Video: Bolton gets testy after NK ambassador walks out

There’s no video of the ambassador actually leaving that I saw, so we’re stuck with this. Here’s Chapter II of the UN Charter, FYI. I believe he has Articles 4 and 6 in mind.

The resolution forbids the transfer of nuclear and ballistic-missile components to NK as well as major conventional weapons like tanks, warships, etc. It also allows for cargo inspections into and out of the country. It expressly rules out military force, though, and allows sales of light-arms conventional weaponry to continue.

So I guess the problem’s solved. Bring on Iran!

Update: “I think the North Korean population has been losing average height and weight over the years and maybe this will be a little diet for Kim Jong Il.”

Blowback

Yahoo keeps changing the pictures, but for now Lil Kim drinks to…something….

Mr. Bolton said, after the U.N. left the assembly meeting “…I’m not going to waste time to what he said…but his walking out of the Security Councel is equivalent with Nikita Kruscev pounding his shoe on the table…”

Entelechy on October 14, 2006 at 3:07 PM

Well, already vanished…but here is the ‘drinking’ picture.

Entelechy on October 14, 2006 at 3:15 PM

Sorry folks to be so incoherent today (sincerely haven’t had anything to drink).

Meant to write “after the U.N. North-Korean representative left the meeting”.

Also s/b “Security Council”, not ‘councel’

…but his walking out of the Security Councel is equivalent with Nikita Kruscev pounding his shoe on the table…”

And those clowns are probably wondering why anyone would object to a little shoe-pounding.

God bless John Bolton.

Very telling are the smiles of the U.N. potentates, while Mr. Bolton speaks on the NK rep. having walked out.

And they cast a vote equivalent to Mr. Bolton’s! Equivalence!

Go Bolton!!
Does any one have the current handicap on whether the Senate will confirm him this time?

urbancenturion on October 14, 2006 at 4:56 PM

I know why the Vichy-Americans in the Senate objected to Bolten in the first place. He’s a vertebrate and they are invertebrates.

Go Johnny go!

too true

urbancenturion on October 14, 2006 at 5:34 PM

I know why the Vichy-Americans in the Senate objected to Bolten in the first place. He’s a vertebrate and they are invertebrates.

And they speak with forked tongues…

Lincoln Chaffee, the RINO that Bush suported in the primary, is the one holding up Bolton’s nomination.

Way to go, Bush!

Hahahaa .. *snort*… Hahahaa!

Watching Bolton in action made my day!

The “repressed laughter” by those sitting around Bolton was priceless.

The Japanese guys in the back row at the end are what crack me up every time.

His “I don’t have time to read much fiction” comment to Kucinich was a classic.

infidel4life on October 14, 2006 at 9:27 PM

I saw this live today, and as everyone got up to leave, Bolton and everyone around him were smiling and laughing.

Two points to make here:

1. The resolution is being bandied about as The Strongest action that the UN Security Council has ever taken. They forget that in 1950, the UNSC DECLARED WAR on North Korea after it invaded the south. I submit going to war is a tad stronger than threatening to search cargo ships for contraband.

2. I see a scenario developing. The United States starts inspecting ships going and coming from North Korea, as they did to Iraq bound and departing shipping in the Persian and Arabian gulfs after the Gulf war.

The North Koreans attempt a reprise of the USS Pueblo incident.

North Korea loses a naval base. Or more.

It might — almost — be worth losing the Senate just to see Lincoln “Butt Boy” Chafee lose his seat. Having him there is the same as having him lose, anyway.

Is Bolton Captain Kangaroo’s love child?
