Conrad Burns: Bush has a secret plan for Iraq
posted at 5:00 pm on October 18, 2006 by Allahpundit
In a tense exchange with Tester, who has taken a slim lead in recent polls, Burns hammered the Democratic challenger for his call on the president to develop a plan for withdrawing troops from Iraq.
“He wants everyone to know our plan. That’s not smart,” Burns said.
“He said our president (doesn’t) have a plan. I think he’s got one, but he’s not going to tell everybody in the world,” Burns added. “If you want to go out and spar for a fight, are you going to tell your enemy what your plan is? I don’t think so.”
Burns later said: “There is a plan. We’re not going to tell you, Jon.”
Tester’s “slim, recent” lead actually isn’t all that slim and recent. Congrats, Burnsy: you’re in line to be the first Republican torpedoed by a nutroots-supported candidate.
Via the Late Late Show, is this why the plan’s not working? Mean, but funny.
Update: Earlier today in Najaf:
Update: This is encouraging, too.

Didn’t John Kerry have a secret plan…oh…I think I’m gonna be sick

LOL! That video was pretty funny.
I find it facinating that they want Bush to spill the beans on all of the anti-terror programs yet when Kerry was asked about his plans for Iraq he simply said “go to my website”.
The Liberal response: That’s good enough for me… I’ll take your word for it, comrade Kerry.
The Conservative reponse: No, I think I’ll pass.

Is he willing to whisper it to Connie Chung?

I’m afraid this is Bush’s secret plan.

Well if you’re going to highlight part of Bush’s plan that was a royal f— up, showing a picture of Malliki and Sadr together certainly does the trick.
If W. was half the cowboy that the left accuses him of being (as if it’s such a bad thing), he would have Sadr and his militia quickly and ruthlessly exterminated while telling Malliki to go have sex with himself were he to raise any objections.

Bush had a secret plan but Sandy Berger stole it.

That Ferguson clip (by the way, does anyone actually watch that show?) was pretty funny, but the sad part is the Daily Show type viewer probably ate that up as real. I’m not just making a joke, I wish I had the capability to take a poll and find out what percentage of libs believe that video was real.
As for the secret plan. As we know, that was Kerry’s campaign promise. He had a plan, but apparently cared more about saving it to get credit if he won the presidency, than helping the country by telling the President and trying to help out. But as for Bush’s “secret plan”, I think you may be reading more in to it. The point was that if we tell the enemy what we’re going to do, then all they have to do is adjust tactics. Tell them a withdrawal date, and they can either up attacks to prevent us from being able to leave, or wait and then really let loose once we’re gone. I don’t think there’s any secret plan, Bush has repeatedly stated his plan no matter how many times we’re told he doesn’t have one.
