aengus, glad you shared and that you're here. This site is a big tent and it makes the <strike>fights</strike> debates more <strike>intense</strike> interesting :)

I'm a naturalized citizen of the U.S., born in Eastern Europe and love living the best from both worlds. American politics are simply addictive.

My cousin goes to Ireland twice a year with exchange groups of teenagers and absolutely adores your country and its people. With best regards,

This race is basically a referendum on the war within the Democratic party. Say what you like about Joe Lieberman but he is willing to stand with his country in a time of war. That's good enough in my book. It seems to be enough for Democratic voters in Connecticut.

BTW I'm not an American. I live in Ireland. I just follow American politics closely.

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright.
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light.
And, somewhere men are laughing, and little children shout,
But there is no joy in Kosville, Mighty Neddy has struck out!

I would be happier if this turned around for the Republican candidate, but I am satisfied that the nutroots will have their noses rubbed into the <strike>Kos</strike> fact that America refutes them, and their stands.

The Democratic party were once rejoicing, and touting lamont as their hero. I wonder what they think of him now. Where are those liberal bloggers? They should get out there to campaign. They deserved to be called chicken.

I love how the nutroot Neddy Lamont supporters flip flop on poll data. From one of the nuttier of the nutroots, Hint-lets just say the lake is more like a mud hole.
<blockquote>Polling is only a snapshot of the people that the poll taker chooses to put in the frame. What matters most is who is motivated to head to the voting booth. It's true for CT, and for the rest of the nation. That's why getting out our vote is critical — and why we should all be concentrating on those efforts, and less at trying to pick our candidates — and each other — apart down the stretch.</blockquote>

Lieberman is eating this guy's lunch and it makes me giddy. One year from now people are going to say "Ned who? Wasn't he that guy that lived next door to Homer Simpson?"

In case anyone missed Rosie vs. Bill O'Reilly, <a href="http://hotair.com/archives/2006/10/18/video-wrong-rosie-wont-voice-support-for-us-victory-in-iraq/" rel="nofollow">here is the link from the vault.</a>

The relevant parts are when O'Reilly tells her that Joe L. is going to beat Lamont, and Rosie defiantly, if cluelessly, states 'No he won't.' Several times if I recall. Then Bill wants to make a bet with Rosie, but she declines stating that she gave all her money to Lamont. There was a fiscally wise decision.

No matter what happens in the general election, we'll always have Connecticut...

<blockquote>Is this the moral victory we are forced to look for in November? Successfully enabling a guy who votes with democrats 90% of the time to get into office? Brilliant.

Well, in a word, yes. What's funny about this is that if you really think about it, the only one getting what they want is Joe.

Lorien,

It's kind of a one-issue election in Connecticut. Sometimes that's how it goes...
