’ll have to write more stories about MEEEEEEEEEEEE.’

Mallard T. Drake on October 23, 2006 at 10:23 AM

Awesome, maybe she’ll take votes away from the Green Party.

Enrique on October 23, 2006 at 10:23 AM

“Strum und drang” ? Is that a pun I’m missing, or are *all* the networks in dire need of copy editors?

Anwyn on October 23, 2006 at 10:26 AM

So what if she does start a third party? It’ll just suck votes away from the Deomocraps. Hurrah for Sheehan, another right-wing ally……gotta love it.

P. James Moriarty on October 23, 2006 at 10:26 AM

I think that to save our democracy our country needs a viable and credible third party.

I’m somewhat horrified to see that I agree with Ms. Sheehan on anything. Fortunately we seem to only agree on the need for a viable third party. I just think the system would work better for the voter if the two parties we have now weren’t able to play off each other quite so much.

Forming a political party is anti-American? You don’t really believe that, do you? Or was this just an attempt to take an easy (though factually incorrect) shot at the dissenter?

GregH on October 23, 2006 at 10:35 AM

Well this would actually make a 121st party. There is already the Greens, the Libertarians, the Constitutional party and on and on. She probably has to form her own party because nobody would let her join theirs, even the Communist Party!

LakeRuins on October 23, 2006 at 10:36 AM

Don’t know if Ms. Sheehan’s to-be-formed party will fit that bill, but I applaud her trying.

Of course you do GregH.

Does anyone still pay attention to that twisted witch, Cindy Shill-han?

JackM on October 23, 2006 at 10:44 AM

she is the epitome of patheticism. Of all the parties she just cant find one to team up with.(Thats because she needs o0ne that revolves around her) She is the neutered left wing Ross Perot of our time. It seems the left is ripe for some serious splintering.

DarianCounts on October 23, 2006 at 10:45 AM

I just think the system would work better for the voter if the two parties we have now weren’t able to play off each other quite so much.

The number of parties isn’t the issue; it’s whether the voters allow the party leaders to play off of each other. If we had three strong parties, they’d still play off of one another.

The problem with Mother Sheehan trying to form a new party is that it’d be a party with only ONE GOAL; the downfall of President Bush.

dalewalt on October 23, 2006 at 10:46 AM

Cindy Sheehan:Republicans as Foley:Democrats. Gifts that keep on giving. Talk about beating a dead horse (s).

honora on October 23, 2006 at 10:48 AM

our country needs a viable and credible third party

I think the keyword there is “credible”. It’s not like there aren’t any third parties out there already

vcferlita on October 23, 2006 at 10:48 AM

A majority if not all of her supporters are Democrat. Many will vote for her party, basically dividing the votes between the Democrats and Sheehans, giving neither party enough votes to win. I like the idea of their party having a moonbat as a mascot.

americanpundit on October 23, 2006 at 10:52 AM

I think that forming a political party is definitely an American value. I applaud anyone who can successfully form a political party based on an ideology that people can get behind.

If I didn’t feel that way, I sure wouldn’t be backhandedly advocating the common sense left taking the Dem party back from the extremist KOS types. IMO we have been seeing the death of the two party system.

It’s no longer two parties of thought and debate, but the party in power, and party of dissent. It’s a sad thing. Neither party, Republican nor Dem, has truly earned a win this election.

However, I vote with the group I agree with 75% of the time, instead of the one I can’t get behind because of their lack of a plan.

A person does what they believe in, and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Cindy is definitely anti-American… so the fruit of her political party would be the same.

You know what is really a breath of fresh air? When people say things that mean something, instead of mindlessly repeating pinheaded platitudes.

This woman hasn’t got a clue. She really needs to educate herself on just who runs the country. Most may be white males, but the vast majority are of a particular persuasion that did not exist on this continent during the times of our founding fathers. Our founding fathers were European white males. Those of you who have done your reasearch know exactly of whom I speak.

