On the days when it looks like the West is falling over itself in a collective rush to embrace dhimmitude, I have to step back and remind myself that Islam itself is fatally flawed. What fatal flaw?

First, my own background (at least in this area) is that of a military intelligence analyst and linguist. I have engaged in both formal/scholarly study of Arab culture and religion as well as informal study of the same based on my experiences in the region and among expatriates (Christian and Muslim) here in America. While I’m no Bernard Lewis, I do have a good working knowledge of the peoples/cultures/religions of the Middle East. I say this so that readers will understand that I reached my conclusion after some study and contemplation. That conclusion: Islam itself is fatally flawed and the terrorism espoused by more militant Muslims is a reaction to the collapse of Islam as it comes into ever greater contact with the modern world.

Why would Islam face such a collapse? Because it is not a religion per se, rather it is a collection of primitive tribal and cultural superstitions and practices that were prevalent in the Arabian peninsula circa 622 A.D. with a thin veneer borrowed from Judeo-Christian beliefs. Mohammed simply borrowed from the Bible of the Jews and Christians he encountered in Jerusalem and used that basis to elevate his own tribal/cultural preferences to an artificial status as divinely ordained law. Most Arab Christians I have known have been both amused and appalled by this chicanery. You are probably also aware that “Arab” culture as it is commonly understood by Muslims (in the “pan-arab” sense) is not Arab (it bears little relation to the culture of the Levant and even less to that of Egypt) so much as it Mohammedan (i.e. a reflection of the Quraesh tribe’s preferences).

So where does that leave Islam? It leaves it as a collection of primitive seventh century tribal practices that appear more ridiculous with every encounter with the modern world. Unlike Judaism and Christianity, Islam is not based on the fundamental truths revealed by God, so it does not rest on a solid bedrock of truth which would allow it to flourish in a changing, modern world. Rather, its non-divine origins become more obvious with each passing year and it is revealed as a primitive social construct rather than a religion. Thus, the hatred (conscious or unconscious) of many Muslims for modern societies and the West in general and Christianity and Judaism in particular. The mere existence of these things reveal many of the basic tenets of Islam to be frauds, or, at best, tribal fetishism. If you were to strip away all of the tribal superstitions and nonsense from Islam, you’d be left with nothing but an empty shell that merely pays lip service to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The only question remaining is whether our “leaders” surrender faster than the islamists’ house of cards collapses.

and don’t even get me started on the moon god and the pagan festivals that were the precursors of the Haj (Mohammed basically made a deal with the merchants of Mecca who profited from the trade associated with the pagan festivals (outlawed by Mohammed) held in Mecca: in return for their support, he made the Haj, or muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, mandatory for his followers. Mohammed solidified his power base and the merchants still made their profits from religious pilgrims coming to Mecca).
