Today in liberal bias: Bill Clinton = ‘Moses’, Karl Rove = ‘Evil Genius’

posted at 1:51 pm on October 20, 2006 by Ian

I saw this last night, but didn’t think about posting it at the time:

On last night’s Hardball, Bill Clinton was depicted as a unifying “Moses”-like figure while Karl Rove was portrayed as a divisive “evil genius.” In describing Bill Clinton on a campaign stop at Georgetown University, NBC’s Kevin Corke used biblical terms: “It was as if Moses himself had returned. Former President Bill Clinton, the man some believe could figure prominently in helping to lead Democrats back to the political promised land, was back at his alma mater, Georgetown, for a major speech this week.”

I just have one question: If Bill Clinton is Moses, then who is Jesus?

I’m not following Clinton into a desert
and I doubt he could part the waters

Duh. Jimmy Carter.

Slublog on October 20, 2006 at 1:54 PM

Better question, who is Muhammad?

Duh. Jimmy Carter.

ROFL – Good one Slublog. He certainly has risen from the dead to spread his gospel. And, he seems to have converted more than a few disciples in recent times.

Hell, let’s just give Clinton the Peace Prize and get it over with.

BacaDog on October 20, 2006 at 2:05 PM

Moses spread the red sea apart. Clinton spread interns’ legs apart. It’s really a natural comparison.

Moses freed the jews from slavery. Clinton freed his schlong from his pants. Again; natural comparison.

I really don’t see what the hub-bub is about.

You’re all wrong. Everyone knows, if Clinton = Moses then Olberdouche = Jesus.

tnculp on October 20, 2006 at 2:20 PM

Man, the weird awe liberals have over Clinton is truly perplexing. Comparing him to a biblical figure? Please.

And just when is the Evil Genius going to pull Bin Laden out of his basement for our October surprise? The clock is ticking…

NTWR on October 20, 2006 at 2:20 PM

Who is the democratic Jesus. This is a big puzzle. I believe that it is howard dean. He spoke truth–pure liberal shit– to the people. They were scared and rejected him for a while. Why? They needed him to lead the rest of fallen democrats to eternal liberal God: Ted Kennedy. At the end, he was made king–chairman of the democratic people.

Ouabam on October 20, 2006 at 2:23 PM

When Clinton was in Egypts land…let my interns go.

maydox on October 20, 2006 at 2:25 PM

“could figure prominently in helping to lead Democrats back to the political promised land”

I see no signs of throwing the moonbats overboard from Clinton, and that’s what it will take for democrats to go mainstream again.

Purple Avenger on October 20, 2006 at 2:26 PM

Moses spread the red sea apart. Clinton spread interns’ legs lips apart. It’s really a natural comparison.

Moses gathered and lead the nation of Israel out of Egypt and into the desert. They would have gone straight to the Promised Land, but the people had no respect for God and his prophets. As punishment for their sinful ways, they had to wander in the desert for 40 years. Only after all those who were living during the escape from Egypt, including Moses, had died, was the nation allowed into the Promised Land.

Moses was a stuttering murderer who lived in the Sahara for years to avoid being imprisoned. He also resisted the call of God for many years before accepting his role in God’s plans. Because of his speech problems, his brother Aaron did all his public speaking for him.

I don’t know what this has to do with Clinton and the Donks. I just thought I would share some of the back story.

Mallard T. Drake on October 20, 2006 at 2:28 PM

I just have one question: If Bill Clinton is Moses, then who is Jesus?

You people are crossing the line here – is that all you conservatives think about?? Can’t you come up with a more secular comparison and not offend the atheists and agnostics and muslims…?

Rick on October 20, 2006 at 2:34 PM

Oh noes! We can’t possibly stand to have Clinton cast in a positive light! Let’s obsess about his extramarital blowjobs instead. We’re much better off with the president who turned our budget surplus into a record deficit and got hundreds of thousands killed.

Constantine on October 20, 2006 at 2:34 PM

Rove is satan, though. There is no question about that.

Rick on October 20, 2006 at 2:35 PM

Ned Lamont. I keep seeing Lieberman called “Judas Joe” on DU, so Lamont would have to be Jesus.

Ned Lamont attempted to cast out the demon, but Judas Joe said, “My name is Legion; for we are many.” Judas Joe then went to the priests of AIPAC and the RNC. For 30 pieces of silver Judas Joe betrayed the Christ-like Ned Lamont. Now Ned Lamont hangs from his Kos cross, wondering, “My Netroots, my Netroots, why hast thou forsaken me?”

rw on October 20, 2006 at 2:35 PM

I just have one question: If Bill Clinton is Moses, then who is Jesus?

Easy. Hillary Clinton. Jimmy Carter came too early (he’s Abraham in the liberal lexicon), and Ned Lamont might be John.

And Rick, it’s called return fire.

steveegg on October 20, 2006 at 2:41 PM

I thought that the Newt led House convinced Cigarman to balance the budget. When did Cigarman decide to take credit for the very idea that he vetoed several times?

Bush got hundreds of thousands killed??? When did that happen, and how?

DannoJyd on October 20, 2006 at 2:42 PM

Constantine:

Step away from the Kool-aid and get informed. The deficit has been reduced years ahead of projections and is the smallest percentage of the GNP in decades. Try a google search for recent economic news. Here is a head start.

Where were these 100,000s of people killed? Only in a flawed and biased “study” of the WOT in Iraq.

Mallard T. Drake on October 20, 2006 at 2:44 PM

Moses ain’t exactly the Biblical character I’d compare him to. I kind of lean toward Ahab.