Go online or to your local library and find out just who owns 95% of the newpapers, ABC,NBC,CBS,FOX, and 95% of popular magazines. Then find a common denominator. Then you too will know just who runs this country along with 100% of the International banking world wide. These are the puppet masters who make all politicians dance.

In case you hadn’t noticed, there are already six parties on the ballot. I have no problem with the formation of another one, but I doubt you would applaud the formation of a new Conservative Party, except maybe to take votes away from the GOP. Sheehag’s politics are clearly anti-American, as would be her new ‘party’.

“Sheehan states: So far I have supported three who ended up losing in the primaries”

Even when she finds out that nearly no one thinks as she does, she keeps on going as if it’s a real possibility. She has turned her grief into a delusional obsession, and its killing her from with-in. Look at her, see what a couple years of hate does to a person? She’s all about HATE, but she twists it into thinking she’s about peace. As many of us know, we attract what we are inside, and she is attracting more haters and delusional thinkers so together, they really think they are on to something. Godless is what she is, and pitiful.

shooter on October 23, 2006 at 11:20 AM

I think she’s confused. On one hand she wants to create a viable third party in a thriving democracy, and on the other, white males and Pres Bush are terrorist/dictators, ruining the world one barrell of oil at a time.

budorob on October 23, 2006 at 11:20 AM

Ms. Sheehan stopped being a “war widow” after about her fourth appearance in public.

She is now rightly viewed as an anti-war activist. Media whore is not an inaccurate description given the way the media and others use her existance and “message” to further their own agenda.

She is welcome to form her own political party. Suggesting it is a “third” party is amusingly stupid. I wonder how the American Constitution Party, the Green Party, or the Libertarian Party would feel about that, given that they are all identified as “third” parties themselves. (with enough strength to have earned ballot status for Presidential candidates) I’m sure they would all have a grand laugh.

And could someone please tell me what Ms. Sheehan stands for that isn’t already part of the current Democrat platform?

E L Frederick, nice shot.

Picking nits here… but unless Sheehan was married to her son Casey, she never as a “war widow”.

I know, I know… I’m getting technical here…

I guess the correct term would be “grieving war mother”, but that’s just me picking nits.

Dollydog, peddle your hate elsewhere. The ethnicity of corporate leaders might have influence, however small, in how the country is run, IF they were working, as you imply, in a controlled conspiracy to undermine everything American for their own greedy purposes.

Also, be advised that your credibility is destroyed in such a set of statements the moment one statement is obviously false. Check out Hong Kong’s banking systems, many of which have been international now for over two decades, and your 100% figure is invalid. That’s without mentioning Switzerland, Germany, etc.

She looks chubby on TV, but in real life she’s pretty tall and doesn’t look chubby at all.

In fact, she had nice cloths (other than the Peace JAcket) and a expensive haircut–She wouldn’t be too bad looking for an older woman if she didn’t have that good awful face. Her face reminds me of a baboon’s ass.

I suggest the part be called the Whigged Out Party.

Third parties do have the effect of reforming, or at least affecting the platforms of the Dems and GOP, but Perot’s (’member him?) campaigns only led to two terms of Bubba.

Socialism is the opiate of the feeble minded. There are so many that would cast us all into the malaise of socialism, or worse, in an attempt to satisfy their misguided embitterdness at the world. Talking with any proponent of collectivism always reveals their disdain of life in general, despite their attempt to paint their stance as benevolent.

All capitalism haters – remember that everyone suffers in your “worker’s paradises,” not only the “fat cats” in whom you feel justified bringing down. Classic “misery loves company.” Remove the profit motive and any place goes straight to hell in a handbasket.

In a collectivist society, “the state” means: Everyone but you.

ALSO – “chubby media whore?” c’mon now, play nice. I’m as perturbed as anyone at her hypocrisy and childish chiding of Bush, et al, but I gotta say you’re a little over-the-top with that headline, no matter how apt the analogy.

