Video Round Up

Found this in comments to my NoKo post, but it deserves its own spot. It’s the North Korean personality cult edition of Polyanna. Mixed with Birth of a Nation. As directed by Leni Reifenstahl.
Snapped Shot had it first with a screengrab to drive the point home.
Had enough North Korean propaganda? Then check out the Sopranos, Rosie O style. When Rosie threatens to knee-cap a first-grader.
On the lighter side, and slightly less frightening than a mountain o’ Rosie bearing down on a 6-year-old, how about a little Tusken love:

Beyond creepy. Beyond primitive.

At her size she woudl intimidate anyone. I guess her lesson to her son is let mommy fight your battles! Well, guess we know how he will end up.

Re: Lil Kim as god – It’s a literal brainwashing over there. I saw a documentary on NK recently which indicated that they’ve developed the pseudo-religious-cult-worship so far as to even create an alternate “trinity” composed of Kim Il Sung the “Great Leader”, Kim Jong Il the “Dear Leader”, along with the North Korean philosophy of juche – or, self-reliance. The sheer depth of indoctrination in this country is hard to comprehend especially when we look at it and see how utterly ridiculous it all is to start with.

That’s all liberals know how to react… with violence. Even at 1st grade kids.
Rosie should be thrown off that show, she’s no role model.
Enoxo on October 20, 2006 at 12:31 PM
It is also why these twisted control freaks fear armed victims.
They have such serious self-control issues that they cannot even imagine an armed person behaving responsibly. They must project their own lack of self-control on the rest of us.
Kristopher on October 20, 2006 at 12:36 PM
Agreed Enoxo. Rosie is horrible and that face she made while saying that was frightening. Restraining order, anyone?
Dittohead on October 20, 2006 at 12:37 PM
What real message was that propaganda piece attempting to convey? Where were the fathers at? Are they currently imprisoned, undergoing reeducation or have they aleady died of starvation?
jarhead05 on October 20, 2006 at 12:42 PM
ROSIE O’DONNELL: What an interesting specimen of the liberal species. The woman believes America is the bully in the war on terror, that’s bad, but to threaten a little child with bodily harm, that’s fine for her. Hypocritical hippo!
As far as her trying to get the kid in trouble if he told, that’s just basic liberal logic. Do something bad and then attack the person who exposes you.
KIM JONG IL: That was hillarious! I laughed the entire time. This looked like something out of the Korean version of Airplane.
I wonder if you convert to No-Dong-ism, do you get a wig that looks like Kim’s hair? Kewl.
Lone Star on October 20, 2006 at 12:49 PM
You have better be kidding. Please tell me that that first video is a fake.
americanpundit on October 20, 2006 at 12:50 PM
In addition to strong arming children, Rosie then admits she would lie about it. Wait a minute, I seem to recall a meme from the left over the last few years about how evil it is to lie…something about President Bush is a liar or the Republicans are liars…something like that. I guess if the left lies it’s okay.
Baba looked pretty disgusted about the whole story, about 1/2 way through the clip.
Mallard T. Drake on October 20, 2006 at 12:57 PM
Yeah, Barbara Walters hardly smiled. She actually did look disgusted.
americanpundit on October 20, 2006 at 12:57 PM
So that’s what it takes to make me appreciate Barbara Walters.
“She’s better than Rosie!”
MamaAJ on October 20, 2006 at 1:03 PM
The more I think about it, the more I realize she was perfectly cast as Betty Rubble.
Get back to your cave, “Rosie”
Ugly on October 20, 2006 at 1:43 PM
The NYT takes its cues from Kos, now, I guess… this article uses that same pic of Bush and Foley that Kos kept using, to hold a place for the video on the left side.
DaveS on October 20, 2006 at 1:46 PM
Kim video…that was just…I’m at a loss for words.
Rosie..If Baba is turned off, then you know she went over the top.
vcferlita on October 20, 2006 at 1:51 PM
Word is, the accordion was served for dinner after the shoot. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, holiday tree bark sauce. Long live the Dear Leader!
Now we see why Ro-Ro is such an anti-gun freak. Any self-respecting parent would go Florida Statute 766 on her upon hearing of such threats.
Kid from Brooklyn on October 20, 2006 at 1:51 PM
You have got to be kidding!?! If I had not seen this I would have never believed it. She can not understand how this country can defend themselves against terrorists who FLY planes into buildings and murder 3000 people. But it is completely understandable for a 250+ lbs adult woman to threaten a 1st grader with harm. She is completely morally bankrupt. From her admonishable lifestyle, her condemnation of Christians, and her inexcusable view that the Second Amendment is “not really a right” I have only pity for such a lost soul. May God have mercy on her.

Rosie is 250+lbs?
Is that the low end of the orca sized burka?

“Do you see the light?”
“DO YOU SEE THE LIGHT?”
“YES, I SEE THE LIGHT!”
I’ve been so wrong… we’ve ALL been so wrong about Kim Jong Il. I used to think he was so evil, but now… NOW… I finally realize the error of my ways. Thanks General, thanks Jane, and thank YOU Bryan, for helping me see the error of my ways.
sniff, sniff.

To ladies of “the View”
We have received some disturbing reports here in the People’s Republic of Korea that some unbelief persists amongst our school children. Apparently, there are STILL some young people that harbor doubts that Kim Jong Il is truly God. We would like to secure the services of your panelist Rosie O. to convince these children otherwise. We are willing to donate a small nuclear device to the non-profit terrorist organization of Rosie’s choice as compensation for her services.
Respectively,
Chairman of the Ministry of Truth
North Korea
P.S. Do not believe the Western Imperialist propaganda suggesting that many children caught fire and burned to death during the filming of our inspirational video honoring our great leader.
CyberCipher on October 20, 2006 at 2:35 PM
Hmmm. That one guy stoking the fire looked like a North Korean version of Martin Sheen.
GPE on October 20, 2006 at 3:26 PM
Hmph; based on his outstanding work in “Team America World Police,” I’m disappointed that Kim Jong Il didn’t appear in this little flick except as a benignly smiling portrait… His public demands more!

Iraq and Afghanistan never threatened to kill me, but Rosie O’Donnell did.

Rosie: poster child for living with no morality. Have a passing thought of lesbianism? Why not? Go ahead! Want to bully a child? Why not? Go ahead! Want to betray your country? Why not? Go ahead!
If there is no basis in morality to guide your actions, then the only factors in behavioral decisions are your own self-interest and probability of “getting away with it”.

You said it well…except the mercy part, I cant go there, not for the “no guns unless they’re my bodyguards”, “I’ll beat up kids” , “I’ll say what’s a right and whats not a right” fatass PARKING STRUCTURE rosie….
Hey, who’s a list maker amongst us? We need a list of Rosieisms, or O’D-isms. She’s such a hypocrite, we gotta get a list of her B.S.
Parkinglot-isms!!!

I believe there is a phrase in Tusken that describes RosieO to a T:
EUURRRRRRRRR AR, AR AR, AR AR! EURRRR EUR AR!
Exactly , Mr. Raider, Exactly!

Based on what I’ve seen and read of similar communist propaganda film and literature, it can be presumed that the family’s real father is dead, or that they believe him so. As the clip we can see opens, they are mourning his loss, and then the boy proclaims that Father (General, God, Kim) will always be with them. The message doesn’t play well to western minds born in freedom, but to cultures under communism, it is all too normal. Since they EXPECT to be taught and trained by the government, they willingly accept the concept portrayed here, and adopt “Dear Leader” as their own family’s patron.
Makes you all warm and fuzzy, doesn’t it?

I understand that Kim Jong Il video is up for some Film Actors’ Guild awards.
