Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid today issued the following statement:
“Last month, Republicans openly boasted that they would engage in a campaign of personal attacks and smears to hold onto power in Washington. In recent days, we witnessed their latest attempt to do just that.
“Republicans may believe in cover-ups. I believe in ensuring all facts come to light.
“Last week, a highly misleading report by the Associated Press implied that I made a profit selling land I no longer owned. That article was wrong. Here are the facts: I bought the land in 1998, I sold it in 2004, and I listed my ownership of the land on official Senate disclosure forms every single year.

Funny. When a Republican is caught, it is proof positive of rampant corruption in the party. When a Democrat is caught, it’s always a right winged smear campaign.
Democrats can’t even be original in their bashing.

Well, does the story have legs or not? Unless I’m wrong, (and I could be) the wrongdoing was identified as not having listing ownership of the land and holding it in secret via the LLC. If he did in fact properly list ownership via the LLC then as much as I hate to admit it……….this ain’t much of a story. As slimy as Harry is, he’s right.
So, someone with much more insight set me straight please.

The issue may be the purpose of transfering the property to the LLC. Was it to escape taxes on the part of Reid? If so, that’s how the FBI got Al Capone. I think ther is a lot more to this, if not Harry would not try to put it to bed so quick.

Dear Commenters:
I resent this slight. I, and I alone am responsible for Harry Reid’s ethical situation.

It looks as if Hairball is running scared. As the story originated with the unconvincing Al-AP I would have given Dingy a pass, but he blew it [no homo offense intended] when he blamed it on Republicans. He hung up on the Al-AP reporter, then waited several days before he could bring himself to spew the prepared remarks. I wonder who came up with the wording, and is he blaming the VRWC for hanging up his end of the line?

Another Al-AP report via Breitbart …
After running this through the liberal PC filtering machine that the MSM uses daily, it turns out that Reid is telling the truth. Mind you, the liberal PC machine also shows that the Truthers are telling the truth. :oP

“Last month, Republicans openly boasted that they would engage in a campaign of personal attacks and smears to hold onto power in Washington.” H Reid
What a freakin’ joke. That statement is actually correct, he just neglected to mention that the target has turned out to be themselves! We don’t need any help from Reid, there are plenty of “weenies within” doing it for him.

The right wing has unleashed their vicious attack dog — The Associated Press – on the Senate minority leader.
Heh.

I’m also responsible for Congressman William Jefferson’s $90,000 in the freezer. In my zeal, I imagined the entire episode.

Some fresh Dirty Harry news.

I knew it – damn culture of corruption. Just leave the good people of the Democratic party alone to do the right thing.

Harry’s corruption problems (land sales and illegal use of campaign funds) may end up with all of us enjoying the sight of Dirty Harry being “frogmarched” down the capital steps in handcuffs on the way to the pokey, which is what the Democrats wanted to happen to Rove.

Sad but true: crooked real estate deals aren’t as titallating as sex stuff. If there was a pedophile or some other sexual deviant involved, now there’s news!!
Wake me when there’s a congressman not involved in influence peddling or abuse of power of some sort.
Who’s cynical?