Jezebel is waiting in the Senate.

irishsquid on October 20, 2006 at 2:52 PM

I suppose it happened the instant The Lancet said it did… If I were going to make up outrageous numbers for war dead I think I’d try to keep the number grounded in reality somewhere… perhaps a volume of people that the media might actually overlook vanishing into thin air.

Lehosh on October 20, 2006 at 2:53 PM

“Democrats caught them by surprise. It may be running out its rope. If so, you’re going to be looking at Republicans saying maybe we ought to borrow a page from Bill Clinton’s playbook.”

…and Hell is frozen over…

Matthews: “What does that tell you? That we’re tired of all those discussions, the divisive kind of discussion we`ve had on these issues?”

Harris: “It tells me that the war is a huge issue in American politics.”

But we’re going to hand this “big issue” over to Pelosi/Reid?

Harris: “It’s bigger, and you know, this Karl, this election might be Karl Rove’s Waterloo in one sense if Republicans get beat in this.”

Who will he be if he beats them?

Matthews: “What’s he got up his sleeve? What has he got up his sleeve?”

Sheer paranoia, in spite of 100% of the polls being ‘dems win’ Schadenfreude!

Harris: “We’ll find out. I guarantee you that he`s got something up his sleeve. He’s incredibly…”

Harris: “Let’s find out. There is so much almost paranoia within Democratic circles because they believe Rove is, in their view, an evil genius. He’s got something up his sleeve.”

Matthews: “He’s cooking up something.”

More paranoia, their own conclusion, more Schadenfreude.

I just have one question: If Bill Clinton is Moses, then who is Jesus?

Ian, Olbermann.

ReubenJCogburn on October 20, 2006 at 3:12 PM

Karl Rove was portrayed as a divisive “evil genius.”

I guess they’ve never seen Spaceballs? “Evil will always triumph, because Good is dumb.”

Radish on October 20, 2006 at 3:23 PM

The whole analogy falls apart when you consider that the only person with supernatural powers in the leftist pantheon is George Bush (i.e., they believe he can control hurricanes, melt glaciers, create floods, smite people by the hundreds of thousands, etc.)

Mr. Moore, a political consultant with Gorton Moore International, trained Iraqi researchers for the International Republican Institute from 2003 to 2004 and conducted survey research for the Coalition Forces from 2005 to 2006.

EFG on October 20, 2006 at 3:52 PM

Indeed! What about “separation of church and state”? I’m sure Georgetown receives public funding, so where’s the outrage? Because you know if a Republican made a similar comparison using Biblical examples, the Dims would be howling about it (it’s what they do), and it would be yet another “scandal” that we’d have to hear about for a month. Democratic hypocrisy is truly infinite.

ReubenJCogburn on October 20, 2006 at 5:12 PM

Constantine:

Typical. Rather than address the substance of Mr. Moore’s claims about the flawed execution of the cluster point survey method and the lack of calibrating the results with the Iraqi demographics, you attempt an ad hominen attack on Mr. Moore’s background. That pair of treys you’re holding don’t look too strong.

Geez,

Honora, Greg H., Big B, and now Constantine.

If one wanted to gather together this country’s purveyors of Anti-American vitriol they might want to consider these dipsticks.

The good news is that, at the end of the day, most Americans of good will just feel sorry for these miserable losers.

Hey Honora, I’m going out tonight to celebrate the Dow breaking 12,000. What are you up to?

Kevin Corke , he was a bit lost when he tried to do the Sports in Denver years ago. Still a bit lost.

Kennedy did walk on water…or at least away from it, but he sure didnt save (the girl) anyone.
Murtha could be Saul, pre Paul, all he does is bitch.

News flash genius: Level of education is not equal to level of truthfulness.

Barack Obama.

“Moses”? Sheesh, and the moonbats think WE worship George Bush.

A few days ago I saw a clip of Olbermann talking to Bill Clinton after the latest Global Initiative rally. Olberman quietly said the rally was “transcendent”. Then he offered Clinton a check for his contribution almost as if he was not worthy. It almost seemed reverent, and I half expected Ol’ B to get on his knees and grovel. Of course, good ol’ Slick Willie had a big smile on his face, just eating up the near-worship. Very, very creepy.

…not your own PhD, but someone else’s. So your source of inaccurate, biased and demonstrably skewed information is an EDUCATED idiot….

Idiots without credentials are so…well…plebian.

It’s impossible for the modern ideologue to trump and kill an argument without having a source with letters after their names. One is forced, in the absence of sheepskin, to use substance…you know…sound information derived from impartial and dispassionate research.

…tell me…in the face of all this blather about our nation’s butcher’s bill, has anyone bothered to tot up how many folks standing in lines for jobs, driving down the street, worshipping in mosques, or just hanging around being the wrong sort of Iraqi the “freedom fighters” have killed?

How many have we had to kill in Iraq? Too many. How many more will we kill? Not nearly enough.

Education, like guns, can be a dangerous thing in the hands of some people. Case in point….Lynne F. Stewart, JD, Rutgers University, Class of 75.

SPIFF1669 on October 21, 2006 at 8:29 AM

There is no doubt that Clinton is a total joke. Waco, Lewinsky, Broadrick, Sudan, China, scandal, FBI files, Bosnia,
and so much more.
Yet, Bush is no better. He is getting Americans killed by the thousands with no courage to win, fighting a pc war. He is a political coward, he backstabbed the conservatives and is in fact more liberal than Clinton. Result: America is lost on a sea of compromise, illusion, lies, hypocricy, and failure.
We are a people with no leaders of quality.