“This nation was founded on rule by a few rich white males, and for all intents and purposes, we are still ruled by a corporate elite.”
Good. Now shut up and fix me some biscuits, woman.

it would be a breath of fresh air if we had a political party that actually spoke to, and for, the people

.

What people are you referring to?

Rick on October 23, 2006 at 12:45 PM

Isn’t it time we had a party like this as an option?

I agree, but I want that said ‘third party’ to be relatively near the center… not bat-shit crazy left.

Although a party just for the radical left would be great as it would separate the democratic party from the nutcases that form much of it’s base.

I’d like to end with the statement that I hate cindy sheehan with a passion. She truely is the devil. As a military officer she offends me daily. I have told my parents that if I die overseas and they tarnish my memory by doing anything remotely like what she’s doing I would come back from the grave to bitch slap them silly.

BadBrad on October 23, 2006 at 12:47 PM

Sturm und Drang” is too complex and intellectual for a Cindy thread. She missed hers in the early years and is now totally confused catching up…

Socialism, in other words. A bold new direction for third parties.

Hey, my state is helping the effort. It’s likely we’ll be moving the only elected and self-identified socialist in Washington from Congress to Senate in a couple weeks. Boy, we know how to pick ‘em huh?

RightWinged on October 23, 2006 at 12:50 PM

Third party?…. Let’s see,let us count just a few:

1. Republican Party
2. Democratic Party
3. Libertarian Party
4. Green Party
5. Progressive Party
6. Marijuana Party
7. Independence Party
8. Socialist Party
9. American Party
10. American Reform Party
11. Communist Party
12. Constitution Party
13. Family Values Party
14. Freedom Socialist Party
15. Labor Party
16. Light Party
17. Tupperware Party
18. Peace and Freedom Party

I’ve got 18 political parties (and there are many more). Do some of the above believe they are also a quote, “viable and credible” third party? She’s an excellent counter. She’s a political wiz.

Thank you BadBrad for doing what you do and for being the way you are. We owe you much. You enable us to be free and even stupid.

Honestly, I think the people that could benefit most from a Sheehan-led political party would be the Democrats. Sheehan had the potential to become quite an effective spokeswoman against the war and the president’s policies, but has deeply harmed her reputation with thinly-veiled anti-semitism, overly harsh rhetoric and friendliness with leaders who oppose the U.S. and its policies.

Her words and behavior have turned her into a deeply polarizing figure, and I’m not sure the attention given her benefits the Democrats, as she has become a magnet for the extreme anti-war and anti-administration members of the Democratic party. At present, the left is in much the same place as the right was in the early 1990s.

At that time, religious conservatives such as Pat Robertson and Pat Buchanan were driving the party so far to the right that it was losing its appeal to moderates and even some conservatives whose beliefs were not based in religious faith. Buchanan was largely ignored by the Contract with America creators and his popularity waned. The final gasp at power for him was a third-party run at the presidency, which catapulted him into irrelevancy.

The Democrats have a similar problem today with the extreme left. The appeal of people like Kos and Jane Hamsher is limited, although they make a lot of noise. Sheehan can safely be counted among their number. If she formed a third party, it would be a place for the angry left (those who dislike not only the Republicans, but their own party) to find a home and give moderate Democrats such as Bredenson, Ford and Obama a useful foil to make themselves look moderate.

It would also keep Democrats from being pulled down the baggage Sheehan has already accumulated, and with the baggage she’s sure to create as she attempts to maintain the spotlight.

Forming a political party is anti-American? You don’t really believe that, do you?

It is easy to imagine founding a political party being an anti-American act. It all depends on the purpose, objectives, and tactics of the party.

E L Frederick,

afraid of dissent, big boy?

BigB on October 23, 2006 at 12:59 PM

No, dissent all you want, but at least try and demonstrate that you have a clue. I just wondering what your point was… Other than the fact that it was a cheap inflammatory remark that is typical by those on the left who have no real arguments.

That’s what the resident trolls from the Moonbat Alternate Reality do.
